I'm A PCSO And I Can Ask You To Delete That Video 😲🎥❌🤣🤣🤣

  • Today we take a look around Watford Police Station, Shady Ln, Watford WD17 1DD.
We have a little confusion with the Front Desk staff in regards to the opening hours and then take a walk around.
We then bump into a PCSO who really DOES NOT like the camera.
He persists to tell us how he doesn't like being recorded and ASKS members of the public to DELETE it.
I am so shocked by this that I need to speak to him more about this.
Then his Sargent arrives to clear things up for him.
We all depart on good terms and hopefully PS educates PSCO enough for a member of Watford's fine public never to be asked to delete a video ever again!
    Enjoy!

A highly unreasonable expectation in such a front facing job to not expect to be filmed/photographed. Bordering on ridiculous to routinely ask those who do to delete it. I also agree that anyone in uniform and a position of authority 'asking' you to do something is likely to be construed by many as an instruction.

Its hypocritical, considering the police record you with their body cameras, police cars record you with internal and external facing cameras, they record your image on ANPR and speed cameras, the police helicopters record you, and even police drones have cameras to record you. Even the council record you using pole mounted CCTV. There is no law gives them the right to record you then demand you dont record them.

Not only is it a mere public serving role (such as retail), he is 'community support', which other than local councillors / MPs is about as public as it gets. So much so, that you could have a public profile such as the officers detailed on the notice board. How you could expect or 'prefer' not ot be recorded in that role is unbelievable with the amount of personal cameras today. Maybe a role that is less public-facing would be more suitable for him.

By the way mate, I reckon you handled that one really nicely: no combat, no raised voices, and a decent man continues in his job without a blemish on his character. It's already quite hard enough finding out you were wrong, as every single viewer here knows. The sergeant was also very diplomatic and came across as a man of integrity. Absolutely first class, and I feel sure as I think you did that the PCSO is a very sound, decent man whose only fault was that he hadn't encountered the photography situation before. It was interesting to get his perspective.

Well done for pointing that out to the sergeant who tried shuffling his feet.😂 but seemed to speak to the PCSO who obviously still thought he had a right to object.

Interactions all polite, and no handy, handy agression by police. Areas of concern...lack of training to PCSO and the wearing of a gang badge by a sergeant. My rating therefore is a B+.
