- The outfit designer is a way of adding a fashion costume on top of your armor for your character - your armor is the pieces of gear that make sure you don't die in battle - but the costume is just the way your character looks, and you can change your armor in and out without having your costume be affected. This video also covers what kinds of cool armor you can get including bought gear, crafted gear, cartel market gear, reputation gear and crating dye modules!
I also separate out how to get some of the best looking armor in the game that isn't on the cartel market - you can customize your character's armor in the game without spending real money.

That is a very rare set... I've been daydreaming lately about making a character with it just so I can do the Shadow of REvan expansion and have a revan-vs-revan showdown.. but it's so expensive!
i have such a digital man crush on Revan that i refused to not have both sets on release of both. The Revan Gloves (set 1) took me 3 years to aquire. The Revan Reborn set I managed in a month of release BUT that was with help from guild mates who hooked me up. So in turn i gave them a lot of my rare to super rare drops from boxes.Revan Reborn looks sexy as hell in all black :)

Revan's mask for me i managed to get twice. Once via Cartel Certificates and once in a pack way later. It took me 3 years to get the damn gloves though.
Half of my time spent in this game is trying to get the best looking armor for my characters :)
I also definitely spend way too much time on outfits haha...

hijena ??? Speaking of weapons, when will they add weapons to outfit designer. I hate when I find nice looking weapons but I don't want to use them cuz of low stats.
One thing that I think SWTOR really has going for its the ability to customize your look, particularly your outfit. Bioware can be pretty shameless with its reskins though.
LOVE how many options there are in this game. No end of combos. But I would never say no to more unique armors!
I personally can't commit to pvping on toon unless it has a really cool look!

This was a great idea. Every MMORPG needs to have "social armor slots" to look like you want to look while keeping all of your great stats.
EDIT: You can totes wear light/medium/heavy armor on any type of character in the outfit designer.
qustion, you have numbers on your health bars and that of the enamy, how did you get those?
In the interface editor - you need to click on the Character bar, in the windows that open up, flag "Show Information Text" on, and it will show the numbers on the health bar

I am currently saving up for a Pure Sith character via the free cartel coins from having a security key and would like for that character to have Sith Eradicator armor. Now.. if the armors i want would not be so expensive i would be so happy. But most of the good armor costs like 90 mil. which is just about every credit i have. That is just.. yeah.
Some of them are SO expensive! Credit inflation is crazy right now. At least you know you have good taste :P

I bought a sith recluse armor for 64 Mil. And that was just the chest. Thats so much money.. I really want a havoc squad armor. But not even the whole armor just legs, helmet and the boots. But each of those costs around 20 - 40 mil creds. I gonna have to farm for the rest of my life to get them...
Ouch! But yeah that set is one of the most-wanted in the game. Time to start saving up for havoc haha.
One time a friend offered to trade some graphics for havoc squad set.. I was like YEAH SURE!!! turns out it was the other havoc set haha.

Excellent as always. Though one thing I'd suggest mention checking for look a like pieces of expensive armor sets. They"be been doing a lot of retextures lately. So sometimes you can find a similar piece for far fewer credits.

Another great guide! Thanks again. Every guide you upload makes me wanna play SWTOR more and more. Even though I only have male characters, I must say, the armor at 0:30 looks pretty darn good!
There is a LOT of armors that look especially good on male characters - a lot of them don't quite sit right on female characters. But that one black/white/spiderweb outfit is really cool, I think you can get it from alliance crates around level 65 ish!

The armor from the pirate's cove looks so classy. I rock my trooper with primary purple on all the gear without a head piece...she's Togruta, so no helm anyways. Aric, her husband has the same without the dye. They look so cool together. If it hadn't been so expensive to do it, I would've had all of Havoc Squad wearing the same gear to make it the theme armor for Havoc.
I just gave my Jedi Guardian Mandalorian armor with a Jedi Knight chest piece. Definitely an awesome feature of the game!

They call this feature transmog in World of Warcraft. Glad to see SWToR finally add it as well. I finally got the Darth Malgus set for my Sith Assassin from an ultimate cartel pack. I was so excited to get it 🎉

I've been playing this game since the beginning and either didn't realize this feature existed, or forgot.
I've pretty much just put mods in whatever gear I wanted to use. I'd probably done the whole switching my look up per planet/chapter if I'd been taking advantage of this.
Something to remember to have fun with in the future.

I made a super epic custom costume today. I brought all the spectre gear less than 1mil total (it's bronze class) then I added a black and dark gray dye to it( I use the unify colours) that dye added to it makes the costume look like gold class. I also brought volatile derelict light sabers. One from gtn and a reclaim of that, and added a gold ev crystal to each. The weapons go really well with the costume. I thought I'd share this story to encourage the idea that having bronze gear doesn't always make you look cheap.

