Highland cattle come in black white brow and ginger. The ginger become popular because queen Victory always chose a ginger when judging cattle shows, so the local farmers learned that if you wanted to win the cattle show you better have a ginger beat on show. Great vlog lads.

As a former Highland breeder here in the U.S., only solid colors are allowed to be registered. In our herd we had a couple of blacks, various shades of dark red going to light red or ginger as you call it, and also dun and grey.

As a subscriber of old, I never fail to tune in every Friday. I have enjoyed the transition from narrow boating to your new life in Scotland. Last year, we swam naked in Loch Lomond, but for a 'wind down' for me, I prefer T.N.C. Telford Naturist Club. One step through the gates and the whole world disappears. Keep up the great videos both. As long as you continue to film, I'll continue to watch. Thanks guys, Dave and Sophie xx

I used to go to a gym and after my workout, hit the sauna for about 15 minutes, then go into the cold dip which was about 35, 36 degrees and worked up to about 12 minutes of tolerance. It sounds like the loch is a lot warmer temperature, although I am not good at these metric conversions. Took the training when I was 8 or 9 years old and will now be 82 in a month, so have forgotten a lot of it. Take care and stay well my friend.

August September come around we would spend most of the day in the water now at 70 years old I head for the Lakes. water temperature 70/75 degrees Fahrenheit LOL

What an amazing experience. Morag was quite protective of her calf, warning me off with her horn when I was a bit too close.

I have no idea how you keep a straight face sometimes Colin! Lovely to see your travels and what you’re up to, I’ve been doing the cold thing but in the shower for vegus nerve happiness and I look forward to that part of the shower most, we are in winter right now in Australia and often get gusts from Antarctica 🥶,so it’s already cold enough showering 🧼

Thank you so much for posting this, Colin 💕. I’ve been trying for ages to pluck up courage to do wild swimming but feel somewhat apprehensive (even though I have a friend who is professional!). You’re inspiring me to give it a go … wet-suited!! Hope all is good for both of you and Otis 🥰

Love the coooooos and always found a wet suit good when windsurfing when I were a younglin. The Lochs look a great place for a dip, beautiful surroundings xx

Many years ago I had a chance to visit Lochs . My first thought was "I looks like a giant pot of tea".

Loved this one! I grew up spending summers at the lake, swimming as soon as the ice was off it. A wetsuit would be nice for the early and late season swims. Thanks for sharing. Love your banter together!

Love the highland cows. Lots of laughs too. Well done with wild swinging they say it’s good for you but I don’t think I could 😀. Have a fab week x

I love swimming in lakes and the ocean. I grew up swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and would sometimes venture in as early as mid May. Now, I am a bit older and usually wait until end of June!

I'm impressed, 8 degrees is the coldest I've been in, and not more than 5 min', in trunks. Got first wet suit last year, they are great for staying in longer. Enjoy. J
