My man, we are cut from the same cloth. I see shoes that I am interested in, and I may even try them on, when they first come out and then I just wait and wait and wait until the price comes down. it works well.., the only shoe that never really worked for me is a Skechers model a few years back that everyone raved about.
Sometimes if they don’t work out.., they just turn into a gym or treadmill shoe.., and I move forward.

I did the same thing with my novablast 2. Had a pair when they first came out, put 600 miles on em. Then got another pair for $65 and put 600 miles on those!

Totally agree. It doesn't need to be an expensive hobby. People ran pretty well a year ago and the shoes should work well enough now. The reviews are all still online, and if you look at the reviews of the new model sometimes you find out what they really thought about the prior one. (And I see that the Saucony sale this weekend doesn't include the Endorphin Pro 3. That's one that I've never seen discounted. Maybe after NYC they'll finally offer a little break there. If not, version 4 is due in the spring.)
I saw that Believe in the Run teased they have a pair of the 4s, so I got to imagine they will start going on sale soon. I have heard a lot of good things about the 3s too.
I have the novablast 3s and love them. Got 400ish miles in them and they still feel super! Would 100% recommend

All solid choices and getting them at a discount is always a win. Have you encountered one with low durability?
I haven't really, the Asics are probably less durable than the Sauconys, but pretty negligible. I'm not too terribly picky though...

That is a question for the YouChoobs, but I ran my first marathon in a pair of Altra Escalantes and I have nothing but positive things to say about them.
