Hitting the Queue All , and getting Tank like 8-10 games in a row should tell you all you need to know about the state of tanks this season
I just do it for the bp xp now. I used to be a tank main but it's so miserable I decided to go learn a dps
Is it region specific? Because if I doit I get support 90/100 tank 9/100 and dps once
@@kin-3877 Time and region specific thing, some regions if you queue at a certain time you'd see the same persons on the enemy team because literally no one is there to be paired against you

The only reason why I still haven't fully switched to support is because support has no tracking heroes like Soldier or Tracer.

Best widow tip I’ve ever heard/picked up on from watching OWL is how important being unpredictable is.
A lot of widow players take the same angle over and over again. You want to pop up where no one thinks you are gonna pop up.

Yup. Back when i used to play, i would win alot of widow duels despite not being that great mechanically because i took weird angles. I loved receiving "Why are you there???" messages in game 😂

I dont have great aim, but I look for off angles to catch soft-afk supports, and I usually pop off at the start of the round

i one trick ana in masters/gm and my last game before i got gm (again) was on new junk city, a miserable map to play ana on. i tried to play ana but i realized that if i kept playing ana i would lose so i swapped to mercy and we won 3 points in a row.
i have less than 12 hours on mercy all seasons combined, but i have over 200 hours on ana. mercy is a braindead hero

It's actually true, people who always play brig for the first time always think they are a tank but smaller but they be like, "uuu, with the shield and stuff I think I'm suitable to be a Frontline support with tank"
But actually no, she is very hard to play "properly" as need skills to make sure you able to survive while protect your other supports or any backline DPS such as widow or Ashe, and she also need to know when to peel for inspire or when to use your shield properly
So yeah, brig easy to play if you just want to smack people, but she is very hard to play in proper way
Brig is 'easy' to play, 'hard' to master.
It comes down to:
1. Inspire, whipshot, miss, inspire, inspire, whipshot, inspire...
2. Throw health at people that need it.
3. Peel for people you can peel for.
4. ...Inspire, whipshot, miss, whipshot, miss, whipshot, inspire...
5. Go in when other people go in.
6. ...Inspire, inspire, inspire, whipshot, inspire...
7. RALLY TO MEEEEE
The 1000hrs quote is actually historically used for any skill a person can learn.
At 1000 hours, its presumed you understand the thing/activity at a fundamental level.
I think they released that Ana is actually the most played hero across all ranks. Mercy was close behind though. This is just a guess from me but I think the Mercy community is louder because she is one-tricked at a higher rate than Ana since her kit is less transferable to other heroes. And it also makes sense that they have to be louder when they’re always the ones being looked down on.
ok but they are being looked down on for a good reason. mercy is way easier to play than ALL the other heros. while i barely have any time on mercy i still find that i can swap to her and do really good on her in gm lobbies, i can't do that with lucio, or any other support that i dont play

Playing tank is actually so miserable, the enemy tank immediately swapped to Orisa after the first team fight and I physically could not even get close enough to properly fight the team before dying. I probably played it bad as well but I was so tilted towards with them enemy team shit talking and the enemy tank calling tank diff that I was just fuming

That old sentiment is legit. I can muscle my way to high plat with any character, but it takes about 30-50 hours to make diamond with a new character w/o swaps.
It took about 300 hours on Zen to hit Masters back in the day.

I wanna say as a ball main, I respect the hell out of mercy. The good ones actually see and what you’re going for and know when to strengthen you for a piledrive or when to heal you so you don’t gotta pop shields. I’ve been loving the majority of mercy I been in games with lately

It's crazy how much of the advice for the game is "dont listen to the trolls" when ultimately the best way to play this game is literally with all text and voice chats muted. Unless you're stone cold, listening to people below like GM is just going to be a distraction at best or more likely tilt you.
'Turn off your comms' has to be one of the best tips I've ever received from anyone, ever.
Took me way too long to actually listen, though. The 'communication is important' crowd are loud and relentless. But damn if golden silence hasn't significantly improved my OW experience.
listening to gm players isn't helpful either lol. low rank players think that ur team magically gets better when u reach a high rank because they see their plat player playing like a gold player going 6-12, but what most people dont realize is that u'll encounter gm teammates that play like a masters player and go 6-12

My only problem with mercy is that she is very reliant on having a good dps. Competent isn't good enough. I have no qualms with someone swapping to mercy to pocket our 15-3 soujorn/ash/pharah/echo/etc. What i do have problems with is someone walking out of spawn on mercy because that usually means they plan on being 90% yellow and 75% on the tank and at that point just play ana or kiri or illari.

If you try to challenge widow as ana in diamond or above, you will die, almost always.

@@sergiohenrique3551 Ana's range is longer than Widow's now on certain maps, so Widow's oneshot becomes a two to three shot kill that has a slower fire rate than Ana.

