Here's a little background about how I became a real estate agent in Georgia. First and foremost, this exam is not easy and definitely no walk in the park. It takes time, effort and dedicated studying to be fully prepared for this exam to become a legal, licensed real estate agent. In this video, I talk about all the things I wish I knew BEFORE taking this exam the first time around (and yes I did fail my first time taking it). But even though I failed the first time, it was a huge learning experience. By taking it the second time around, I was 200% more prepared and knew what I was getting myself into...because trust me, the exam isn't exactly word for word with the pre-licensing course and what you practice on there.
Without anyone to ask or look up too (not even anything on CZcams!), I created this video to share my findings and KEY THINGS TO STUDY/REMEMBER AND KNOW before taking this real estate exam to (hopefully!) pass your first time :)
REAL ESTATE EXAM
- Total of 152 graded questions, separated into 2 different portions (100 National questions, 52 State related questions)
- Minimum score of 109 questions correct out of 152 to pass exam
- Test makers designed this exam based off of 3 criteria: (1) Recall (2) Apply (3) Analyze
- National portion tests on 11 topics (full list in video, 6:24)
- State portions tests on 3 topics (full list w/ subtopics, 9:09)
REAL ESTATE EXAM: MY TIPS
-- Use the bookmark tool when taking the exam to help you mark which questions you need to come back too when you don't know the answer off the top of your head!
-- Take as much practice tests as you can!
-- Do not focus solely on the vocabulary! Know them in terms of context.
-- Review the pre-licensing course! Go through the emphasized parts.
-- Study the major topics I mentioned in this video!

I used some Kaplan, some AceableAgent and read a lil oncourse learning . I did 3 real estate exam scholar and my result came back failed
My friend made it with his help.
I made it through him too, he works with the National association of realtors(NAR) as an I.T engineer for the board data base.
I believe you, I've heard so many good things about him
At first, I read all this like an original story until I
contacted Mr Willard myself and passed before i believe in his works.
Wish I would have seen this early took my Georgia for the first time and failed. Should have applied the book mark like I started will make sure next time. My exam prep course didnât prepare me for state questions thanks. God Bless!

Also since I live in Colorado, for the state portion of the exam is it still those topics I should study but just focused in the CO state or do you think the topics will be completely different as well the subcategories?

I worked in the industry for several years and stoped.Now I have to take the exame over again and I am super nervous. My test is coming up in 2 weeks. You'll do great! Make sure you buy a practice exam book on Amazon or your nearest bookstore and do all the practice problems on there! Good luck on your exam!! Show them who's boss!!!

Passing the Real estate test is when you study hard, if you canât study or you don't have time for your studies l'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Willard

I recently passed the national portion of the exam but failed the Pennsylvania state portion. Luckily in my state, I just have to retake the state portion and not the whole thing.
Oh nice! I had no idea that you could take the national and state portions separately, but congrats on passing the national portion! If you can, I'd suggest getting a Pennsylvania specific prep book. Using extra resources like textbooks really helped me. Good luck on your real estate journey! Let me know when you pass your state exam :)

I dropped out of college last year to pursue my dream of becoming a real estate agent and it worked. Itâs really worth it and I have no regrets. Been an amazing journey but itâs not as easy as I thought anyways

The problem with this is- There is a database of questions, every test taker has different questions. How can you study any one booklet of questions. Just my opinion.
Hi @Theresa! I totally understand where you're coming from. Now of course the exam prep book didn't have the exact same questions as the exam but the format was very similar. Especially the wording of the questions, which helped the most.

Prep agent said that all questions are worth the same amount , but you said some are worth different points ugh