I'm a continuos returning player, and every time I try to play a new class... But I always end up repeating the inquisitor ⚡ story, I don't really know why but I LOVE IT!
The voice acting, the story and the way the class plays, both as a assassin and a sorcerer ahhhh! I'm obsessed 😍.
My main is an Arkanian slave (BioWare please give us pure white eyes or a new race 🙏🏻) who was separate from her twin sister when they were young, the sister became my jedi knight, tormented by her fragmented memory of her childhood, and my little psychopath became a sith sorceress when she was noticed by another sith who was "shopping" for a new slave (my very first character, a miraluka sith assasin).
She wants to change the empire but can't stomach the ipocracy of the Republic, and jedi, who still permits the existence of faction such as the hutt cartel while playing the higher morality card against the Empire, for her the Empire at least show right away what it is about and if you are strong you can have your freedom.
(PS: I don't share her views and I just like the narrative ... Eat the rich ❤)

one thing missed with legacy gear. you can put the armouring, mods, enhancements, & augs, then if you have a character on the opposite faction that you would like to play, you would the legacy gear in you bank in hole, the other character would take it out. it will carry over any set bonus from faction to faction. ie:jugg to knight. great way for raiders to swap gear just run on the opposite faction.

+HP McDoogle I would definitely NOT suggest buying the packs and hoping for chance. The odds mostly work out that you spend more in packs due to their rarity.

Wanted to ask what your 2 favorite classes/adv classes have been since you’ve been here from the beginning. And do they have player level boosts like WoW does for returning players? I used hotspot for a few months and hotspot on my commute.. it's not ideal, but it's ok! My fav character is Vanguard trooper tank. Second favorite... I have a lot haha. Probably a tie between sith assassin tank and sage telekenetics.

Now this is nice feature. i remember when i played this was not in the game :/ You were locked to looks as your armor is. Some looked really silly :D

So at the designer sheet, it’ll only show the low but cool designed armor set yet I’ll retain the high stats from the other armor worn on my character too?
I have a Sith Marauder that wears the Exiled Masters robes and a blue and a green lightsaber, it makes him look like a Jedi, supposed to fool people into believing he is one

I have a question if you have time. I have a chest from the cartel (MA-35) it is not part of a set and it says that it is "unlocked for my other charatcer" or something along those lines. Same message as when you have full set of another armor. But I don't have the button to pay 60CC to transfer it to my other toon.
Is it because it is a too old armor?
Does that happen to all the armor that are not part of a set in the collection?

Yeah I have one of those too. It's very confusing. Basically any armor you could buy form the cartel market (you might have got yours on the GTN form another player) that had STATS can not be unlocked for legacy by paying. They actually recently deleted all those types of armors from the GTN.

Swtorista hello I love watching you videos my favorites are the armor videos for the Bounty Hunter and Sith Warriors, have you seen or heard of the Apex Predator armor for Sith Warriors? I've been trying to find it on the gtn (Galactic Trade Network) but no luck could you make a video on how to get that armor set if not that's okay thank you in advance, and you're doing a great job keep up the good work.
Apex Predator is a set bonus set for the trooper... its only wearable by Troopers and Bounty Hunters, even in the Outfit Designer. And it's reallly hard to get via operations or kai zykken.

Hey Swtorista! Just wondering, do you know of any cheap (as cheap as possible - pref under 200k) armor sets for jedi consulars (sage in particular, though I think the sage and shadow's style are very simillar - please correct me if I'm wrong :D)?
Nothing specific - when I want a new look I usually just head to the GTN, use the dropdowns to get adaptive armor, then sort by price. Prices change too much over time to be able to point out "cheap" armor.

+Steven Zhunio-Hoffman that's what I mean yep :) all orange-birder items are modifiable and some purple ones are too.
Can someone please try to explain to me more understandable, so If you wear armor for protection on your default slots, you get the protection, but if you put the decorative armor in the outfit slots, the decoration will stay as looks, but the default armor keeps on giving you protection?
+Lord Dish that is EXACTLy how it works Dish :) the outfit slots are just for fun like a costume. You could be wearing a bikini in them and still get the protection from your default slots armor.
I have an bounty hunter lvl 21 and i have a really cool combination eith helfire and pilot armor but my helfire helmet isnt showing unless i use it as an actual armor piece...how do i wear it as an outfit?
You might have the "hide head" option checked for your outfit. Go to your outfit, and look for a small symbol of a piece of armor on the right edge of the panel. Double clicking it will bring up the options box
