love the artificial barrier that is iPadOS, just so it doesn't overshadow their MacBooks, otherwise this would have been a new era for mobile computing. Not to mention the keyboard angle that doesn't open all the way up lol.
Agree. I'd have no problem dropping $2000 on this if it ran MacOS. Heck, keep ipados but give us a way to run desktop apps. As is, I have no idea why people are buying these.
Yeah absolute nonsense every CZcamsr drooling over how MK is great where it fails at two major uses - touch (insane wobbling) and having device on your lap (awful angle). It’s not worth 300/350 price tag. A case with kickstand is so much better. Whereas I wouldn’t mind iPadOs per se for touch device over MacOs - two things need to happen - better window management (just replicate MacOS), file management (same), ability to run desktop version of apps. Then it will be a true pro device.
Macbook is cheaper. Ipad + keyboard blah blah is more expensive.
Pro is no comparison, in comparison to macbook pro there is huge difference the thermal management etc.
Expensive way to watch Netflix and play Angry Birds 😂😂

The iPad for me is no longer laptop replacement. It never has been, and will not be in the near future. I accept it for what it is - an accessory for my MacBook. I use it as a display extension and if I need to edit photos with the pencil I switch from my MacBook to my iPad. Once I started viewing it as an "add-on" to my laptop, I've come to appreciate it more.
I use my Samsung Tab S9+ as a laptop replacement for 80% of my work. It came with a keyboard case, but I prefer the portable Logitech keyboard and mouse. I am heading to Europe for 10 days and left my laptop at home.
I always enjoy your videos, I will probably upgrade to the Air, I just my iPad when I travel. Thank you for all you do and I have made purchasing decisions based off you and Just Josh and Jarrod's reviews.

Spending 2K on a tablet is the ultimate FLEX.
It's only viable if your workload is dependent on it, if not a normal laptop is better
Apple does not know what to do with the iPad Pros. The iPads are so close to the Macbook Air yet so far and They should merge them at this point.
MacBook air is 1000 and this is 2000. So macbook is better proposition.

@@innosantoBut inferior display, inferior speakers, no promotion, no touch input possible, no pencil input possible. In many ways the MBA is inferior to the iPad Pro. It comes down to what you want / need for your use case

Thanks for that speaker test! Not many reviewers take the time to analyse this properly. A suggestion if I may, perhaps the sound would be easier to compare if the track played continuously, seamlessly switching from one device to another, thus one could more easily perceive the changes. Going thinner definitely affected the audio quality; as you said, richer, fuller (and louder) sound coming from the "thicker" iPad Pro speakers. However, the audio quality felt better in the Pro M4 when compared to the S9 Ultra, especially noticeable during the vocals. Same with the Tab Extreme vs the Pro M4. I wonder if that was an intentional tradeoff, sacrificing audio quality/fidelity in exchange for loudness in the case of the Samsung/Lenovo devices, and viceversa in the case of the Pro M4. Looking forward to your full review!

Great video. It's blatantly obvious that Apple can replace their MacBooks with the iPad at this point, but that artificial barrier is still frustratingly limiting, especially for a device that costs as much as a mortgage payment in a major U.S. metropolitan city.
I bought my ipad pro back in 2018…..still super fast lol…so m4 is “future proof” til 2030 lol

I have a big doubt regarding which screen size should I buy the 11 or 13 mp4
I'm a photographer and cinematographer...my use for the iPad would be very broad, such as using apps to control lights in the studio, using the iPad as a monitor for the drone...as well as answering emails and drawing light maps...
I've already been to the Apple store to see the 2 models in person and I still haven't decided.
This decision is really difficult. What would be your opinion?
Nice tablet. Camera looked good. Mics sounded good. Overall sound compared to the other units you compared it to was not as good but the sound on this unit still was very good. Display is good. Great first looks review. Have a nice trip to the other side of the world.
The sound between the two ipads is pretty good on both. I cannot tell the difference on my headphones, both sound premium.
iPads are really good but it can’t replace the macs because the macs have more power and the user can do a lot of things in macs and laptops generally. Like your videos a lot
My solution is a set-up no one asked for. The S9 ultra with a slim keyboard and an apple trackpad. It'll work on any surface and it's less clunky than carrying around a mouse.
No rational person uses a trackpad on a device with a touch screen and pen support...

