Best of 06 is the black parade, best of 78 is Van Halen 1, best of 85 is most certainly not a mid tier gary moore record, best of 87 is ABSOLUTELY NOT whitesnake 87 (hysteria?? appetite for destruction??), and Green Day’s Saviors came out in 2024, and Protect The Land by System of a Down was a SINGLE not an album man come on. Props for putting the best punk rock album of all time on here though for 82 (somehow missing out on the first ramones album for 76 though) (AND BOSTON???)

I never found the pixies that great but for each their own, and yeah, Dolittle was better than bleach. Also in 1989 was released fucking Disintegration😭. Plus Altars of Madness and The Stone Roses Debut.

I would have probably given 2003 to Absolution by Muse, 1994 to Superunknown by Soundgarden or Purple by Stone Temple Pilots, and 1989 to Doolittle by Pixies.

How isn’t there any post punk here? 1977 could be Television’s Marquee Moon, 1979 could be Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures, 1980 could be Joy Division’s Closer or Talking Heads’ Remain In Light (which is quite easily one of the best albums of ANY genre not just rock) 1982 could easily be The Cure’s Pornography, 1985 could be The Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead and 1989 could very easily be The Cure’s Disintegration

There's clearly some fandom going on here, as there always would be. I wouldn't argue too hard about Dookie in 1994, but Insomniac for 1995 over Throwing Copper, King for a Day Fool for a Lifetime, and The Bends, Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (to name only 4) is....just.... shall we say....unusual.
It’s clear you love Green Day mate (I love them too, although your choices of best albums of years where you’ve put Green Day’s ones are mostly questionable, to be polite). But in 2023 they did not even have an album. You are putting the cover of Saviors, the album that was released already in Jan 2024, as the best album of 23 called One Eyed Bastard - that discredits your whole selection if any other previous choices haven’t yet (and all of them are top albums but a lot raise questions about being biased, as it’s the same bands over and over again, whilst there’ve been other releases clearly better in various years)
I would put Post Human Survival Horror in 2020 or Sempiternal in 2013 but Linkin Park in 2000, 2003 and 2007 are massives W
I think Unknown Pleasures is a way better album than Highway To Hell and should've been on the list. Unknown Pleasures had a much bigger influence on music and in my opinion is just better. Also there were already so many othe AC/DC albums on the list, one Joy Division one could have easily replaced one
