- Could you live in a remote rural village? Let’s walk together, relax and explore these three quintessential little villages in the heart Leicestershire.

I live in a village in England with no shops. We have a pub, a church, a school with around 60 pupils and a village hall. It’s peaceful and I love it 😊
So peaceful! Do you all know one another? I expect the sense of community is lovely! 😊

Enjoyed the walk through the "blissful" little villages. I especially liked the white Georgian. So glad to see the iconic red phone booths are still around and repurposed.
I too love to see a red telephone box, they remind me of my childhood, wrestling with the heavy door 😂

The pure white home in Thorpe Langton was my favorite. The white color is so unique. I am amazed that the grass is still so green this time of year in England. And the red phone boxes have always been a favorite of mine. Thank you for this magical tour. You are very blessed to live where you do! Happy New year, Angela!
Aww thank you! Yes, we are still looking quite green everywhere, but weirdly “winter” doesn’t feel like it’s started yet, it’s very mild here, and we’ve had so much rain, our village flooded in a few places…wishing you a very happy & healthy new year! 🥂😘

Hehe 😉 I’m glad I’m not the only one who plays the game, I’m always so fussy to, saying things like “well, I wouldn’t have that shaped swimming pool” or “I don’t like the windows” when clearly I’d never be able to afford a million pound house anyways 🤔😂😂

It’s strange because I’ve not visited Germany, except for Heidelberg! Many years ago, when I was a teen! I remember it as being very beautiful 🤩 I’d love to explore more of Germany one day!

I was in the pub in Tur Langton, opposite the 1665 house with the wonky window, on New Year’s Eve afternoon ! The Church, almost opposite, is really strange, it’s built in brick and is massive in proportion to the village. Really beautiful English village. All round there really waterlogged at that time !
Oh my!! Do you live locally too? We said the exact same thing!!! What a large and (sorry to say) ugly church 😂 it doesn’t seem to fit in? Beautiful village though so we won’t hold it against them haha
@@hideawaycottage No, I live in Chesterfield, but my daughter and son in law live in Mountsorrel, near Quorn and I try to visit them as often as I can , but they are both still working. I really love Leicestershire and would like to move down there sometime in the future. We called in the Coach and Horses art Queniborough on the way back, which is another lovely village round there and the pub is lovely.

Never fails to amaze me how green things remain over there throughout the winter. I would live in any one of those homes, they all look magical to me 😌✨🍀
Yes! We are still very green everywhere so far, but I have to say “winter” has get to really kick in! It’s been weirdly mild… although we are having so much rain, our village had some flooding yesterday x

Thank you for the visit. I couldn’t pick one of the homes. They seemed so large to me. I live in a small house about 1100 square feet. But they were all beautiful with lovely lawns. 😊

I think I’d like a Georgian house for the high ceilings! Our son is now 6ft and he’s having to duck under all the doors and in some of the rooms in our cottage 🫣😂

Lovely. I live in the US and I just love the old architecture over in England that we don't have much of here.
Like the curves for example, we have mostly squares and rectangles in our buildings.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching 😊 oh yes, we do have lots of wonky and curved walls, we alway say our cottage hasn’t a single straight wall or floor, haha, we had to cut the back legs off our sideboard so it was level 😂
I couldn’t live anywhere where, if I ran out of milk or whatever I couldn’t just take a shortish walk or drive a couple of minutes in the car.
My village is semi rural, we have a small co-op & post office, butchers, pharmacy, GP surgery, hairdressers, little coffee shop, 2 pubs with restaurants and a veterinary clinic.
We have most things one needs really…plus it’s a very pretty place 8 miles from Chester.
Oh lovely, it’s been years since we visited Chester, a lovely place. Your village sounds similar to ours, still feels rural but with all the essentials 😊

I'd live there in a heartbeat. But although I am from a commonwealth country with a Bachelor of Education degree, UK Immigration isn't interested in me cos I'm "too old" at 54 years of age! Never mind. I'll enjoy all this beauty from afar via your vlogs and the occasional holiday! ❤

Wow! I can't believe the price of homes in England these days. Seems to have changed a lot since we left in the 60's when my parents brought the family to the US for work.
Hi! Oh yes, house prices are crazy! These villages are very desirable so probably don’t reflect the “typical” cost… but generally all around the UK it’s getting harder for people to get on the property ladder. Wishing you a very Happy New Year… thank you for watching ☺️

Haha good point! Although, I have used our village shop for dinner ingredients for tonight, I’m so disorganised I rely on grabbing bits last minute! The little villages are lovely quiet though 👌
I couldn't deal with nowhere to buy milk or bread or meat.
Oh I know, I love having a shop in our village, as I’m always needing something last minute for dinner!
