    A good way to make sure your lines are heading to the right invisible vanishing point is to intersect two points. So if you chose the ground plane line heading left and then drawing the modeling plane. Try creating two 'x's then draw a line through both heading to the left and it should be level.

    • @Gboythunda
      @Gboythunda Před 8 měsíci +3

      @aliciasam5239 better. I have a better understanding on how to approach organic form and perspective. These technical videos aren't much help. They help to understand how true perspective works but from an artistic standpoint you just need to draw boxes or use guidelines to capture the 3d space and draw and draw a lot to increase your intuition on how things are suppose to look right in perspective. I spent too much time approaching things from a technical perspective but it wasn't for nothing.

    • @aliciasam5239

      @@Gboythunda So do you say l should learn the artistic way then technical? I’m interested in the technical point because l find it fun

    • @Gboythunda
      @Gboythunda Před 8 měsíci +1

      @aliciasam5239 they say you have to find your own route. Depends on what level of technicality you want to achieve. I suggest read scott robertson how to draw to learn how contours work in perspective. Dont try to master it just understand it. Then learn how to draw simple forms use simple forms and see how those forms apply to the reference. All in all keep drawing and you'll become more intuitive and make connections as you grow. 2 books I suggest are villpu how to draw manual for organic forms And for perspective, perspective for comic book artist by David chelsea.

    • @itsisha9762
      @itsisha9762 Před 2 lety

      You need to understand what's wide angle and what's more of a long lens/ foreshortening for this. What he's using is a fairly longer lens so the rate of convergence is less. A wide angle lens is trickier so a longer lens is pretty good for learning the basics.

      DuartChannel its all based on Scott Robertson’s book. A lot of people find the book to be really difficult though so it helps explain how to use it and what to focus on. Plus it has some extra demos explained in different ways than Scott would. Think of it like a college perspective class. You would use Scott’s book but you still have an instructor.

    Here` s one question about basic fundamental stuff. How to converge ortographic view square into a side plane of a box. Where to cut it so that appears the same distance as previously drawn orto sqare? Have some perspetive books and the trick with drawing same horizonatl as horizon then splitting that line into five sections seems tedious to do if you plan to make more than one drawing of the same thing. I guess that james and jeremy and the almighty mathias are eyeballing it but what did you do before you could eyeball it (know is about skillz and mileage and yaddy yaddy yadda...) but lets say you want to make the same box in 10 different perspective views on the same page as some mathiaszam studies? (potato)

      Thomas Eulogy that Mathias guy is super good I follow him on ig too. He likes cats lifting and drawing apparently. I think we would get along lol. But yeah I just eyeball it usually. I bet Scott Robertson has some perfect construction for it. I just found some of his old gnomon dvds on CZcams and it made me feel like I’m trash compared to him lol

    • @thomaseulogy7206
      @thomaseulogy7206 Před 6 lety

      If I may, then my next question is, on what way did you think when you practice to eyeball it? (Like, this side suppouse to be farther cause this one is closer...I don´t know is my english understandable at this point..maybe I´m to damn analytical about it and drawing lines in general (Im on "week 2" with M.Hampton videos and book, started in November (part for lack of time, fam` n` work)..Followed you from early on on ig (your friend recommended you on his acc, I was like this guy knows stuff and working relentlessly, as a fellow teacher, wish you all the luck with art career! @jeremy6010 Před 6 lety

      Thomas Eulogy haha Thanks man I think I know what you are talking about. Basically I think if you want to get better at eyeballing or estimating you should both do more constructions and you should draw from life. It’ll just develop over time
