I did not purchase a kit. Instead I dove in and ordered all the LED's I would need. Once I installed them I noticed the "Hyperflash" Issue. Thx to your clip I now know what I need to do to fix that issue. Will be needing that relay. Also I have learned a bit more about LED's and have found that they are not all made the same. Do your homework before purchasing or upgrading to LED's : )
Damn you have the same set up I have. Challenger Scat Pack and 99 Jeep Cherokee. I installed an OME 2.5 lift on the Jeep and I can say that I like driving the Jeep as much as the scat. Plus on the Jeep I can fix everything myself but new cars other then brakes or suspension not so much.
Definitely a good setup to have. I agree with you that the Jeep is definitely easier to work on. I wouldn’t trust myself to do much on the challenger other than an oil change lol
Do you have another source for the bulbs? OneWay no longer lists the package you recommended? Or do you have any info on the individual bulbs that were in the kit?
2 Questions: I want to do the same to my XJ, all LED's in the markers and rear tails. 1. The rear RED LEDs - do they have a 2 stage brightness? As in, if you're driving at night, turn on your headlights and rear running lights (in red), when you hit the brake, do they go Brighter as they would in a 2 filament regular 3157? Or same brightness? I noticed this was issue with some of the brake/running lights people buy (LED). 2. What is the light bulb number/type for front SIDE markers (fender side, little amber ones)? I keep getting conflicting part numbers on forums! I think it's a 194?
Yes the rear lights act the same as stock where they get brighter if you hit the brakes. I’m not too sure on the number of the bulb though. They were removed from the website that I got them from so I can’t check.
Isn't it curious how most of the cars/trucks have LED tail lights plug and play. But there is nothing for the xj? I've been looking for some without luck
@@KCars thank you for your reply. Indeed. And I have the same set up except for the blinkers. I ment to say the tail light as a whole unit. There are for TJs and CJs
Good vid. Thinking of doing this to my xj. But i changed the front turning signals/side markers which hyper flash not really a big issue.... And i wanted to do the rear but it made my turn signal stuck with the led when i first tried it. Switch back to the oem rear turn bulb and works fine. Hyperflashes all the way around. But work. What may be thw issue? Cant seem to get a good answer.
@@KCars thanks thats my first step. But i seen when my running lights and or headlight are on. My front side markers will not light. But when headlight and running light are off they work. Will the relay also fix that issue ?or it may be somthing diffrent
Link is in the description. Looks like they don’t sell the exterior kit anymore though but I’d email their customer service and ask if they have any left
Anyone have any advice for me? I have a 99 xj and my right turn signal flashes exactly like it’s an led without a relay but I know for a fact it isn’t.
I’m not too great when it comes to electrical stuff but these haven’t given me any problems after putting in the turn signal relay, not sure if that’s the same thing as a ballast
@@KCars right on! I recommend going long arm if you haven’t already bought the kit. I bought Iron Rock OffRoad 3” Long Arm Kit and it’s very beefy! The 3 link kit is awesome for articulation and droop. I’m cutting the fenders and am putting 35s on it though the overall lift will be around 4” with the full leaf pack being 3.5”, bar pin eliminators, and the shackles.
Sweet. I actually already have the Rusty’s kit and don’t have any complaints with it. I don’t do any kind of crazy off roading so I don’t think I really have a need for a long arm kit
The fraud message that you see was caused by customers who were using different billing and shipping addresses, nothing to do with the company, they’re still in business. If you search the site you’ll find several different sets of LEDs for the XJ that they still offer
why would you put a lift and bigger tires on it!?!? That truck looks like its in excellent condition STOCK which is where the money is! Stock Cherokee brings in more in factory condition then aftermarket parts like lift kits exc. bulbs are one thing but to ruin such a great truck with a lift is just wrong! KEEP IT STOCK!!!!!! I have a 2000 and im keeping her clean and factory….
I’m not planning on selling it so holding it just for resale value doesn’t matter to me. And I think a brand new suspension will freshen it up and make it look a whole lot better and make it perform better. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not gonna beat on it but I don’t wanna keep it completely stock just for resale value because that’s not my goal with this Jeep

One of my favorite colors on a jeep.
Same!
Do you need resistors for every light?
Do you have another source for the bulbs? OneWay no longer lists the package you recommended? Or do you have any info on the individual bulbs that were in the kit?
Hmmm I’m actually not sure then, I can’t remember what kind of bulbs they were exactly
More Jeep videos!
They’re coming! Thanks for watching!
Great video .Thank you Jeeper.
No problem, thanks for watching!
I have a 94 Cherokee do y’all think this set will still work ?
I believe this light set is only for the 97-01 XJs

Helped me out with my 98 xj thank you
No problem, thanks for watching!
What type of bulb is used for the reverse light
It looks like the exterior LEDs are no longer on the website but if you email them he should be able to help you out: onewaylight.com
Does your xj have the plastics on the doors ? If so do you happen to know how I can restore them or where I can find new ones ?
The side molding? I just spray painted them black
do your led turn signals work when you turn the headlights on?
Yes

My LED tail lights were plug and play

I think there are LED tail lights where you can get the whole unit but they are a different style than stock that I’m not a huge fan of
Awesome
👌
Hi, could you link the products you used in the video description ?👍
I just linked it in the description, seems like it’s currently out of stock and you’ll have to get the turn signal relay separately

Thanks for watching! The hyper flashing can be fixed by installing a turn signal relay: czcams.com/video/6U9zvmeJhEs/video.html

I think that would be something different, I’d start with the relay though and see what happens

You mean it’s hyper flashing but it’s not an LED?
@@KCars exactly. No clue how it’s happening, but it definitely isn’t an led
Hmm that’s interesting, maybe try replacing the bulbs
Are all bulbs lighting? Hyperflash is from lower loading.. like a missing bulb....
I thought you couldn't get LED if they didn't have a ballast cause they run in less volts
I’m not too great when it comes to electrical stuff but these haven’t given me any problems after putting in the turn signal relay, not sure if that’s the same thing as a ballast
@@KCars well most after market led lights come with there own ballast box... Unless those are 12v led bulbs
These didn’t come with anything except for the turn signal relay. I got them from onewaylight.com if you want to check them out

What lift and size tires are you going to be going with? I’m in the middle of lifting my Jeep.
Rusty’s 3 inch advanced lift kit and 31x10.50 tires
