Hand saw, speed square, block plane, jewelers saw / coping saw.
Table saw, jig saw, router all very much overkill. And you wouldn't have had to build the sled :)

Somebody needs to do a series where you bring in some absolute beginner and coach them through a project. That way, other beginners can see what challenges we’ll face when building. And demonstrate just how much of an impact talent and expert Ave on the outcome. I’d watch.

That is a fantastic idea, Coda. I hope that one of these woodworkers with a well equipped shop will do that. You know, Steve Ramsey did something like that during the lockdown. He guided a shoe salesman through making a shoe shine kit. He might be interested in doing a series like this.

I really appreciate this video series. Its hard to learn alot from woodworkers on CZcams bc almost all of them have what i consider a dream shop. Im also from and live in Ohio. Its hard to learn when most CZcams answers are well let me go over to my thousand dollar domino or my industrial sized planner. Most of us who want to learn especially in ohio cant afford 90 percent of the tools you see on most channels. I dont have any festool tools at all and cant aford them. My most expensive tool is my delta contractor tablesaw which took saving up income tax money to get. After watching a bunch of different woodworking channels it makes the little guys like us think its impossible to do anything without a million dollar shop. Its amazing to see an established woodworker go back to not having a shop to show us little guys that the dream is still possible. Its not just knowledge your sharing, its hope. That the little guys can still make it and eventually maybe be in a position like you are now. Loved your content and have been a subscriber for years. Thanks for the hope. From the heart of it all. Lol

You can also attach fabric to wood using regular wood glue. Spread some glue over both surfaces and let them dry (it's less messy and alignment is much easier). Them just go over it with an iron, just like edge banding. You can also get away with glue only on wood (you want your fabric glue-free to let it breathe) - it is a bit less durable but for your application it should work just fine.

I'm not a Luddite, but am getting a growing dislike of screws in favour of dowels if I can, so for me it was nice for to see you using them. Possibly for the future, instead of glueing the fabric, fold over the cut ends and staple to the shortest end, stretch, fold and staple at the centre of the other end and work along, finagle the corners and repeat the last instructions. Maybe a little longer time wise but less messy, and a well tried method. A couple of TV recommendations for you from the UK, which you'll probably have to stream. Salvage Hunters, about a (what you lot call Pickers) furniture dealer who restores and or repurposes items, goes by the name of Drew Pritchard, I think you'll like him, and a spin off series Salvage Hunters: The Restorers which I really enjoy, they show the many techniques used in restoration.
Really enjoy your vids/shows great stuff and you do spark up some ideas.

To be fair, it's not a prescription. At no point are you required to use the exact same tools. The idea is to get the tools you can afford at the time, and how to get beautiful results by using alternate tools and/methods; the tools and methods you have access to at the time. Being able to be creative with alternate tools and methods is much more valuable than using the exact same tools.

I like that you just threw a square on your sled and called it good. One of my daughters got married in June. I made her a round, walnut, end grain cutting board to use as a cake stand at the reception, then keep for her new home. I needed to build a sled to cut up all that walnut. I wasted entirely too much time fussing over the 5 cut method, and trying to get as close as everyone says the measurements should be. I finally just said, "You know what? It's wood, and I'm using clamps and glue. It will be okay." Then I slapped a machinist square on it, and called it good. Worked perfectly.

Yeah, many times I over think and over engineer things.

@MakeSomething for this series, you should choose a bunch of basic tools at the beginning and stick to them for the whole series. Otherwise, you're using an arsenal of tools, but just picking and choosing based on your needs for each project. Eg: table saw, router, jig saw, sander, drill, impact driver and clamps only for the whole series.
