So I tell you I been fighting cancer my whole life and I'm about 7/8 to the end in reality and have a really crappy pain management. When the Dr decides to cut my meds one month I'm listening to s.o.b hourly during that whole month. It helps my wife and daughter get me smiling a little when Im in Max pain riding the lightning I call it. And when I'm not passing out from the pain. And my fave... I need never get old...so me....my heart out to y'all cuz of all peeps I totally know and my heart goes out to ya. No one should have to experience that he'll. God bless

Your not alone if this kicked you in the gut. More nights than I can count I watched my mom drag herself out the door to work the night shift plus over time to keep us eating. She passed away 2 years ago and I never forget what she did for me. Funny how musicians can write songs that transport you to different places in time. Some good, some bad, but they always seem to bring you face to face with what cuts you to your core. I love this band.
Dude... I watched these guys perform their hearts out last Saturday in darien lake NY, I can tell you I cry to this song by myself all the time...and hearing them sing it you will have to muster all of your strength to not absolutely break down in front of them, my father passed when I was 14 and this has a special place to me with my momma as well

I'm watching this, sitting 3 feet from my mom's urn. She passed March 22nd, and it's been hard. I loved her so much, and she loved me heart and soul. I'm devastated she's gone, but I'm glad to have brought her back home to the Ozarks of Missouri. She would have loved this. I love this. Thank you.

Lost my Mom this past March. Everyday I live on, I try to honor her by not giving up. She never complained, and had every reason to. Toughest person I have ever known. I lost my Dad when I was a child. If you still have your parents, tell them you love them and give em a hug. We should all have compassion for one another, and share some of the love our Mothers gave us. The world would be a better place, and we could show our Moms that we appreciate all the sacrifices they made for us too. I had a terrible relationship with my mom growing up. Drugs ruled her life, but even in spite of those demons clawing into her back, she never stopped trying. She’s better now, dealing with her past that caused her addictions, and I have an adult perspective and appreciation for her.

If your Mama is still living, call her today. Even better, visit her if she still lives nearby. Give her a hug, hold her close like she once held you, and tell her that you love and cherish her. That's a pretty small duty considering what your Mama has done for you.

"You think you carry such weight, I know I never beat you boy" resonates deep with me. When I was a teenager I was so angsty and defiant and thought my life was so shitty. Now as a grownup I realize how good I had it, how loving my parents were, and how my mom and dad gave every last penny to make us loved and happy and never mentioned how horribly they were both abused and neglected as kids. Found out from my sister when I was an adult.

Cancer took my mother in 84', she was always there for me. she passed at the age of 56, I'm 61 now and wonder how much joy she missed. I listen to the words in this song and find it uncanny in the statements my mother has made to me over the phone.
Growing up and moving away proved to be brutal on my mother.
Sadly I never considered just how much or how so.
She weathered it like a solid rock but she would let me know about it with near these exact same words.
I lost Mama two years ago.
Looking back through the views and sentiments in the words in this song, I realize just how much more effort and emphasis I should have placed in communicating with her.
I know she would never be satisfied with me living with regret in my heart over it. So that much I will not do.
What I will do is uplift my spirits and I will place the emphasis of care and communication with my wife and children and grandchildren.
After all I know this is what she taught me and I know this is what would honor her memory and allow rest within her soul.
I have not run far enough. I have not worked hard enough.

These boys know where they came from...the music is from the heart friends. Very well done musically and visually....a sincere tribute to the person that gave you life, cherish your Mom. She had high hopes for you and most likely worked much too hard to give you the things that you wanted as my mother did. If you grew up in a single parent home as I did you'll understand...we weren't rich by any means but there was roof and food on the table, that's what mother's do, take care of their babies, it's engrained in them. Now that your Mom is older, maybe in residential care or a nursing home you make sure to give her everything she needs....even if you can't afford it for yourself, one day when she is gone you'll understand...remember, cherish your mother, God knows she cherished you.

Closure is a hard thing to come by when you miss a loved one's final moments and they keep asking for you. My mother passed away September 14th 2014. I wasn't around no one had any way to contact me. I found out in November of 2014 by my nephew answering the door and saying mama wanted her baby boy. Not A-day goes by that I don't hear those words. You are song Hey mama is my way of coping with it. Makes it hurt so much less.. thank you..

I've had this song on repeat a lot lately, partly in preparation of the future.
As I struggle and succeed at making my own dreams a reality, I am also coaching my kids on what it really means to live your best life and be the best versions of themselves.
Although we've had a few bumpy spots along the way, they've all been pretty minor blips on the radar of life. But I know one day we will experience major blips, and when that happens, I want to be the best version of my momself to coach them through that too.
I've had this song on repeat a lot lately, partly in reflection of the past.
I am thankful for my mom who worked a full-time job, drove us all over God's green earth, who was almost always at every event, did all the grocery shopping, and had a hot dinner on the table every single night for our not-small family. Sometimes we even got to have late-night chocolate milk and ice cream around the dinner table with Dad before he left to go to work at 10. And most days she was able to do all of this without complaint and with a good attitude. I really can't even imagine how tired she must have been.
I didn't appreciate her. I didn't know I was supposed to, if that makes any sense. I guess that means I took her for granted.
When her and Dad divorced, she was 8 years younger than I am today. Now that I'm 42, I look at other 34-year-old moms and think, "I'm older now than my mom was then." And I have an overwhelming sense of sympathy come over me for her as an individual, not just as my mom. More than being sympathetic, I can now be empathetic with her, mom-to-mom, woman-to-woman, wife-to-wife.
Every day that passes, I find myself judging others less and less and less and less. And, man, that's a wonderful feeling! I find myself being calmer and wiser, and that's a great feeling too!
Thank you, Mom, for all you have done for me, especially those thousands upon thousands of things that I never even knew you were doing to take care of me when most days you didn't even have any time for yourself.

I know it's been a year. I did the exact thing. My father passed away last October. He was my best friend, it took me a while but I realized while my father was my best friend my mom is my best advocate. I don't know you but I love you.

K'zres B-Ga my son left for homecoming and never came home. His dad died when he was two and it was just us for a while then I got remarried and had two more sons and we we're a small but close family till his friends at 17 convinced him his dad that raised him since two was not his father. Hate gree in his heart. I only spoke of his father in the best way never sharing with him how alcohol took his life at 23 cuz even after having a son he still refused to stop. I thought I was doing the right thing but he turned on me as well and has not had any contact with me in 11 years now. Tommorow he turns 28 and every year I hope it will be the year he comes to his senses and reaches out to me but he never does. He has no idea how much he has hurt me in the years that have passed. God forgive me but I have to stop letting it hurt me I've been to therapy and nothing takes the pain away. Everyone please love your mother you only have one and no matter what she will live you all over again if just given the chance. Michigan mom who still crys and hurts for her son .
