Decentralized Video Distribution: BitChute

The increasingly centralized control of content distribution on the internet via a slow concentration of power via corporate oligarchies is a very dangerous threat to our digital rights and future.
BitChute is a new video distribution (CDN) based on the concept of P2P BitTorrent style technology. In the BitChute model, there's no central distribution point nor corporate control, and no advertising. Once the video is in the BitChute network it is distributed amongst diverse peering points and then distributed to the viewer based on regional peers.
It is for this reason that BitChute is absolutely the most philosophically pure version of InRange's distribution points and we urge you to support their endeavor. Projects like this are hugely important and we need to diversify and reduce chokepoints to ensure that content will always have a way to get to the people that want it.

I usually watch your content on CZcams just because there are several channels from shooting to cooking and comedy podcasts that I follow here. Having said that I just registered an account on BitChute and will check it out. I love that you guys don't do the click bait stuff or shoot fruit and tannerite. There is a place for that as entertainment I guess. But not something I am personally into. Sitting at 113k subscribers on CZcams alone you're obviously doing something right. Thanks again for all the A+ content. Proud patreon supporter.
Now I kind of want to see them shoot tannerite, after giving us some speech about how it is more practical to do so for some reason of which I am not yet aware because they haven't made the video yet. If anyone could turn tannerite into a tool to make you rethink what you think you know about firearms, it's Karl and Ian.

The latest youtube shenanigans deserves anti-trust. They use CZcams to force other products (AdSense and the like) down other's throats. Plus they massively prioritise CZcams in search results over anything else :/

It's done so AI/alghorithm used by CZcams can't recognise Karl's face.

That's what I was thinking, this model isn't so different from CZcams because unless people download and share the file with a torrent client it's still just a few servers\peers supplying all the users\leechers.
PENDANTturnips in countries where seeders are hunted down by corporations, it's not safe.
I have lots of respect for the way you've handled CZcams this year, Karl. Many other content producers complain, but you've actually done something about it.

Karl, I want to make sure you understand why I use youtube. Not because I don't think you understand, but because you're doing a lot of work finding alternatives, and I'm afraid you might be missing one of the most important things: Laziness.
I watch your content on youtube because 99.9% of the video content I consume on the internet is on youtube. I completely agree with everything you've said, especially about decentralization, however obtaining my content from multiple sources is in direct conflict with the strongest driving force in my life: Laziness.
If there was something that facilitated consuming content from multiple sources in a single location, that supported features that people come to youtube for (here are all of the unwatched videos on my subscription list, in chronological order, for example), I think your efforts would be much more successful.
Since you're constantly researching this subject, and always looking for better options, you're more likely to find something like that than I am. If you do, please share it with us!
jrucker2004 You may be misunderstanding Karl. He doesn't care where you watch the content, he just wants to make it widely available. He understands your laziness so the videos will continue to be posted to CZcams as well.
CZcams is changing, however, so there may come a time when InRangeTV is not allowed on CZcams. That's why other platforms are needed.
You just summed up why everyone continues to use CZcams and Facebook even though they suck in one word.
People are too lazy to leave them behind and would rather bitch about them incessantly instead of searching for an alternative.
Given that both pretty much have a monopoly on their respective platforms/content, that's easier said than done anyway really.

Never signed into YT certainly never subscribed to any channel. I've honestly never understood what raised profiles of content creators above hits on videos. No real understanding of what is important.
Referring to a past video by Karl. I don't have, or at least don't know why I should have a problem with being YT's product. YT know what I've viewed where I am and I get (possibly) related ads. If it's deeper than this please explain what I don't understand.
Ads. Possibly due to living in the UK ads on gun related content have always been infrequent. Only change I noticed was post IRTVs decision to demonitise itself I saw a lot more ads on other content. Forgotten Weapons in particular now had ads before 80% of vids, previously less than 20%. Explanation anyone???
In the vain hope Karl might read this. Have you ever thought of doing an egit/numpty's guide to viewing original content videos. A bit off topic for the core idea of IRTV but lots of the vids here are off the original core. A guide could be a useful or necessary tool.

