Plese, please for the love of God DO NOT call horrible torture, kidnap and burning alive your daughter "bullying". Not only that word is now overused to the point of becoming meaningless, you also are contributing to the incredibly absurd and mentally damaging narrative that equates ANY amount of emotionall distress caused by others to torture and rape. It's the kind of parallel that encourages victimism and snowflakeism to the toxic current extent. NO, being called nasty things online by a 12 y.o a continent away DOESN'T compare to being physically bullyied at the scholl for being a nerd... and ABOVE ALL neither of those compare to your parents abusing and torturing you in the most horrifying way imaginable. Don't throw all those in the same bag, it's truly detrimental at all levels: social, personal, emotional, intellectual and moral
This story is so complex, when we played silent hill back in the day we would speculate over what it was about. We always thought the town collapsed and fell into purgatory deep in the earth, that's why the roads are caved in and there's all the dust in the air and little demons. Back then there was no explanations you could watch in youtube, it was a really mysterious game.
We would play the game over and over at my friends house, thinking of our own theories. It was great
We didn't need CZcams. We speculate on what we saw during gameplay. Just like the CZcamsrs. Unless the creators put out the full story, we use what we find. It gets on my nerves when CZcamsrs claim their interpretations as fact. The game wiki is also interpretation made by fans. I tend to stay away from them as the game tells you all you need to know.

However, I recognize that I am giving less attention to my health and happiness with this consistent output. Wow. Man, are you sure? What about the fact that "The Executioner" is not connected with Heather because it is a personification of James Sanderland's desire to be punished. Or the fact that James never knew Heather or Mason's family, yet "The Executioner" is visible the same way for her as for James which doesn't make any sense. Or that the map is School where Heather has never been before. Or that the siren is basically a thing from the movie and it was never seen in the original game. So, how is that more accurate?
For me it's just another soulless fan service, just like the movies.

Despite Pyramid Head being in (and I think he was only put in because he's the most recognizable monster) you can at least tell the devs made an effort to learn the lore.

That nurse scene in Silent Hill 1 was one of the most disturbing things I’ve seen.
@ULTRA LIGHT Lisa was thenurse of Alessa Gillespie and she was tending to her when she was inthe hospital. Butshewas also a drug addict taking the drug from dr kaufmann (i think that's his name) so she would keep an eye on Alessa badically. When Alessa created the nightmare version of the town everyone else was trapped and Lisa thought she was the only one alive and not a monster. Sadly she actually was dead and when she realised this she began to transform. She can appear from the floor in the endgamw and grab Kaufmann by his legs, taking him to the underworld. At least thats what i recall, it's been a long while since i read the wikis
@ULTRA LIGHT You only ever saw Lisa while in other world. She never realized that she was one of the monster nurses in the hospital. She starts changing once she realizes it. When she grabs Kaufman, she's not Lisa anymore. Hence his screams of terror.

Amazing video, thank you so much for all the detail in it! I like to think that in DbD the Flauros and the sigils (both Metatron and the Halo), besides the Entity's copy of what it saw in the true town, are there as a way of keeping Silent Hill's creatures and power in check. We don't really know how powerful the Entity might be against the God, but having precautions is always a smart idea. Wouldn't want Pyramid Head guiding sinners into some "In Water" numb mentality if you mainly feed off their emotions, would you? Or Cheryl/Alessa suddenly taking their little Entity control perk into turbo mode.

Alessa's ritual did not involve fire, per the first Silent Hill game. Other games/movies tried to retcon this fact, but the fire was causes by Alessa through the ritual.
Whether the fire during Alessa's ritual was intentional or not is one of my 3 taboo topics regarding Silent Hill. There has been a lot of misinformations spread among the community and it's hard to convince people otherwise. Please don't bring this point ever again.

HIGHLY recommend his video about Pyramid Head if you haven't seen it already. It was incredibly interesting and insightful, maybe THE best silent hill video I have seen.

Why can't we just have a decent remaster of Silent Hill 1-3 Konami? There is an entire new generation of gamers who NEED to experience these games.

As far as I can tell, the north, south, east, west symbols are varied. The north, a riff on the Ancient Egyptian Eye of Horus. East is the most closely remeniscent of something you might find in the Ars Goetia, the western symbol a similar theme but with some very vague 'illuminati'-esque symbolism. The south, as far I can tell, is just gibberish. The top line seems to incorporate the symbols of an electrical circuit and mathematics, while the bottom is some kind of Klingon and something that calls to mind a pitchfork, reminding people of 'witch' and hell, etc. Honestly my reading of this symbol as a whole, is that the artists borrowed from a bunch of 'legitimate' sources and then just threw spaghetti at a wall to see what stuck.

