Good to see such high quality work done with little to no help from power tools. Just skill, ingenuity, elbow grease, nice wood, and clearly some sort of magic. Oh, patience, lots of that.
Well done!
Thanks a lot Demetri! I'm glad you like it. Patience is my second name ;) Regards!
"How many clamps do you need for woodworking?"
Stavros: "Yes."
Beautiful!
I know it's been 4 years, but this was really well done, and has me thinking to re-do my own bench
very well made, I'll continue to follow your work
Old school!
My dad who is 87 would appreciate this, he learned this trade when he was in his teens.
Cabinet maker. Dying breed though.
I know but one more guy (his trainee) who can do it, that's all. And he is 71 yo.
Good to know that this trade is alive albeit in other country.
Go Poland!
Your comment is honors for me! Best wishes for you and your dad :) Regards!
jcrnda .....Hi, I'm a cabinet maker, I live in the UK in Norfolk, there are quite a few C, M's here and many many more across the world .
Have a good search on CZcams and you will find them.
Enjoy.
Stunning vision, strength and concentration. I would not want to arm wrestle you. God bless you.
Thanks a lot Sir! All the best for you :)
Wow! Love the mix of old and new - laser cut steel and MIG welding in addition to hand planes and the very cool flywheel drill press. Beautiful work Mr. Gakos!
Thanks a lot!
The beauty of this is that the jaws are open on the side allowing for tilted holding. I’m going to do something similar on my new workbench. Seems so much more useful than the enclosed type.
This man has some serious skills….and some serious chisels!
love the square leather clad dogs. What a cool feature.
Beautiful Craftsmanship ! Also nice to see somebody using traditional Wood Screws on a modern project when i was a child i used to enjoy going through my Dads Screw collection in his shop and organizing them to make it easier for him
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful beautiful work and craftsmanship! I love to watch a pile of pieces & parts be turned into a working piece of art!
Thanks a lot!
Better than anything on tv. A beautiful build done to perfection, mainly with hands tools and it was a shear joy to watch. I’m sure it’s equally a joy to use and you must feel a little pride every time you use it.
You have right Mark, i'm really happy how it came out :) thank you!
exactly every detail 👍
I freaking love the fact that you showed some of the complications of the build and didn't make it look like it was so easy to do. Great video buddy. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Witam i pozdrawiam!!Wykonanie imadla to majstersztyk, duzw wiedza i dokladnosc mowia same za siebie, pozatym duzo cierpliwosci przy jego wykonaniu.Tak trzymac zawsze!!
Mr.Gakos. Your work just brought dear memories of my late father in law. You as he was are real craftsman, and a good one, must I say,; hopefully, this art you can pass it down to a next of kin. I am a retired general surgeon and your amazing abilities have great merit, hope you pass them on to a younger generation. Congratulations and greetings from Chihuahua, Mexico.
Thanks a lot Sir, i'm really glad you like my work. Regards!
Thank you Stavros, inspiring stuff!
You're welcome Owen :)
Tylko ogladac i podziwiac! Super!
Dziękuję Nikos :)
Thank you again for taking time to record and post these videos. We really gain a great deal from your demonstrations of skill and technique. Have a great weekend.
Looking and working good! Thank you.
Thanks Robert!
Beautiful build. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.
I've been looking, for too long, for a explanation on how to build a tail vise like this... This is just perfect, and with all the diy components explained in such an understandable way... Thank you so much, we're ending 2021 and this video enters directly for my podium of the year, cheers!
Glad to read this Filipe, good luck 👍
Brilliant a pleasure and privilege to watch, thank you for sharing
You're welcome Steve!
If I could applaud through here I would n first time feeling like that! Great job good sir!
Trabalho espetacular! Parabéns! 👍👍👍
Thank you :)
Marking with a screw tip, that is so adorable.
(Much respect!)
Thanks! That's the easiest way to scribe a line on the metal plate :) Regards!
Absolutely mesmerizing. I think this is one of the best videos I've seen.
Thank you Eric! I'm glad you like it :)
Classical work. Iwish i could work like you.
Nicely done I now understand better how a tail vise functions. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad that my video helps you :) Thanks for watching!
Loved seeing the old hand tools in use. Excellent concentration and skill.
Thanks Jerry!
I'm really impressed with your emphasis on hand-powered tools. It's refreshing - in so many videos there's literally a circus of specialty machines that I don't have. This was very nice. I particularly like that flywheel-loaded drill press unit you have.
I love the drill press!
Jestem pod wrażeniem. Prawdziwy rzemieślnik. Pisze się na przyuczenie😉
Szacun
Dziękuję :)
Masterful craftsmanship. This will not only last generations, it's something that will become an heirloom to your family. A joy to watch.
I hope :) Thanks a lot!
Awesome.
i love his drill for countersinking.