This may be the alternative we've been searching for. Time to start duel uploading to Bitchute as well as gootube. Every gootube upload from now on can mention Bitchute. That would get Bitchute where it needs to be with regard to traffic.

You mentioned your interest in the sim side, and i wonder if you are aware of the newer il-2 sturmovik battle of stalingrad/moscow/kuban series of games made by the Rise of flight devs. It's a hardcore flight sim with exellent graphics, ca.30 different types of aircraft and a few more subvariants of those, VR supported and currently covers the eastern Front from mid 41 to late 43. Furthermore it has multicrew-aircraft like the stuka, the He111, the il-2 or the peschka. Detailed weather simulation which for example alter the point of impact for bombs according to windspeeds on different altitudes. Gun ballistics modeled after real world tests of the guns, progressing structual damage during high g manouvers when hit. A RoF style carreer Mode with historically accurate emblems, numbers, stationed airfields down to a record of all kills and losses during that timeframe and 90000 words of text describing the course of the war is included in december. Interesting project, but not fully fleshed out yet. I was checking out their site, ready to download the client and finally use my 10mbit upload bandwidth and the machine that is running 24/7 anyway for something more useful than seeding pron all day XD
Turns out, so far they don't offer a client for dedicated seeding and are only using webtorrent (to upload while watching I assume). Please post an update video once this changes so us guys that have ample bandwidth to spare can help you distribute your content in a truly decentralized form.

Hi, Karl. sorry to bother you but I'm a bit confused about the concept of bitchute and it's FAQ doesn't clarify it. so here's my question. far as i understood, on bitchute videos are distributed via torrent-like web. does that mean viewers will become distributer as watching video? will it take my storage space and network bandwidth just like torrent? Not that I'm against hosting few videos on my PC. but when it become hundreds, thousands of them, that will be burdensome :( and those number are reachable simply by watching some of your videos.

What we need to combat youtube is a app/site that allow us to browse videos from different sites, like what gmail does. You can browse mails from other sites like outlook while on gmail.com. That way I can choose to watch your videos from full30 or bitchute while having acces to other channels from youtube. Kind like a video agregator that gives me acces to all my subscriptions on different sites on 1 frontpage for convinience.

hm, but as long as the internet connection of the idnividual is not decentralized it makes not that much of a sense. Like governments can still tell ISPs to block/limit traffic.

If you want to download videos from BitChute you can use an Android app called "Bit Chute Video Downloader - NO ADS, FREE". Its the one with the Black and Red Icon.
I just hope they can get the quality up. So far, poor resolution, and no real full screen on my system, but should be great for mobil viewers.

You'd have to share the video URL (and I don't mean the bitchute.com URL) in other places for this to actually work when it's needed to work.

Simply put there needs to be another CZcams with minimal rules and ad revenue sharing. Subscription based video is getting saturated and will become unsustainable. When you are paying $8 to Netflix, $10 to HBO, $7 for this, $8 to that, people will stop contributing to paiteron

May I also suggest (if you're not there already) vid.me ? It's really easy to transfer your content from CZcams by just copy and pasting a link. There is also a means to tip content creators, and (so far) has been very welcoming to the firearms enthusiast community.

Unless you host your content on a server you own you're just trading one provider for another. Also - I've no idea how BitChute is financed, but they own anything you upload (or at least have a right to use it how they see it fit, and need not delete your content you want to delete). The other problem is that it's peer-to-peer, no peers = your video is gone.

But you still need BitChute to give viewers a pointer to the torrent, right? Can one use any other client/service/app to view that video? If not it's decentralized delivery but only one 'entry point' just like YT (but with the cost of running the service distributed onto all who use it). BTW I'm not saying YT is better (or even good) - it's not.
Point taken. Regardless, people switching to Bitchute aids in building an alert and knowledgeable citizenry. Sticking with CensorGoogle is not the answer.

Aren't there civil laws of discrimination involved here? We are talking about an American right, and being so, information about firearms should be automatically encouraged not blocked. Even just demonetizing a channel while at the same time still running ads on it should be considered illegal. CZcams and Google are being sued in several ways over the control of information that was once available to us all. I am currently filming a series that I'd like to post somewhere that I can potentially make some form of income back on. This stuff isn't cheap to make.
