Your show is a must watch for me and anyone who is interested in lighting.Thank you for the brilliant breakdown of each system.
Thanks , Andrew! I’ve been eyeing off this for a while. Got some cool ideas on how to rig this up. Peace!
Thanks for the review and your insights, as always. I'd love to see a tube light comparison video that looks at the advantages and disadvantages of the different tube lights on the market.
aputure is releasing theirs next week, so it would be an awesome comparison for sure !
This is very cool. I’ve been using something I made which is really just soft bags for the tubes and that have worked great but this looks fantastic.
This is neat! Thanks for sharing
I was wondering when we’d start seeing inflatable diffusion. Seems like an obvious solution to me. However the pricing seems to be kind of ridiculously high for what it is. I guess as a small company their production scale probably makes pricing difficult. But seriously $300-$3k for what amounts to a reusable cloth balloon is a hard pill to swallow. Bigger competitors are going to copycat and eat them alive.
That's my worry.
Yeah mate was thinking the same, it doesn't even have structural support inside and in terms of R&D is just a balloon with diffusing material in front.
I've been building this sort of setup by using appropriatly shaped paper lantern lights or in some cases just loosely wrapping diffusion around the tube. but i must say i'm happy that these sort of systems are being invented.
Awesome! 👍
Excellent! I like. 😎👍🏾🙏🏾
Very nice sir thank you very much
I imagine in the future it can also work with a flex LED strip, which could be less expensive than a tube light, and easier to pack away.
I must say that i like your reviews, but i do miss the more informative videos about the profession itself. What i personally would love to see would be something like a video where you go through what kind of gear you would prioritize if you would be building a brand new kit from scratch today. What stands? What modifiers? What lights, and wich lights would you start with and wich would come later? :)
were you watching my searches today? I was looking for softboxes for my tubes today! this is amazing I am going to order 5 or 6 for mines
Really nice. Thank you. I wonder how color stable that plastic will be over time.
Really cool. I wonder if we'll see a Helium compatible model!
You are my favourite
They should create some inner baffles to allow for airflow but blocking any light leaks. This seems a bit expensive for what it is though.
That looks awesome. Is there anything like this you can float with helium with LED tubes
Hi Andrew! For a small tabletop scene (3ft x 6 ft table). Would you recommend a 4ft tube with a caligri and skirt, or a skirted 1x 4 panel with grid? Does it matter? Thanks very much for your advice, I really love your videos!
I own a few of the light socks for Titan and Helios… I do like that this one can handle 2 Titan tubes… I have found that sometimes the Titan in lightsock, which should be similar to inside this inflatable… will sometimes overheat and throttle… this one might have advantage as the tube kind of sits on the outside and perhaps vents/cools a bit better? Did you do any testing of this rig at 100% for any length of time?
What’s the benefit of this system vs a classic soft box with gird and skirt ?
Excellent job as always! Have you seen the new Aladdin Mosaic lights? Are you gonna do a review on the models? I'm pretty excited since they're RGBWW, high power (350W the 2x4 and 600W the 4x4 and the 3x6) and have DMX and lumenradio incorporated. It seems like the answer from Aladdin to the Falconeyes RX-7120, but I guess Aladdin has best build and higher price point.
I only found out about the Alladin this morning, 3x6 is a great size, I just hope that it's fully integrated RGB with WW, not like the all-in-one
New forza 720/b just came out, will you be having a review on it soon? Looking forward to it!
I have one here, but I have been asked to hold off pending an accessory they want to show at the same time. Can't say more than that!
Andrew I need your help, I do have a few westcott flex cine in my kit but I recently bought a couple 1x3 westcott panels but they dont sell the proper softbox and eggcrate anymore, so what other brand solution do you recomend to get instead. Thanks in advance
I have no idea what will fit that light.
Actually im more interested in what you were using to control the titan tube
Exalux control one
Andrew, just wondering if there's a local Aussie distributor? They look great.
Not at present.
Nice Review... Have you seen that aputure Will release tubes?... I wondering if it would be a good idea to Buy a kinno housing and Buy 4 tubes for good amount of power and easy rigging and use some kind of diffusion over that... Or it would be a better idea just Buy the airtube
Problem with using an old school 4 bank kino shell is most tubes don't output light in the back 180⁰. So the reflector never gets filled giving you 4 district shadows. But with a solid enough diffusion it would work ok
Will it over heat the light?
Some of the tube lights I have reviewed get very hot, I think covering the back heat sink could be problematic with some lights. In my testing it never overhead a titan, but I wasn't using it on very hot days. My gut feeling is to be aware of it. I have nothing more to go on then a gut feeling.
Nothing for the Nanlite or Apurture/Quasar tube?
I have two quasar tubes and I purchased one from Caligri about a week ago. They said it should totally work!
At the end I have a Nanlite tube on it.
@@gaffergear I must be a forgetful idiot… sorry bout that.
Way too complicated to set up this light!
These are overpriced and useless.
Do you have AirTube to sell what value send your contact
I'm just a working lighting guy who reviews products in his spare time. I don't sell
@@gaffergear understand, thank you, I wanted to buy some and I wanted to know if you have any contact with a store that sells or a representative
@@alvarobispo7418 this has very limited world distribution at the moment. Best place to start is their website.
OK thanks
