    Hi my name is Danielle, welcome to my True Crime and Makeup series! I’ve been interested in true crime for the longest time now, what started with me watching true crime on TV with my Nan from a young age eventually turned into studying for a degree in Law & Criminology.
    When I first watched Bailey Sarian’s series I was completely hooked, I loved how she had combined two of the things I’m most passionate about and delivered it so well. She totally inspired me to take the leap and do the same thing on my channel, so all credit for the idea goes 100% to her.
    I’m from the UK and will be covering cases from both the UK and internationally, let me know if there are any cases that you’d like to see from me! More cases will be coming soon so please subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

Luckily she had a registered firearm in her glove box. She managed to get to it & pulled it on him. He actually gave up & ran away (not long they caught him-this is part of thecase prior Klass). The amount of coverage this darling angel Polly received, reminds me a lot of that case. I'll never understand anything that happens to children, these 2 cases have brought much needed attention to these crimes, and I'm sure many parents are grateful, but there will always be such a massive whole in our hearts for both of these 2 kids. My thoughts go out to the Klaas family, of course. But I'm really wondering & curious to know how her 2 little friends Kate & Jillian made out after what happened to their best friend. Obviously they are not little girls anymore, but imagine having to go on after that. Go to school, play in the band, starting high school. All of the things they would've done with Polly. I really hope that they are ok today. I hope they had a lot of support & were able to get some counseling! My thoughts are definitely with them, as they had to witness seeing their bestfriend be taken by a horrible monster, that should've never been there in the 1st place. ❤

      I know a known ssxual abuser who was let off with community service (150 hours for two counts, so 75 hours per count) and a lifetime on the sex offenders list after admitting to his crimes (he initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea when he saw the mountain of evidence against him). The so called justice system enables abusers and horrible people because it doesn't punish them when it should, even when they are occasionally found guilty. Yet people who have the tiniest bit of marijuana have ridiculously high prisonsentences. It's barbaric.

    • @Emma-vb8gg
      @Emma-vb8gg Před rokem +3

      It’s quite remote that a burglar might become a child murderer though. And you can only punish people for the crimes they actually commit. Prison is not rehabilitative - it’s a punishment/deterrent. Rehabilitation of offenders is important to prevent further offences being committed.

    • @SouthernMimi2
      @SouthernMimi2 Před rokem +6

      @@marnie9063 I agree. I was just thinking, when she was talking about why couldn’t let someone else out for overcrowding, that there are people in there for way less offensive reasons. To be honest I would rather let a drug dealer out than a repeat offender if I had to choose. I’m not so worried about people who sell marijuana vs thiefs, sexual predators, violent offenders or repeat offenders. Don’t get me I think all offenders should serve their time but if you had to let someone out, let out someone who is not possibly going to harm someone else. Or maybe shorten the time it takes to elicited someone on death row. People on death row shouldn’t be sitting there for 20 to 30 yrs. Execute their death sentence quicker.

    • @Emma-vb8gg
      @Emma-vb8gg Před rokem +1

      It’s not a case of “until you kill someone”. It’s a case of proportionate punishment. The US doesn’t focus on rehabilitation which explains their lengthy prison sentences and lack of assistance from probation. In the UK you’ll spend half the time inside and half on probation (post sentence supervision) and it’s during this time you’ll work with probation with a view to rehabilitating you and moving you away from criminal behaviour.
      Other sentences including rehabilitation work with probation on a community order, rehabilitative work on a suspended sentence order etc etc. If you have a prospect of rehabilitation then that’s the sentence that should be given in the first instance. Obviously, in the public interest and safety, rehabilitation is not a consideration in a lot of very serious cases (ie crimes where there are mandatory minimum prison sentences).

    • @SouthernMimi2
      @SouthernMimi2 Před rokem +1

      @@Emma-vb8gg true but someone who burglarizes a home or business has a high chance of something going wrong or someone dying. So they need to stick to their punishments. They often let these people out before they even do half their time. So that just shows the criminal well being taken not like I’m gonna have to do all my time so what’s it gonna hurt to do the crime again.