Wow! That handpowered pillar-drill though! SO satisfying to watch. Can’t even emagine how satisfying it is to use! I MUST have one!!!
Also, very exquisit work! 👌
Simply love it
Waaw...that is amazing....
Great job! I've noticed some workshop tricks, but your manual drills makes me cry! Total hardcore with only hand tools!
Thank you Mikhail :) i love that drill press!
The only way to sum up this work is... WOW! I am amazed and inspired. Thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot Brandon!
Beautiful just beautiful... Well designed and executed.
Thanks a lot John :)
very nicely done, and THANK YOU for no annoying music over the video
You're welcome :) Thanks!
That's funny, I fell asleep. Who would want to live in a musicless world?

Thanks a lot mate!
Wow! Great build!
Thank you!
@ the 1:29 mark I got stuck on the anvil's cameo appearance - what a beauty. Looks like an awesome modification of a piece of rail.

Thanks a lot!
Great job!
Just amazing
Thank you :)
Cool!
Un trabajo excelente! De alta calidad, me encanta tu trabajo, gran saludo desde Argentina!
Thanks a lot! Regards from Poland :)
Very very very good!!!
Thanks a lot Jose!
I like your tools man they are all classic every time it comes to the part of your using your drill press I had to fast forward it to make it faster for you
Wow
Reviewed in detail your video several times. With stops and photos of frames to yourself in the photo gallery. I plan to make myself the same nuisance on the guides, I have already acquired all the details, and the stripes and screw from the screw support for scaffolding, with a tee for attaching the flywheel, and the flywheel itself from a shovel cutter. And it's important that I do everything while winter, in a city apartment in Moscow. The spouse does not fight, - endures. And I will make a folding garden chair Adirondack with a retractable footrest from under the seat. In CZcams, only one video has seen this kind of design, thank you for the detailed video and idea!! Hello from Moscow!!
Thanks a lot! So good luck :)
One word: beautiful. I saw you don't like manual tools ! Like me, but you have more courage than me. Thank you for the travel.
And the english tools are beautiful too.
Amazing work!
Thank you Aram!
Mad visionary skill ! and pretty phenomenal camera work too. love everything about this.
Wonderful : the way you do your sliding tail with rivets is crazy simple but very clever. Really amazing and the result is perfect. I love your particulary up to date column drill😉, really useful
👌👍🖖
Thanks James! It was fun to build that vise but it took me a lot of time.. Regards!

Dear Stavros, Nice to see a woodworking class. A big hug from Brasil Said Choucair
Thanks a lot :) Regards!
Stavros
There is no doubt for everyone that you are a master craftsman.
I'm not sure from what country you are sending the videos, it's sure no US even though you have a few tools from the US.
Great work on the vise but if used a few shims between the steel plates you could have saved yourself a few hours of endless filing...
It was almost a sin to see you shortening that long screw, I would have made the tail longer... but that's me.
Thanks for the video.
Hey Ronin! Thanks for the tips. I'm from Poland. Regards!
Nice job. I just added a tail vice, love it (not as fancy as yours, but it's very functional).
Damn you do fine work with minimalist tool kit. Now I got to find the rest of your bench build. Bravo!
Thanks! The rest you can find only on my instagram profile, regards!
Belíssimo trabalho meus parabéns. Nota 10
Thank you!
Qué buen trabajo amigo.
Excelente, Excelente, Excelente.-
Thank you!
truly impressive work!
Thanks a lot!
Funny the things you pick up on CZcams. I learned something in those brass pins made to rivet the sheet steel together. A great alternative to welding, or through-fastening. I'm stealing that for sure!! Good stuff, Stavros!
That's my pleasure! Regards!
