#TheRaconteurs #NowThatYoureGone #ImYourPuppet - Hudba
True Story: I was driving though Madison Wisconsin about 20 years ago. I think I was 19 at the time. It had to have been about 2am when I pulled up to a McDonalds to go to the bathroom and get a cup of coffee before getting back on the road. When I parked I noticed a nice bus parked with its shades drawn, but I didn't think much else about it. As I'm walking up to the door of McDonald's a man gets off the bus and starts walking to the door too. We get to it at about the same time and he holds it open for me. I say thanks and proceed down the hall to where the bathroom is and he follows me. I get to the bathroom door, walk in, and kind of hold the door a little bit so it doesn't slam in his face, assuming it was going to be a bathroom with multiple stalls and urinals....but it wasn't. He says thanks and walks in right behind behind me. This bathroom was just a toilet and sink. nothing else. No partitions or anything. I freeze and look at him and he politely says, please go ahead. I just looked at him kind of waiting for him to leave and wait on the other side of the door, but he doesn't move. He's just staring at me like, "hurry up kid!" And so I go up to the toilet and try and go, but I can't because there is this very large scary man with me in the McDonalds bathroom and I'm pee-shy. It was probably only 15 seconds, but it felt like a year, trying so hard to pee and get it over with, and finally he says to me, "Would it help if turned the faucet on?" I said, "No, I guess I didn't really need to go after all." and I zip up and leave. So I go to the counter and I must have looked weirded out because before the cashier took my order he asked if was ok? I said, "yeah I'm ok, I'll just have a coffee." As he's getting my coffee the guys comes out of the bathroom walks up to me and says, "Don't worry about it man, I couldn't go either." and he leaves. I got my coffee and did the same. Two or three years later I'm watching TV and the video for seven nation army comes on. I heard the song, but never saw the video. I start watching it and realize the bathroom man from McDonalds was Jack White. Cool guy.
What a great story you shared with everyone. Thanks! 🙂👍🎸🎶
That’s a crazy story! But, he was a “very large man”? He doesn’t look it on TV, that’s for sure!
I want to believe this story, I really do
@@kookoothebirdgirl1 ever noticed how small guitars look on his hands?
@@OBrusolino no, but I’ll look next time!
Best rock band in America right now
Best rock band in the world ever*
They are awesome, the new record is so good too.
FOO FIGHTERS ARE PRETTY DARN GREAT. :))))
The Raconteurs / QOTSA / NIN
I do not want any trouble 👀... but... the black keys are pretty neat too
Jack always has a crazy guitar. Him tapping that mute button is great.
Jack is on another level, so great one of my all time favourites
Jack White is on the level
@@otavio048 He is the level
Loved Jack White and Jimmy Page in the movie It Could Get Loud! Two exquisite musicians that take us to another exquisite level in the universe for sure!
Just grooving here, adore the drummer, Jack's guitar and the vocals . ❤❤❤
That's one of the nicest Les Paul customs I've seen in a long time.
Is there a kill switch on the pickguard or something?
@@bentackett6299 I think there might be one wired into the bigsby tremelo.
So I did some research and he has a black "interrupter switch" on the pickguard. Earlier in the song he taps it real fast. Later he hits the Bigsby arm for a warble effect.
Indeed. It’s a pity it’s out of tune
I've gotten rid of every Gibson I've ever owned.
I love Jack's face when he's seriously in a solo . It's like a an accountant that not gonna miss a single integer
integer
@@sloburnjo sorry I got invited to parties in grade school. Not spelling bees
as he gets older its gettin more jimmy page ish :D
The last 30 seconds of the video Jack is reconciling the fuck out of the last quarters receipts
@@SandlerDeluxe He's way better than Page, He's on or above Gilmour's level at this point.
Jack's solo on I'm Your Puppet is so amazing.
Jack is always amazing 😊
These guy's musicianship is on another level. Each gives space to flow and at the same time harmonize for the perfect musical creativity. By far cutting edge band and Jack is just a Genius well respected by many.
