I still watch the Walton's! It's a very wholesome show that I find very enjoyable; I wish times today could be more like those days! Jon's music is awesome!!
I had never heard of the Waltons til recently, but thanks to the world wide pandemic, the disaster of a year that 2020 has turned out to be, I have just finished watching every single episode! 🤣 Grandma may be spinning in her grave at this right now, but Grandpa is the 1 rolling her over! 🤣 He would be up on his feet, tipping his hat, grabbing the arm of the nearest woman and having a grand old time, kicking up his heels and flirting the night away, proud as punch of his grandson, with that twinkle in his eye as he looks back at Grandma for a jealous reaction from her, waiting to hear those 3 simple words every man is dying to hear from his woman.... silly old fool! 😉 🤣
N yup got that right. Due to the Waltons I loving call my man that. See I grew up with John as my TV dad. The original showing of the Waltons were one of my TV families.
I love this! When I was a kid I watched The Waltons a lot, and I always knew Jon Walmsley, who was Jason (on The Waltons) as this youngster who always played guitar, harp, and sang country songs, but seeing him rocking out on electric guitar adds a whole new dimension!
Grandma will be mad at your Jason for playing that devils music ;-) You have always been a fantastic musician and you are even better now. Love your music and would love to see you live.
But grandpa will be tipping his hat, grabbing the arm of the nearest woman and having a grand old time, kicking up his heels and flirting the night away, proud as punch of his grandson, with that twinkle in his eye as he looks back at Grandma for a jealous reaction from her! 😉 🤣
Jon, you sure have grown much since you were in The Walton’s. Musically you are over the top. I can tell you are very talented but can only stand a very small amount of this type of music.
What John walmsly could do as a musician acting on the Walton's was truly brilliant, he's gotten great as we all knew he would ! Lucy Clews (using my husband's phone again😋)
Jason Walton!!! Who knew!! You sure sounded great at " The Dew Drop Inn", course you weren't playing like this...I loved it..and loved The Waltons, I was watching " Days of Our Lives" today, and still can't get over seeing your " Dad",John Walton, playing a priest!! Rock Steady Baby!
Amazing Job! Jon (Jason Walton) I been a fan of yours since you played Jason Walton on The Walton’s! You should singing the songs you sang on The Walton’s that but be cool!
What a great talented artist you are Jon... I've been watching The Waltons on MeTV the past few weeks, and I sort of forgot how good that show was... being a harmonica player myself, I always love it when you pull one out and start playing !
WOW!!!! Awesome vocals Jon!!! All the stars for this performance!!! I enjoyed you in Philly, with the other Walton cast members! Thank you for that! I am a Walton fanatic! You and Jim bob are my favorites! I covered a song you wrote back then - the maiden and the soldier ! Thanks for this excellent share! Great performance by all!
Seems funny to me that all the comments reference your work as an actor. My husband and I saw Primal Twang. My husband is blind and he kept saying “Who the heck is that?!?” Told him it was Jason from the Waltons. We had no idea! I lent my copy of Primal Twang out and it was never returned. I don’t think Dan is selling them on Amazon anymore. So glad your performances are available here. My husband was literally crying when you were playing with Eric Johnson. You are an amazing and versatile musician .
Still watch the Waltons...Dvr two shows every afternoon and I own the entire series on DVD. Just love the show & almost wish I had lived during that time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Often research what the actors are doing now...my favorite was Ralph Waite. So sorry he's passed on.. Jon, very talented !! So your musical ability on the show was real! Thought so. Judy
when are you gonna come to Toronto jon or should i say Jason Walton? we grew up with you as Jason Walton you are still our Jason Walton the great musician .
Rock on, Jon!!! You are so gifted and talented. I wish I could attend one of your concerts. It looks like a great celebration! You are so awesome on guitar!!!
Jon ( Jason) , I KNEW you could really play when I watched the " Waltons " when the show was in production ! I've been a guitarist since 1967 ( this isn't about me , it's just how I know ) . I always loved your taste in guitars , and I am thrilled you are still playing ( and as good as ever , I might add ) . How's about an updated version of " The Ironing Board Blues " ?!
Wow, this music suits you so much better than what you sang on the Waltons! You were my favorite character, but I really miss your ears. They were a part of you that I really liked.
An episode of the Walton's brought me here. I could tell he was really playing what was being shown on tv. I'm a guitarist myself so I recognized it right away so I googled the name
You are REALLY GOOD!! I was looking for videos of the songs you sang on the Waltons (found some great ones) and came across this. I'm so glad you continued to play your music - it's such a gift and you are obviously enjoying it!!
I love watching you play....your awesome!! Been on your FB for awhile and enjoy your post....Love watching the Waltons.....I live in VA and I want to go visit the filming site.
Wow, this music suits you so much better than what you sang on the Waltons (though I quite enjoyed your composition Ironing Board Blues). You were my favorite character, truthfully, cuz you you had that great smile. Plus, I liked that your character wanted to go to music school and your dad didn't but you persevered. My own dad didn't want me to be in a band - I'm 60 years old and regret that I didn't.
@sek17514 it wasn't in all the Winnie The Pooh movies only a few I'm pretty sure. He was able to play him when he was younger because he was born in England and had an English accent.
I Could Watch The Waltons 24hrs a day!! Its what family should be!!!
Jeannette Hughes I agree! Me too!

JUST WATCHED THE EPISODE WHERE JASON APPLIED TO THE CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC AGAINST HIS DADDYS WISHES !!
