    I know, I'm repeating myself with those videos.
    But they are truely the most clear, yet comprehensive tutorials out there.
    It's not just showing off an artists skills like "you do this and then you do that line and see, it looks great" (what many bad "teachers" do on YT),
    but really teaches the toolset in a structured way.
    That's exactly how I can learn the best.

      It is interesting you bring cybertruck up. Cybertruck is built for efficiency in production, cost, and even aerodynamics. The plated design helps to keep the manufacturing ease down plus keeping the cost down as well. I am not 100% sure on this but I believe the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk followed a similar reason to looking so plated as well as having something to do with stealth and bouncing waves maybe, but I will have to research on that.

    Even though I do enjoy this series and its main focus is providing us with exercises we can do when it comes to sketching vehicles, when you started to add detail to your sketches it seems that a lot of the the detail is loosely connected to the orginal sketch. I understand that these are just exercises, but we are aiming to create a more finished sketch and details are part of that process. I think if you put a little more emphasis of connecting your details to the sketch would have been helpful.

    • @jeremy6010
      @jeremy6010 Před 6 lety +4

      DuBstepAnDa98 thanks for letting me know. I know what you mean and that’s a good question/observation to make imo. A lot of it is just time constraints due to the nature of CZcams but maybe I can elaborate on it.
      So honestly as lame as it sounds I think placement of the details is just something you have to do through repetition. I’m not really to sure what I could say on it besides practice it from life and I probably say that too much already. So if you are getting hung up there my lame suggestion is to just keep practicing it and the issues will all come out in the wash.
      Hope that helps somehow lol

    So, the only thing you need to know is just feel free to use referance lines, and demostruction. Dont try to draw from one perspective, in single shot, also draw the parts that you cant see.All you need is the ability of x-ray vision.I mean you should be able to guess the unseen parts. You must to understand the shape before you draw it. That is the point...

    • @ModernDayJames
      @ModernDayJames  Před 4 lety +1

      This is definitely not the most organic way to draw but I do think it's valuable for learning how to perceive things in 3D. If you're interested in drawing vehicles I'd highly suggest it, but you could get away without it for characters

    Nice tutorial, but when teaching you should use accurate perspective grids because a. you are a teacher and want to encourage healthy practices for your students, b. when guesstimating, the lines look all wonky and inaccurate which makes the entire drawing look bad and crooked.
    On a side note, sketchup is a great resource for students, download any car from the 3D warehouse and you can practice drawing it from any angle.

      The key to have a good eye is to see what differs something from another. Your way of blatantly saying "not much changed" makes you look like a beginner, even if you might not be.
