Our dear pets don't live long enough for us, which is so hard. It's worth it for every day that we receive their devoted love, but it's very painful when we have to say goodbye. I'm so sorry for your loss.
On another note, you make a good point about social media and how, naturally, everyone wants to put their best foot forward, but sometimes things go wrong. I hope you'll be able to get everything back from France soon.
Your lavender sachets must smell amazing! And your bike ride to your parent's house was so scenic.

So sorry for your loss of your precious dog Bentley. Unfortunately we had to put down our dog Milly , one month ago after having her for almost 10 years. She was a rescue and brought some much joy. I cry almost everyday because everything around the house reminds me of her. Fortunately, we still have our other dog and cat to keep our spirits up. I feel your pain and hope it gets easier with time.
Ah bless you, I can completely understand your heartbreak in missing Milly. We were just taking last night, when we went to the village Christmas fair, how much we miss him, there were so many dogs there in their Christmas jumpers and he’d of loved being fussed over too, I thought it would start getting easier, and some days are, and then it hits me again… they bring so much joy and the worse pain too. Oh Angela, it is so good to see you again and watch your beautiful videos of France, but this video really touched me. Firstly, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet, precious Bentley. My daughter and I watched your house tour video (which featured him) and we fell in love with him. May his spirit be with you always. Secondly, I’m so sorry the holiday was a disaster. Thankfully nobody was hurt. You are so down to earth and real and vulnerable in this video. That is why I love your channel so much. You keep it real and authentic, and share not just the highs in life but the lows in life too. The bike ride looking over at the countryside made me feel SO homesick for England. Totally empathise about your beloved dog. We said goodbye to our dear old friend a few months ago. Where we used to live in Provence, the stalks of lavendar were crushed to make lavendar oil, in early May. Heavenly smell for miles! I always keep my lavendar heads intact for lavendar bags. Shame about your van. We’ve staycationed for years as we cant bear to leave our dogs or tie them up on campsites. Enjoy

I love the smell of lavender 💜 yes, we had to many lovely holidays staying in a cottages in Norfolk or in caravans and Bentley always loved going on “holibobs” he was always more excited than the kids… really wish we’d not gone away and left him for a week, but I guess hindsight is wonderful, we just miss him so much…I hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend and have some sunshine to sit in ☺️☀️

Hey 👋 so sorry for my late reply! How are you? Anymore holidays in the pipeline? Our camper is now stuck in a garage in the Uk 😂 waiting for a part to arrive today, so fingers crossed it’ll be back on the road soon x x

Aw thank you Leslie, actually a very strange thing happened in the garden last week… we have a huge magnolia type tree/bush… and it’s never flowered in the 5 years we’ve lived here… and last week one single white flower appeared, it stayed for just a day, then the petals fell off, I’m taking it as a sign from Bentley 🥰

So so sorry to hear about your loss. I can totally totally sympathise about your gorgeous Bentley. I lost my darling Tess three years ago and I still miss her every day. I have a new little girl 🐶now, Tilly, and she’s a little angel, so maybe one day you might find another little boy or girl doggy to love. Meanwhile let the tears flow whenever they want to. One day the lovely memories will outweigh the grief and sadness.

Oh my lovely, I’m not even a quarter way through this video but I just absolutely felt the need to say that you are being so very, very gracious throughout this incredibly painful and intensely stressful time. If I could reach through my iPad to give you the biggest hug I most definitely would 🤗🤗 Please try to just make time for yourself to properly process and grieve for your dearest boy Bentley. You have been dealt a proper triple-whammy of awful events so rightly so you will feel overwhelmed, but one little step at a time , one little half an hour at a time , whatever it takes. Everything with your camper-van will be sorted eventually. Your belongings are all safe and YOU and your family are all together and safe. Maybe try to get out and about together to build on the happiness you felt before your holiday and hold on to as much laughter, light moments and the wonder of your beautiful family around you as you possibly can. You are SO much braver than you realise for sharing your raw feelings at this moment in time, but please know that your little CZcams community is right here with you, wishing you love and peace back into your life as soon as possible xx❤

Thank you for being so understanding, initially the house being empty was hard, but I actually think the garden is worse as he always followed me about, and loved to lay in the sun ☀️ I feel terrible that I’ve neglected the garden so much, especially as everything has grown such a lot, but hopefully in time I’ll feel like cracking on again…I suppose the great think about gardening is that it’s all fixable! Hope you have some relaxing time this weekend x

Hello Anna, thank you for your kind words, yes, he really was like my third child! In fact when the teens didn’t want to know me 😂 Bentley was always happy to be with me! Dogs are so special 😍 I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves the scent of lavender, I often choose it for shower gel and body lotion too x wishing you a relaxing weekend x x

Oh I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Bentley. Clearly you loved him. I lost my 14 year old dog Chester unexpectedly in June. It truly is heartbreaking. ❤ I’m glad your daughter is better. You’ll have other holidays, but until you “recover” you’ll have fabulous staycations at your lovely home. I could almost smell the lavender through the video! 😊 Take care.

I've been abroad and missed your videos so much! So sorry to hear you've had such a difficult time. I recently had to have 3 cats put down because they caught a horrible virus. It really is a terrible thing to have to do. I still feel the guilt and pain over this but try to remember that they are no longer suffering. I can't bring Bentley back but I am sending you a virtual hug x

You all will go through a whole range of emotions that will rock your very soul! …..it’s never a quick fix it’s awful 😢 it’s the price we pay for loving them! I so get your crying and random feelings of emotionally wanting to run away from reminders and feelings not a nice time for sure! But you know I went up to our Cotswold home this weekend to get away but you know I hated it (I love the Cotswold home) but not this time I had to return home to base just to be near my baby girl I got more comfort from this! I have my baby girl in a casket because where we go she comes (some might not agree) very person decision but you know your home was your little boys happy place your beautiful cottage your gorgeous garden maybe try and think how he loved your home and know he will always be in your heart and near you (I really believe he will be) as will my girl …..time will ease the shock and initial stab to the heart ♥️ we will never ever forget them they are locked in our heart and soul……this is my 7th time of going through this never gets any easier but we always go back for more 🐾🐾 it’s why us fur baby parents make the best parents! The deep love we have for them they will always to us all be family. Big hugs 🫂 ♥️🌹🌈xx
