    Thank you for this excellent breakdown of the new lineup! I'm a very new Hobonichi user (I've been using the Techo for a couple of weeks now, got the 2023 one on clearance to try it out) and I absolutely love it. I'm quite drawn to the falling stars cover, I think the cat with the stars is absolutely adorable. Hope you're having a great weekend!

      Thank you for watching 😄 The falling stats is a great choice! It’s the an art style I absolutely love. The glossy material is really sturdy.

    Oh my...some gorgeous delights shown here. I do like the black cover and the Panda..eek.
    I bought my first HObonichi Weeks this year via ebay when someone was getting rid of their purchases so I wasn't too fussy as to what I would get. Glad that the website accepts Paypal too.

      Yay for your second year in a Hobonichi! 🥳 I’m not sure about PayPal yet. But I’m hoping that they would have this too!

    I'm also ordering the Black Gingham HON -- the texture of the Paper Series (debuted last year with the Champagne Gold) is incredible.

    The black HON cover looks so stylish! If I hadn’t already lost my heart to the Tomitaro Makino collection, this would be among my top choices for sure. As it is, I’m going to go for the Tomitaro Makino HON 💕

    • @PaperJoyPH
      @PaperJoyPH  Před rokem +2

      That was originally my Top Pick! The Makino weeks has a really nice texture too! But the Black Gingham was such a game changer for me.

    The prices are not converted. They are set at whatever price they want it to be. I checked and all of the prices that were listed for products in USD were actually higher than if you convert the yen price at the current exchange rate. For example the Liberty Fabrics floral cover says in the Tobichi that it costs 7700 yen. That is $52.58 when i converted it to USD but the website tells me the product will cost $59. They are being sneaky with that. The marketing said free shipping but it seems that they will be charging us the “free shipping” by hiking the prices. 😢

      @PaperJoyPH  Před rokem +1

      I'm sorry to hear that the prices are converted differently. I'm not sure why the conversion is different. It may also apply the real time conversion at the time of purchase at check out. We shall see on the 1st of September :)

      This is probably largely because of tax, markup, and labor. The costs of doing small business especially overseas. Well worth it in my opinion! 😊

    I absolutely adore your content! I was wondering if you'd at all be willing to do a video with spread ideas for planning a wedding in Hobonichi Weeks? I want to get one to plan my wedding and I'm not sure what all to put in there or what layouts to use.

    • @PaperJoyPH

    I have been following the launch on various FB pages and while Hobonichi seem to overhauled their website, the prices definitely appear to have gone up when the currency conversion rates and shipping costs are added compared to last years which is a pity. I will be shopping around various European websites to see who is offering the best price. Great video.Thanks for sharing.

    • @PaperJoyPH
      @PaperJoyPH  Před rokem

      The currency conversion is different from real time conversion. But I think it's a great idea to support local shops. :)

    I will be getting the hiroko kubota "stars" cover! I was NOT a fan of last years colors and got stuck with the purple for 2023. I am SO excited to have a Weeks cover that is actually my style!

      @@PaperJoyPH I think I have decided on my weeks. I have also discovered forward shipping companies. However, I do not think I will buy anything Japan only. Though I want the Doraemon Weeks to add to my collection. I usually use JES (Japan Easy Shopper) to get my Doraemon, this year i also need the cover on cover for Back to the Future. 5 November is my mothers birthday, that year he went back to she turned 15. I do not need the covers, just the CoC

    Hi, I’m just learning about hobonichi so I hope this is not a stupid question. What is the difference between the tecno and the cousin.

    • @michellestephenson6043
      @michellestephenson6043 Před rokem +2

      The size. The original techo (or the English Planner) is A6. The Cousin is twice that size, called A5. It will also include weekly schedule pages, where the A6 size things do not have that.

      Lots of people like the paper. Or, they really like Japanese stationery. The covers are really fun to collect too!

      This question requires a bit of time to answer lol. And, I can only speak on personal experience. I've been using a Hobonichi for years now. Perhaps what drew me to Hobonichi was its thoughtful design and the quality of the products. The Hobonichi planner is an experience. :)

    • @pennycandyys
      @pennycandyys Před rokem

      @@sunshineissexy *Had. It's a new paper, going forward from now (except Tomoe River paper will still be in the Weeks this year, from what I understand).

    • @pennycandyys
      @pennycandyys Před rokem

      @@PaperJoyPH Yeah, I think there are a lot of reasons, and other than the Tomoe River paper it used to feature, I think a couple of obvious ones are:
      First, that it comes in several different styles, A5 (smallish), A6 (Cousin, larger) and Weeks (very portable, small and long, would fit in most purses or bags). And they can be further broken down from there.
      Second that you have many choices of covers, and these range from very affordable, to quite pricey, and they change every year. These covers can be completely plain, though the plain ones can be spiced up by that years special cover on covers, or they can go with girly-girls, some can be great for men, younger people (or people who relate to that), there's also the choice of not using animal products (leather), and so on. @tommym4167 Can just look at the site, this year and previous years, and I think it will be pretty obvious. I haven't touched much on the planner nature itself, I usually end up journaling in them.
