My problem with any kind of “Greatest metal of all time” lists is that there’s so much different genres that you can’t even compare to each other, while they are under the same umbrella of metal music, it’s not right seeing Meshuggah in the same list as Twisted Sister, you can even tell they were trying so hard to appeal to everyone
Great video though, I definitely commend that you had to put 100 of these together, and I like how you didn’t go for the obvious song choice on some of these albums
Thank you so much for your commend words 💕
I don't know how anyone could call Twisted Sister metal.
@@lidiaspazzard Classic Glam Metal band
Glam rock really. Not heavy enough to be metal. Hard glam rock perhaps.@@MetalUpYourHEAD-lu9lt

Vol 3. Slipknot , and A7X Avenged Sevenfold?
All questions to RS, but I agree these albums deserve to be in this list
No Remorse is a compilation album... what the hell?!
Idk, RS
From Mars to Sirius is top 10 album easily
City of evil getting 100th is crazy
An 'interesting' list. Some great stuff in there, but you could debate the ranking for eternity. Some absolute classics left out, too.
Something to remember about newer metal and the subgenres that are gaining popularity is that they have not had time to become cemented as 'classics' yet due to not being around as long. I wish there were more diversity, but I also understand the limitations and the difficulty choosing only 100 out of probably thousands of fantastic records by countless bands. Overall alright list
It's funny how something like Too Fast for Love is higher than masterpieces like Stained Class or Heaven and Hell.
Not superior but commercial
And "comboys from hell"????
Damn i got like 80 of em on CD =)
Got 65 out of 100, sold back a few others...
no fricking way bathory is on rolling stone!!!!!!!
😉
donde esta dont break the oath de mercyful fate ??, y abigail de king diamond ?
From Mars To Sirius At 97 Is Insane
Agree
Everybody knows that Sepultura's greatest album is Roots.
I love Melvins ❤️
Me too
AC/DC, in flames, dimmu borgir, testament, chindren of bodom, épica
Ac/DC is hard rock
Did Justin Bieber compile this list??
No, RS

You are telling me, that anything 90-100, made it before any Kreator album?
undeservedly forgotten Accept. Metal Heart for example
my top (almost all nu-metal)
#1 Vol 3. The Subliminal Verses - Slipknot (The blister exists, vermilion, pulse of the maggots)
#2 All hope is gone - Slipknot again (Sulfur, Gematria, all hope is gone)
#3 iowa - Slipknot again (My plague, the heretic anthem, left behind)
#4 Deftones - Deftones (Bloody cape, Deathblow, Battle-Axe)
#5 Hybrid theory - linkin park (My december, Points of authority, Papercut)
#6 the fragile - Nine Inch Nails (The wretched, Were in this together, Just like you imagined)
#7 We are not your kind - Slipknot (Spiders, Nero forte, Solway firth)
#8 Sempiternal - Bring me the horizon (Hospital for souls, Go to hell for heavens sake, Sleepwalking)
#9 Thats the spirit - Bring me the horizon again (Run, avalanche, drown)
#10 Hot dog flavorued water and chocolate starfish - limp bizkit (my way, my generation, take a look around)
#11 Life is peachy - Korn (ADIDAS, Twist, Porn Creep)
Special mentions
Sextape- deftones (diamond eyes)
Hangar 18- Megadeth (Rust in peace)
In my darkest hour- Megadeth (So far, So good, So what)
Faint- Linkin park (Meteora)
New divide- Linkin park (Transformers Revenge of the fallen instrumental)
on with the show- Motley crue (Too fast for love)
Got the life- Korn (follow the leader)
Poltergeist- Deftones (Koi no Yokan)
What ive done- Linkin park (Minutes to midnight)
Ruiner- Nine Inch Nails (The downward spiral)
All out life- slipknot (its a simple)
Jesus of suburbia- Green day (american idiot)
Renegades of funk- Rage agaisnt the machine (Renegades)
Where is Painkiller ??????
I was thinking the same thing??? I had to rewatch the video again because I thought I missed it. Painkiller, to me, is pinnacle to metal. That whole album is incredible from start to finish.
Agree with both of you, perfect album
Too many good bands are missing, the metalcore ones in the middle of the 00's like as I lay dying, trivium, killswitch engage, they made great albums, a band like machine head is missing, the album the blackening is a masterpiece, one of my favourites, how is he not on this list???
I love how they included Transylvanian Hunger right after lamb of god
Well Ozzy wins with 8 entries, but some of the bands on the lower end I either Don't Like or never heard of, so I'm left wondering where are albums like Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian, Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King, any Kreator? Transcendence by Crimson Glory, Punishment for Decadence by Coroner, Testament's The Legacy, fucking Epicus Doomicus Metallicus! All missing. I could go on...and on...and on.
Far Beyond Driven at 39 is wild.
Well, at least this one had a bit more of diversity than others, but nothing too surprising in these "best" lists. Like, you can always expect very well known bands like Metallica, Maiden, Sabbath, Slayer and etc on the top positions.
Exactly, best bands in the World!
42 good albums, the best being Opeth, Emperor, Darkthrone...
I can not watch a list where Slipknot is higher than Bathory
Deep Purple"in Rock"&made in Japan best Albums
Hard rock.
9:31 underrated tool song! One of my favorites!
Death - Symbolic? Sepultura - Arise? Type O Negative - October Rust? Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears? Tool - Lateralus? Burzum - Filosofem? Judas Priest - Painkiller?
Symbolic isn’t on there? Goddam
Beneath the Remains?
I like the inclusion of many bands in this list, but I'm not sure about some specific elections. Like some that are reminiscent of metal, but they could be argued that they weren't metal, therefore including albums that were missed out. Or the problem thatbi would choose other albums. For example, I think British steel knstead of Screaming for vengeance is weird.
And the main problem: the order. I get that having to do this type of list is an enormous task by itself, but the placement is so weird
British Steel is not even a top 3 Priest album let alone all time 🤨🤨 the fact that Painkiller is not even on the list makes this decision even weirder
We know there’s a ton missing and some that shouldn’t be that high above others, but I found the selection of records solid, u have a land of records that meant a lot to the genre…
Roots?
Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done
In Flames - Clayman
Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama
From mars to sirius so underrated
True
Weird, there's no Scum, since is one of the most ahead of its time albums. A grindcore album in 1987
Lots of good stuff on this but a lot of crap as well. Stuff like evanescence shouldn’t be anywhere near a top 100 list even if it was a big seller.
Even stuff like British steel being that high up, I love priest, probably my favourite band but that album would barely get into my top 10 (and I do like the album a lot).

