Today we have this classic 2015 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
Was thrilled to have the opportunity to spend some time with this 4Runner and understand the culture behind this SUV.
The 4runner, like its Tacoma sibling have a cult like following and after being with this car, I understand why. It was such a cool experience being with this SUV. The color alone made you want to turn around and look at it every time you walked away. The waves and smiles you get as you drove around made you feel so cool and happy to be driving this.
Yes this is an old car, the chassis is old and very similar to the one from the early 2000's, so yes there were some complaints with the underpowered engine, the iffy brakes and some old tech, but the car is meant for reliability more so than being a tech marvel or a sporty SUV. This SUV is meant for those not fearing the wilderness knowing that they'll get home after their journey.
The 4.0 L V6 produces only around 270 horses, with terrible MPG and a slow 0-60 of 7.5 seconds. The values are high, so if you're looking for an SUV that has better handling, a more refined ride or better performance, there are plenty of options to look else where.
This was a fun SUV to be with that put's a smile on your face and I finally understand the love that people have for this and the Tacoma sibling!
