Swoon Creative Collective Take it from a guy who made an entire $32,000 web series, grew an audience, was top of his game and just completely stopped. I ran out of videos and stopped putting out content for four years. It’s never too late to get back to uploading. And your stuff is great.

Quality over quantity. A lot of youtubers buy their audience through external services even if they dont say it..... So from me it is better to have a few people who truly appreciate the content than a bunch who just stack up the numbers.
Being a BMPCC4K owner i have to say you´ve done a great review. However i also have to say that im continuing being a Blackmagic User :D
I hate H.265 and i freaking love DCI 4K 60P RAW 12 bit!
I see the potential of the Z2 (especcially the never versions) but i still think the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is better, concidering it comes for 1300€ WITH DaVinci Resolve.

Subbed, I’ve been looking at this camera for my crew. It is definitely awesome for the price!
What interests me surprisingly with this is that it has both Pro Res for more high end productions and H.265/ H.264 for when I need to do longer videos such as corporate events. Simply cant record 3hrs worth of video in Pro Res lol. Something I felt was missing from the Blackmagics

Great review! Seems like a nifty little option for a cinema camera.
regarding the card formatting. always format it on the camera itself, not in the computer. You will never have that issue again. been there, great review, thank you for ther info.
This was older firmware that required a format on the computer first. Now it's all good and can be formatted straight in camera.

What's so frustrating is that I viewed and researched and read all about BMPCC, Sony as7iii, A7c, FX3, Sony a6xxx, Canon M50ii, M6ii, R6, R5, and many others. I knew that I was merely agonizing over one hot turd over another..... and now its all over. I've fought my way up Hamburger Hill and through Death Valley. Swam through shark infested waters and walked a hundred miles through deep poo. This went on for weeks until I suddenly remembered somewhere in the corner of my cluttered mind - under the trash and behind an old memory or ten, reading something about a Z something or another. After making a few runs at the World Wide Web, I was finally reunited with planet Zcam.... I must go now....I have to cry....Thank you.

Z Cam should sponsor you. Such a good video man. I deff want an E2 but Im concerned about the autofocus on it. I do a lot of automotive work with a gimbal so the autofocus is necessary. Hows the Autofocus? I subbed man. keep it up.

It was the drive I have had many issues with my sandisk drive ....

Nice review. This camera definitely gives you a lot for your money even though you gotta rig it out some to use it efficiently. Too many toys and enough time...and money :) Nice work!

Would this camera be good as the main camera to video live bands? Have you also used the wifi connection to view on an IPad? What would you recommend as additional small placement cameras to add further shots of a live band?
Hell yea! I would reach for the S6 at least though if you’re going to be doing a lot of low light although the E2 is a beast in low light, you’re limited by the sensor size. Either one will you treat you very kindly! If you’re doing multiple cameras, check out Fuji XT3s with an Atomos Ninja V

Dang dude you pinned me down with that first recommendation. I bought an a7iii and I’m now selling all my photography stuff because I don’t use it and all I want to shoot is video. Might have to give this a go.
This or the new bmpcc 6k (or 4k version)
Still this, better battery life, form factor and higher frame rates in 4k. Also check out the s35, 6k and 8k versions coming in October. I don’t like how Blackmagic hasn’t even fulfilled the pocket 4k and they are already onto the next thing, not a good look.
@@DakotaJ666 you're right. They should have waited. The form factor of the zcam is better and I don't understand how they have not switched to npf battery for the new 6k camera lol.

@@mikmongo8921 Sony is great! My wife has the A7iii and it's amazing! Great photos and great video! I mostly do video so I went with the XT3 for the 10 bit but the A7iii/a6400 and that series are all so great! Especially for the price!

You seem to be everywhere in the comments, so I'll ask you. How is focus with this camera? Does it even have autofocus? If so, is it even remotely usable? Thanks. Also great work on the video, found you by searching "zcam" and sorting by upload date lol.
bobwinslow I try and respond to pretty much everyone haha! It does have autofocus and while I imagine it works a lot better with native lenses I haven’t tested it much because I use a speedbooster and full frame Canon glass while using manual focus 100% of the time. With the setup I have AF is totally unusable but I didn’t expect much when considering this camera.
Is the 4K 120FPS in Prores 4:22 as well? And do you think this is a nice upgrade over the GH5? Great video! Looking forward to more
Cameron Glenn the 4k is 4:2:0 10 bit but honestly it looks amazing even when comparing it to the ProRes 4:2:2 I think it definitely would be a great upgrade coming from a GH5. Thanks for the kind words! Working on another video right now actually haha.

I used to shoot with a GH5 and made the move to the E2 a week ago. Let me tell you I did not regret anything about that, that small beast feels so much better than the GH5! Video files read a million times better on my old mac so editing is a lot faster, and rigging is a dream compared to the GH5

Probably not great for vlogging, it can be quite heavy rigged up and I imagine your arm would get pretty tired haha!

The Sony FS5ii/Atomos Shogun Inferno.....I think the Z Cam has more functionality for live streaming although I never live stream so that's just a best guess.
Why don't you use proxy so it is less taxing in Premiere?

Ok, so i have a A7iii, why should I upgrade? other than frame rate, is there a quality different?
Benjamin Lu the A7iii is great, my wife has one, but if you don’t need the higher frame rates in 4k then you’re just fine. I’m not one to tell someone what they need or don’t need, it’s all up to how the camera would help you further. I prefer a video only camera because I don’t take photos and it offers ProRes internally.

Now that you're a couple months into it, how are you liking the z cam now? I've been considering the full frame version for a purchase this spring.
I actually ended up selling the Z Cam recently and picked up two Fuji XT3s but I will be getting the S6 or F6 version of the Z Cam here soon!

Haven’t used the 6k so I really can’t say. Also can’t help with your decision as everyone’s needs are different.

I say wait a little bit, red has been teasing about a new camera... RED is actually releasing a new affordable camera under 5-6k$ for a 6k censor called RED Komodo....
just wait for it to be released then make a move on what you think is best for you