8:07 Ana is thee most played hero in higher elo and yes i do agree mercy does take skill (not a lot), but it’s not nearly as much as say Tracer or Genji. don’t get me wrong people who only play skillful hero’s have more game sense then someone that plays say bastion. but yet are still ranked lower due to how much knowledge it takes to play that one hero.(I’m a masters support peaked masters 2 as well as 135 hours on Lucio)
The skillfully mercys just have a movement that is insane and it's just frustrating to play against a character that just avoids everything or eats a whole ultimate and still LIVES

5:35 Flats if you didn’t know almost all the console players OW1 stats got wiped out when OW2 came out. It messed up my winrates and stuff. So now I have a 400% win rate in all modes on Winston and a 147% win rate on zarya in all modes

The Mercy player was all in all smart about her points, but dropped the ball completely by turning it into a role war. "it's the tanks and dps that have bad people who are mean to me". Like I will get shit talked for stating an objective truth simply because they think I'm a dps and that's why I within context may argue for a dps point of view. And yes I main dps overall, but they don't even know that, nor do they realize I've actually been playing more support than dps over the entirety of Overwatch 2 for various reasons, and they have a blind eye to when I make the same arguments as defense for supports in the very same thread. They just assume anyone arguing against them is a certain role, to justify them feeling they're being opposed. Like, people just stare with tunnel vision at the roles that their bias associates people with, as if that is the only context that matters. "Oh you're a dps? Your opinion is invalid in this Ana discussion then! Suck it" is what I get from people so often when I see them arguing online. And this goes all ways, to be clear. People never fail to turn arguments into an "us vs them" situation, regardless of whether the role in question is even relevant for the points that people make.
I'm saying it here. Most vocal players in the community are entitled af and really need a look in the mirror before they talk.

I've played a LOT of Mercy (3 hours lifetime), so take it as FACT when I say, "She is a hero in the game."
I think in season 1 of ow2 tanks were just literally better than any dps. The damage was nearly the same, but they were close to unkillable. Now damage and healing has been nerfed all over the board, so innitial health doesn't mean anything anymore. So as a tank (as there is still only 1) your job is to just survive, as with out you the push is basically lost. And for that you need to hope the subs have their heals stuch up your behind as deep as the other team does without leaving the dps to die.
Support is a brain power role. Mechanical skill is important but, being smart is even better.

When someone says "i can play all ___ heros" i instantly know they are a bad player or at the very least they're a casual with no deeper understanding of the game. Any subsequent advice or reprimands can probably be ignored.
Mercy might not require perfect mechanical skill but from what I've gathered the best mercy players really master her positioning and movement techs.

I think i got like 400 hours on Ana as my most played and am in GM4 atm. I laughed when she said 145 hours was a lot. Its a lot but not to someone who didnt start during overwatch 2 lol.
It took me 800hrs in game roughly 500ish on mercy and I peaked gm4 💀 I started playing in 2018-19 and that's still absolutely nothing compared. I have nothing on a gm mercy who hit gm/was consistently gm in ow1

My "best" time in a game was back when I actually played it, I had 1400 on battlefield 4, but after getting banned from 40+ servers by salty admins I kinda just stopped

the last time I played tank in comp roleq , was ONLY to do my placements last season and other than that I played it in comp MH and comp openq lately AND BROOOOTHER. I REFUSE to solo q that shit. last time I played it in CRQ [my 3rd? 4th? placement match] I was doing perfectly fine on tank whilst my dps refused to counter pick [they were getting rolled too, whilst having the full support of our heals and me, not much more I could really do] and yet I was getting blamed cuz I didn't switch to ram vs rein [rein was not a problem for me at all] and got shit on SO bad. they must've been q'd or something bcs it felt like they collectively shared one brain that was on life support
not to mention that I got told to "do everyone a favour, uninstall and jump out of my flat window" - I've had toxicity hurled at me a million times at this rate and stuff equally or even worse than this, so I'm used to it but it still sucks man. I finished my placements full of anxiety and just curled up into a ball lifelessly watching youtube for the rest of the night lmfao
I don't mind 5vs5, but this is sometimes why I miss the prior. when the dps [and/or supp who sometimes just dilly dally off and have no presence in the game] has no impact, it's nice to have that second tank to cooperate with

Currently sitting on 4-12 in my tank role cards debating whether to even play again the rest of the season because I don't want to drop out of plat. The funniest part is that instead of queueing tank I just spam zarya in open queue and am farming games in diamond
I find that with all the talk about mercy being no skill is mostly because its a shooter game, and peoples minds instantly go to "if its not aim skill its not skill" but you need more than aim skill to be good at FPS games, think for a second, if all you needed was aim skill then these bronze cheaters in diamond and masters would not get hard shit on 80% of the time.
Overwatch, and all other FPS games have other skills to master too, like Positioning, Game sense and adaptability. Mercy takes wayyy more Positional and game sense skill than mechanical skill, let me tell you that YOU CAN TELL a good mercy VS a bad mercy in everything from how they use their Blue beam/healing beam rotation, their GA, resurrect, etc.
People just go for her because dull minded COD and Val players only see aim skill as skill