"I'm your Puppet" "I'm your Puppet" Originally sung by James & Bobby Purify in 1967 and Written by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham.
no have idea.. thank you!! i really love it
I guess I'm old now AM Radio favorite
I always thought Aaron Neville sung this song lol
@@KennyG_420 nope
The drummer gives me chills with his play and subtlety
JW can make a tried and true R&B classic all his own. An aspect of his genius.
I’m your puppet! No way haha I love that song I can’t believe they covered it
Jacks from Detroit he loves that Motown stuff you can really hear it in his bluesy style
I love my life.
Because I have Jack White in my life!
There is a magic element when the piano, xylophone and Jack and Brenden’s voice mix.
This is what I am talking bout
Rockin Roll Baby .......
Yes
I never get tired of listening to this. The level of raw talent in that room gives me chills every time.
Jack White. Can sing about "a ball and a biscuit" and about being "your puppet". Huge Jack White fan here.
I love when this video pops up and I got my speakers hooked up
I'd loved to hear Jack White singing in this "Now that you're gone" live version. His voice gives something so unique to each song he "touches". Absolutely a stunning musician.
So nice to see people actually play instruments and listen to each other as a unit.
I love the part in the song where Jack and Brendan trade guitar parts. Always sounds so awesome in the car with the hard pans... Excellent work gentlemen!
While I'm here, thank you guys for getting together so many years ago so I could discover Benson's solo work... He quickly became one of my favorite artists. And he only gets better with time. Dear Life is so freakin' good!
They're totally positive energy when they get together and just play
JACK So very talented and a lovely face.
Whoever engineered this...bravo. Sounds amazing. And by the way...if The Raconteurs ever did a tour of old motown/stax classics, I would 10000% GO! That cover of 'I'm a Puppet' suited Jack's voice SO SO well
I'm Your Puppet is more a Mussel Shoals song than Memphis or Motown. It's Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham, writers and players at the Fame studio.Hall of Fame guys.
@@Staylogical ahh fair. Thanks for the lowdown. I didn't know that 😊👍🏻
Indeed a Mussel Shoals song & agree suited Jack's voice
The best rock band of this era. No doubt
Weak in the knees after hearing the full version of "I'm Your Puppet".
Really enjoy watching and listening to real musicians, with real talent. Loved the rendition of "I'm your puppet".
"I'm Your Puppet" Yes!! Love it!!
My parents used to listen I’m your puppet when I was a kid! This made me cry on a number of levels! God bless beach music and Jack White!
Now that you're gone is an absolute jam. One of my favorite songs ever.
Raconteurs...... Forever ⚡⚡⚡
I think he sounds amazing. His voice & on the guitar.
DAMN. JACK. You sure pulled this off, my favorite version EVER!!! Awesome!!! 🤩🤩🤩( @ 3:47 'puppet')
Jack white stared me directly In the eyes at riot fest and ever since his music has haunted me and has somehow improved, the best guitar player today thank you for existing.
I'm jealous. I would pay money for 10 seconds of uninterrupted eye contact with Jack White.
Haha
He can't be the best living guitar player. Mark Knopfler, Lindsey Buckingham and at least 200 other people have him beat.
Lsd does that
And you didn't pass out?
Rip James Purify 💗 love that they covered I'm Your Puppet
They did it justice, too! I love both versions!
True story after the concert I played this video repeatedly…. My head in the clouds 😉
Drummer is on point as usual.
I would give anything if I could get guitar lessons from Mr. White . He one of the best in the world ever !
What a fucking amazing version of Now That You're Gone!!!!!!
Man that’s good stuff right there. These guys need to play the Super Bowl 2020. Time for good music to rule again.
ALWAYS dug this tune so very much. First got into it in about 1965-66 in dusty little Marana Arizona elementary school where all we had were little hand-held am radios to walk around school with. James and Bobby Purify....orig artists from Florida did this. I've heard a dozen versions....each one moves me and zips me back to the mid 60's instantly. Can I really be this old? Guess not, if this cut jumpstarts my soul yet again. Beautifully done, Raconteurs. And hell yeah...jam that bass tough like you're doin', brother.
I'm in love with this version of I'm your puppet.
