Yup! If you act like a victim you get treated like a victim. Victims don't get to choose.

OK, but just remember, when some overbearing evil tyrant comes along and beats you into the hospital, or steals your property at gun point, or breaks into your house and robs you, just remember: that happened to you because you were acting like a victim.
People say some of the stupidest things.

Great stuff, David. So true. My mom was crippled by blaming others for her problems. I have similar problems that I could attribute to her but I've always chosen to accept them as my own problems because I'm a grown ass man and can change if I want to, if I put in the time and effort to do so.

People have a negative relationship with responsibility which is really our "ability to respond" powerfully.

Honestly, believing in and following this mindset will totally change your world. Blaming others is such a crippling way of moving through life. You become stronger, smarter, and more assertive when you take responsibility for what's wrong, and figure out ways of fixing it.
Sadly, humans LOVE to place blame because it's the easy way out. Stop doing it. You're doing yourself and the person you're blaming a disservice.
    Thanks David.

Stumbled on this one a little late, but it's awesome. I have to forward it to my kiddos. They've heard this all before, but somehow they need to hear some of these lessons from someone other than their parents in order for it to sink in.Thanks for a great reminder.

"Those who have the ability to take action, have the responsibility"
This speaks to me in big, big ways, David :) Over the past few years I've gone through some life altering health issues, ending up critically ill in hospital for about two months, then having to move back in with parents for a couple years. I lost almost everything, but I kept going and kept fighting, and now I'm back on my feet again, back in my own home, and I'm back on CZcams creating things, building, and doing, because I _will not_ be stopped from doing what I love to do.

Great video. Stop being a victim and take control. If your a victim of life and don't change your paradigm life will always be hard. Take control and make positive steps to improve. Share your life with positive people and remove negative people. Easy to say but you'll be surprised that it's easier than you think to change.

One of my favorite concepts about life is about attitude. (paraphrasing) Most times the only thing in life you can control is your attitude towards it. Having a sh*tty attitude about life's challenges makes you and everyone around you miserable. Having a positive/determined attitude won't magically remove those challenges, but you and people around you will be more likely to overcome them.

I absolutely refuse to take responsibility for your stupidity.
If you broke it, you broke it.
If you gave me bad advice and I failed as a result of your bad advice; you are responsible for that failure. I'm only responsible for being ignorant and giving you the benefit of the doubt.
There is a mess of bad advice out there. Don't blame the failures on those who followed it not knowing any better; blame the failures on the ones that are scamming people and directing people towards failure with bad advice.
In closing, don't blame those same people for not being willing to listen to advice that sounds just as good as all that bad advice that caused the failures.
Rather than throw accusations at people, why not lead them to the advice that helped you succeed and keep in mind that not everyone is in a house where they can build a shop and start woodworking.