Wouldn't really call "Angel Dust" a true metal album although it has metal elements, either way it deserves to be a lot higher. It's a masterpiece of an album.
Agree
It's the definitive alt metal album.
I mean, all lists are completely subjective, and I would be remiss if I knew better than all mighty Rolling Stone.
Having said that, if they were going to place Iowa and White Pony on the list, they HAD to be better than 50 and 30, respectively. My other major grip is placing Peace Sells at 8, while Rust in Peace (in my opinion, the better of the two) 19 and I would have flipped them around.
Otherwise, fairly solid and straightforward, especially the top 10 (sans Peace Sells).
Probably agree with you
Man, I think Black Label Society is underrated
Guy 1 at rolling stone: “let’s put stay hungry by Twisted Sister on the 100 best metal albums list”
Guy 2 at rolling stone: “okay, I like it.. but what song should we put for their presentation track?”
Guy 1: “I wanna rock”
Guy 2: “fuck! Of course!”
😂😂😂😂
No but seriously most of these albums deserve to be on this list, the others I didn’t know but probably still deserve to be on the list…. Probably😅
"I Wanna Rock" was picked by me actually ;)
When choosing tracks for an album, sometimes I have to take the first thing that comes to mind
Dimension Hatröss is my favorite
Toxicity as 27 is wild
They forgot possessed
Iowa top 50 👍
Who did this list? And what is his age?
Rs
honestly, might be a controversial take. first off the list is shit, but here me out, i know its still a relatively new album but Sunbather by Deafheaven was such a good album and honestly deserves higher up, especially in a list as bad as this.
Is a masterpiece honestly
This list is sooo Rolling Stone. The list of albums not represented here is over 100 long. Clearly created by posers, nonmetal heads and record executive types.
Wtf???This list is a joke!😂
Wow..crap! No In Flames? No Mudvayne L.D. 50? L.D. 50 is an album I can listen to from beginning to end and not get bored. Better yet, each song flows from one to another if u listen to it in its entirety!
Wat a joke 😂😂
SYMBOLIC???
There's Bathory's "Under the sign of black mark", but no "Blood on ice" or "Hammerheart"
Is Motorhead's "No remorse" better than "Ace of spades" ?
Is Black Sabbath with Osbourne better than Black Sabbath with Dio ? Dio is obviously a better vocalist.
Where's Judas Priest's "Painkiller" ?
So many questions.
The ozzy era albums are simply better
@@soyextrahuevordinario4226 i don't think so. Heaven and Hell is the best Sabbath's albums
Dio maybe be a better vocalist, but the songwriting was top notch in the Osbourne era. Wheels of confusion, Sabbra Cadabbra, Megalomania...
Only one Slayer album??? WOW!!!!
3, lol
There were literally three
very commercial list, but anyways you can't make an objectively good list, rather just a smsomehow logic one, and to that ill put some limits like 1 album per band
King Diamond - "Abigail", " Conspiracy ", " The Eye"(((((
Metal is a very hard genre to do this to but this is ok.
Shitty list as usual
How is there Kill Em All but not Ride the Lightning?

Ожидал здесь увидеть Limp Bizkit и Linkin Park, но хер там, когда всё видео Black Sabbath да и Metallica!!!
Саббаты и Метла - классика жанра, Limp Bizkit - что-то неопределенное между репом металлом, а вот Linkin Park соглашусь, не хватает

British Steel is so massively overrated! Judas Priest have numerous better albums than that, including the equally successful Screaming for Vengeance.