I am curious. Does it feel too big. For example, I have the galaxy tab s9 ultra and it feels too big, so I don't use it as much as I used my 7+. But the ipad is slightly smaller and has a different ratio.
I have both and they’re both excellent. The iPad Pro is certainly lighter and thinner if that matters. I think issues like it’s too big or not too big or it doesn’t do certain tasks are all relative to the people using them and their individual use cases. For certain people a tablet makes more sense than a laptop and for others a laptop makes more sense.

Tablets are made to do tablet things and Macbooks are made to do laptop things. They both have different use cases.
Please explain what "tablet things" are otherwise there is ZERO reasons to own a tablet...
There is nothing that a tablet can do that a laptop can't.
But there are plenty of things a laptop can do that a tablet can't.
@@RK-um9tu If I’m laying down on my couch, I’m not using my freaking laptop with the keyboard. Makes no sense when there’s a nice and light tablet, only a screen, to watch vids.
Apple seriously needs to sell that black usb c cable post their stores. Look nice but not something I will do especially that I use anker cables
iPads need a propper OS, but that won't happen for reasons. Also, who thought the iPad needed to be thinner? It' was already worryingly thin, and the sound quality is worse now, like why appple? Typing this on tab ultra 9, lol, an arguably more useful product.
Thinner is lighter which is very important for a tablet. The S9 Ultra, while a great device is less easy to use as a tablet in your hand.
@@Isengardtom dont notice any difference between the two, its likely a personal preference. IMHO the screen size on S9U is far superior for media content consumption due to the aspect ratio.
I hate to point this out, but if your iPad Pro m2 is an 11 inch it did not have a MiniLED only the 12.9 inch models had that. Just shows that most people wouldn't notice the difference.
I have the M4, and had a Mini LED and normal LCD before. You will definitely notice the difference in quality. If you don’t, there’s something wrong with your eyes.
The leap from LCD to mini LED is pretty big. From Mini LED to OLED it’s less of a leap but still looks nicer

Surface pro 10 will win out for business. For Tablet use the iPad Pro will win easily as the surface pro is too heavy

iPad is a great product as a portable notepad "The 12.9 inch Model" especially the base variant. Spending that much for the highest storage variant is crazy. Still limited by software and that's adnauseam.
Lenovo tab extreme gen2 needs snapdragon x1 elite processor and full windows OS.
I must say that I'm not really impressed with the iPad Pro M4 (2024). Apple has always been a very overpriced company so I would say if you have a lot of money to burn and money's no object, well then you go with Apple products. I really don't see the need to upgrade to the latest and greatest if you already have the iPad Pro from a few years ago. Excellent video Andrew!! 👍😁
What they need to do is build things like Jobs would. The groundbreaking leader of high tech for high-tech power users. The artist, photographer, movie production engineering drafting you name it all high-end tech Macs have always been the leader. It needs to maintain that.❤

I have dodged a few bullets by watching this man. @Andrew Marc David if you see this comment, thank you for the great content big bro. I had one of my brothers from my church keep telling about this Ipad and he kept going on about how I am sleeping on it. I told him I will wait for a review. And here it is. Plus the really dumb part is, he is only an internet browser and not a power user, only consume content not create.
I have an idea, what if samsung made the tab s10 with x elite
Qualcomm must authorize thme to do it first, and I am not sure they would, but the 8 gen 4 will be based on the X chips so it shouldntt be far off
The user case should support the use of the chip. If they put windows and full funcionality for all software maybe otherwise no point to have a chip that is not used

Apple put the same chip as the Mac because that helps with longevity. But other than that the iPad Pro is overkill
Using Android and iOS as a laptop replacement is a nightmare.
When I travel I leave usually my PC on and then connect with with the tablet to the PC through remote control, in this way I have access to thunderbird with multiple accounts and all x86 apps I need
@@DrGiulioski so you're using your tablet as a monitor? I haven't had much success with Spacedesk or SuperDisplay. The connection is always spotty

I still don't see the point of those very big Ipad. Very expensive, same weight as a laptop with the keyboard, and no Mac OS. The CPU is a pure overkill for the use. An Ipad Mini makes more sense for most people if they want a proper tablet experience.
Only 3 performance cores is a huge dissapointment...

I've never like Apple products in a nutshell.
It's a social experiment of how far branding and hype can sell overpriced devices to consumers who don't want to look poor in front of their peers. I've literally seen middle aged men sitting at the cafe with their shiny iPad Pros, just swiping left to right, not having a clue of what to do with it.
You definitely dont look poor if you dont have this ipad pro. And evwryone clearly knows it.