      I am not even a mom and I remember babysitting a toddler doing my homework at the coffee table and letting him play right in front of it. He was just learning to walk and tripped over a toy and started to fall into the corner of the glass top coffee table. Everything went into slow motion. I lunged forward tried to grab him to stop him from hitting his head and didn’t catch him in time. He ended up needing several stitches and I cried almost as much as he did. It still really upsets me 30 years later. Poor kiddo. I am still mad that I let him play next to that coffee table because it was easy for me to do my homework there. I should’ve known better. I don’t think giving birth necessarily gives you empathy and kindness if you never had it before. Seems like his mom gave birth but didn’t ever want to actually parent. Some people really shouldn’t be parents. Sad.

    I’m snuggling with my cat right now. Whenever I hear about kids abusing animals and playing with fire, it hits me in a very personal way.
    I had an adopted brother (we are all adopted, but my brother was adopted at age 4 from an orphanage in Germany) he had what we now know as Attachment Disorder. He was born in 63 as was my adopted sister. I was born in 69. My “brother” was a sociopath. He was a fire starter, bed wetter, animal abuser, sexual deviant. He held us at gun point when he was 12. I obviously have horrible memories of him. My parents tried their best to get him help but he was beyond their abilities to help. They had to protect my sister and I.
    I am grateful to my parents, they did a wonderful job. The person I refer to as my brother was out of my life for the most part when I turned 6. I did lot’s of therapy. We did therapy as a family unit.

    That has been my biggest fear since I was prob. 8 y/o? I used to get scared that one of the people on America's Most Wanted would come into my window at night, & kidnap me🤦‍♀️I had this reaccuring dream for 4 yrs that a car was going to stop next to me while I was walking, & take me. It took 4 yrs to actually get to the end. Then a few years after I had this dream, a similar car stopped right next to me-literally the same spot!!! It wound up being a friend's dad (whomever she did not live with) & his friend was driving. I barely knew him, & when they stopped, he was like "hi, remember me, I'm Jenny's dad"!!! U could tell he was a bit off. I stopped for a brief moment, & realized that it was weird af that he would make his friend stop, just to talk to his daughters friend that he's only met when picking up his daughter for the wknd. So, I BOOKED IT!! I didn't even say a word. I was only 3 blks away from home, but it may have been 3 miles. Longest moments of my life. I'm glad I had that dream, because that situation was weird, but I also always listened to my parents, & he was a stranger so...yeah.
    It's tragic that she had to endure that. The last moments of her life were spent living her worst nightmare. Such a rare occurrence that someone just sneaks in ur window, & kidnaps a child-or an adult, & it happened to her. It never siezes to amaze me how sick people can be, but I get reminded every week.

    Hi Danielle & thank you for case video. This is a very sad case. Polly's father did an emotionally-packed video about this crime. This criminal was, is, & would always be a monster. One of Richard's crimes(kidnapping/legal sec'y) reminds me of my 1980 ordeal as a paralegal leaving after long day of work & walking towards my car late at night in Miami a man attempted to kidnap me however luckily that day I was just so tired, angry, and moody from working overtime...that I just spun around quickly yelling at him to the top of my lungs and was about to deck him but he ran away. I don't know if I could've done that if I would have had a good day prior to that.

    Danielle my husband and I have been watching you since the beginning. There are 2 stories heavy on my mind for a very long time. Both quite bizarre! The first one is extremely unsettling, Magdalena Zuk. An intensely unsettling murder at a resort in Egypt, just beyond bizarre. The second is Karlie Guse, a young girl who went missing is extremely questionable circumstances, still unsolved and missing. Her stepmother has been extremely odd acting since the night.I got really obsessed with this case in a very unhealthy way. My husband asked me to stop researching it. I became paranoid and nervous and just really unsettled. I still try low key researching a bit. I would love to hear your perspective on it. I could help with research that I have on it, if you would like. If there is a way to let me know if you would consider it at least, I would love to know and help anyway I can. As someone who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disease along with watching how they affect others from my father for so many years of my life. There are many forms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I am overly emotional at time for certain but it does not just make someone a sociopath, it does not make me crazy and talk to myself and not know reality from fantasy or right from wrong. These are sick minded individuals with disorders that can seem like it is the cause of their actions and mental processes. It sucks never being able to speak about my issues because the general knowledge is just that our emotions are non existent and we are just crazy people.The individuals themselves are the monsters. Simply being schizophrenic or bipolar will not make you so. There are many levels and many means to manage and live a mostly normal life with either or both of those issues. I always love your videos and you do everything you can to keep it respectful to everyone, thank you! I just have heard mention of this in a few videos now and wanted to mention a little something.