Coffee and this tune just turned my day round 🌟
Hes one of few musicians I've seen in concert who were better in concert than in studio. That speaks volumes... his shows are more than expected that's forshure
love i'll never leave u
'I'm Your Puppet' has a very Motown vibe to it.No surprise from a Detroit boy,I like it a lot!
Muscle Shoals music at it's finest. Can hear the ghost of Aretha all through this
Jack man i love how he takes fuckin sounds just like chords that almost exsist and just rips them in to a guitar riff
My favorite moment is when they switch back and forth with those chords at the end of the first song.
Thanks from France Gentlemen ! Keep on rocking!!!
This one hell of a good performance, they really are back
My lord that guitar play between guitars at the end of now that your gone is absolute genius.
It looks like they edited Jack's hands the way he plays so fucking perfect.
I’ll always love Jack White. He’s the best.
The Raconteurs became the most powerfull rock&roll band every time they play "Now, That You're Gone".
Jack takes guitar playing to another level
Fuck!!!!! Jack is a genius. I'm your puppet!!!! Making me and my 83 year old Tia (aunt) so very happy. Cant wait for St. Augustine.
what a cute thing to envision.... envisioning you two swaying and dancing to this 💖💖💖🤗🤗🤗
You can never go wrong with some Raconteurs! They have some great chemistry, stellar musicianship and the camaraderie and fun on top of everything else.
I m your puppet..... classic. Thanks fellas.
What an incredible cover of such a beautiful song. Well done boys.
the mics they use make then sound awesome
This is the highlight of my day wow 😍
If any band could do a cover of this song and do just as well... it could only be them. Good job Raconteurs!
One of the greatest guitar players of my generation. (JW) See u un Mexico city !
Hoping to see you in 2022 Jack🤞🤘
I’m your puppet. Glad I discovered this and the original. Both great.
That Les Paul just sings. This is so necessary, thank Jack.
I think they're both wonderful & Jack is great by himself too.
I am really glad that The Raconteurs returned , it's like a piece of youth (the college years ) coming back. And even their new stuff sounds nostalgic to me.
Love this band
The Raconteurs is clearly the band I enjoy listening the most since I am in confinement!!
I saw them at Austin City Limits. Absolutely fantastic !!
I can't stop listening to this!!
Whoever hasn’t seen “Cold Mountain” you need too. Yes, these Guys are talented. I love this Song or CD, I should say.
♥️♥️
The movie ?
I've lost count of how many times I've listened to these 2 song's in the past 24hrs....over & over & over again. I could watch Jack play guitar forever....🤘🔥😍😍😍
Yes mate, you know that ✌️
Jack's guitar
I agree.. the best Rock band
Maaaan, I really felt that
Jack White is my favorite person in the world.
These guys are firing on all cylinders. Glad to see it. Still listen to the new record weekly.
Intense!!, is not intense enough to describe Jack when the guitar has him!!. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dope A.F.
Can't say anything else but good Lord they are Great! Wow
Proud of my town again. Not only Bootsy's back, we got these guys. I've been hooked since I first heard. I kick myself in ars for not catching them nearby recently before Covid.
These guys are so underrated! I love watching Jack White play! I like his voice too. He's so gifted! 👍🎸🤩
Easily the best performance of Now That You're Gone
The drums are so groovy
This is a amazing ~awesome band in America right now for sure ♨️
Man these studio sessions are fire 🔥
Jack always with the heat, thank you
They are so insanely good!
Glad they are using the FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, AL. Went to college in Florence and it really is a great area to live! As backwater as everyone thinks Alabama is, it has great beauty to be found no where else! Love the cover of I'm Your Puppet too
Love that they take odd stuff out of the circa box an remaster it . So damn cool
My gut response when the video first opened on that particular studio: More cowbell!
Right , it resally needs more cowbell
Hahahaha....ahhhh....so freakin sweet...
I'm obsessed with the new album! one of the best albums of all time!! Thank you Raconteurs for making music that I love! Truly keeping rock n roll alive in this era of totally confusing music genres.
Love this the more i hear it ... these guys can do no wrong when they get together ...
Jack is amazing
