Days of Our Lives (also stylized as days of our lives - clear days or dolls) is an american television soap opera that airs on peacock. it aired on NBC from 1965 to 2022. it is one of the longest running scripted television programs in the world, airing almost every week since November 8, 1965. co-produced by corday productions and sony pictures television, the series was created by husband and wife team ted corday and betty corday.
During the early years of Days of Our Lives, Irna phillips (creator of former NBC stablemate other world as well as its former CBS rivals, as the world turns and guiding light) served as a story editor for the program and many of the show's opening storylines are from william J. bell, who would leave the series in 1975 to focus full-time on the young and the restless, which he produced for CBS in 1973.
After passion's cancellation in 2007, Days of Our Lives remained the only soap opera to air on NBC on August 3, 2022, NBC universal announced that it would be moving the series exclusively to its peacock streaming service starting september 12 after 57 years on the network and leaving NBC without a day long serial.
The series is set in the fictional city of salem, Illinois and focuses primarily on two families, the brady and horton families. however, other families are also highly represented, including the Diemera and Kiriakis families.
The character of alice horton (frances reid), mother of the series "horton family", has remained with the show since the death of its actress in 2010, although her last formal appearance was in december 2007.
Susan rogers, the longest serving current cast member on the show and the longest serving current cast member on the ongoing american soap opera, appeared on the show since August 1973.
Susan seaforth hayes currently the second longest serving actress on the show is the only performer to appear on Days of Our Lives. it has been on air for all seven decades, with the first appearing in december 1968. as a re-imagining of the original character Julie olsen.

The first picture shown of character Roman Brady is of Wayne Northrop who played the first and original role from 1981-84. Drake Hogestyn played Roman Brady (who is now John Black on the show ) from 1986-91 . Northrop returned to the role from 1991-94, and now Josh Taylor who is the second picture you posted has played Roman Brady from 1997 to present time. I have been watching Days Of Our Lives since the 60's when it was in black and white. 🙂😄