In dbd when you do the gens in the respective rooms the medallions do show up on the clock tower

You really gotta give the DbD devs props for their work. They really did do their homework to make everything as accurate as they could and added nice little Easter eggs.
There are a couple things I remember in the bathroom in the vary far corner of the map you can hear crying and the medallions are used but they just appear after you finish the generators
I also bel at the dead end of the vary last floor to the stairs you can hear whispers
The rebirthed form of Cheryl is black haired, not blonde. She dies it. This is referenced during the normal ending in the third game
I'd be interested in hearing about any lore behind Pyramid Head's DBD perks and add ons, aswell as Cheryl's perks?
There is a mod for fall out 4 called "whispering hills" it does an overhaul of the game to make it more silent hill like. But the more interesting bit is the actual quest that takes you into the otherworld. Now I didn't know enough about silent hill to understand all of but I bet you would enjoy it, and there's more of it planned for the future if I understand it correctly, and I'd love to see a video about it and how it compares to the silent hill lore. If you can survive the attacks of course.... I don't want spoil it for you though. 😉

The Halo of The Sun's circles could also represent the trinity and three Suns, the fourth (their god) being birthed from the three but is unseen or the entire thing.

Silent hill, i remember i was 15/ when silent hill 2 was released. It was my very first time playing the series and i had never been so invested in a horror story like that before. Not only did silent hill pull me into the game, i got lost in all its legends and backgrounds. Such an underrated game series. Yeah sure, it had its flops (i enjoyed every single game especially the rooms concept) but it still stands the test of time in my opinion. Still great games! I just beat homecoming this morning for the millionth time.

How do you feel about the theory that the Pyramid Head in Dead by Daylight is actually James Sunderland? As most of the killers in DBD are people in “Killer” forms? I think it’s pretty interesting and actually probable since Pyramid head isn’t actually real but a part of James psychology (his need for punishment).
Lore wise, it would have made sense to have James as the playable character if they were going to use Pyramid Head. Hell, most people (not me) consider the In Water ending canon, so it could work.

For real note that hingarian script is VERY reminiscent of nordic runes. I'm glad it was a real language and not something dreamed up. It puts a bit more "real" into such a fantastic setting. That's what I think makes really good interactive experiences. The best lies always contain a grain of truth.
I still don't understand how Alyssa how's powers. Yes, it makes sense she would have it during the event of the game, but before the town was abandoned, it doesn't make sense. And in origins, it was the Florus (the Triangle thing if im wrong) was what split Alyssa's soul. What's the reason? 🤔
As far as I understand The Entity took The Pyramid Head straight from James's psyche, and just before sending both him and Cheryl into the realm it managed to manifest The Pyramid Head into Cheryl's psyche. It also confirms that Pyramid Head is an embodyment of guilt at least in dbd side of things. It can all be explained as dbd's universe, is a multiverse, some items and universes are referenced in the archives, such as Terra Primus, Terra Dark etc. In short, The Entity can manifest a memory/a person/item from a different time, place or mind, that's why Pyramid Head is here together with Cheryl. Also I was so confused why people kept calling her Heather, at least I understand everything now.

Wasn't Pyramid head mentioned in a SH2 newspaper article you can find near bins at the apartments where a man who murdered his family I think stated he's seen a red devil? Which makes me guess it's basically a hint at Pyramid head before you even meet him as James later
And the painting, it makes me think that it is an actual thing and not just a mindtrick to mess with Sunderland.
Which makes me think that Pyramid Head as a whole may just be a symbol of guilt and thrives to punish until the sinner accepts their mistakes

It's an alchemical symbol. The sun and the moon create an Eclipse, joining together two different things as one. This could represent how Alessa and Cheryl have reunited as one to birth God, who is often represented as the union of opposites.

A lame but maybe slightly plausible explanation for Robbie the Rabbit: Rabbits serve as a fertility symbol, which may be consistent with the themes of SH3. Heather's apprehension about (if not outright fear of) sex reflects itself here. She sees Robbie for the first time as a hyperbolically large figure smeared in blood, as if to match the exaggerated size and quality of Heather's own fears in contrast to the small, harmless nature that rabbits possess in actuality.
Or you know... A large penis covered in blood
