I'm still so upset about our Araq team not being good anymore cuz right after Charlotte you came to me like "yea the teams dogshit now" so I had a week for a new team for Liverpool 💀
At one point it'll be meta 🙃
It’s not meta but it’s not unusable or anything. You could still use it on ladder and such, it’s just Trick Room teams have better sweepers. Not having any good spread moves, being in a meta with Incineroar, and having Raging Bolt be able to chunk it even in Trick Room definitely isn’t helping it.
Araquanid got 13th at Liverpool so it can definitely still work well with some team adjustments
Man eff that spider.
Urshifu Dark surpassing Water is one of my favourite things to ever happen in the history of ever.
Urshifu Dark beating Urshifu Water and Lando I beating Lando T feels weird after Reg D.
Can we really say that Dark Ursh is surpassing the water if Ursh water is the one that win the last two tournaments...?
@jo-ri-oh8950 If usage number = bigger then yes we absolutely can.
@@jo-ri-oh8950yes
Everyone feared Bolt so much, they went crying back to Urshifu dark just to stay relivant
True every time I see it I have genuine fear that I don’t have a thundurus when I’m not using him
Erie impulse just helps a lot
Honestly, from a viewer pov, this is probably the best meta rn cus everything feels so fresh to watch cus with so many good mons and no standout team, every game feels completely different
So true
It’s actually amusing any possible strategy can actually work
Unless it’s a indedee team with Freddy fazbear or a damn cursed armor
They just sweep to fast
I think next week is hard wo-chien meta just you wait
I think as a spectator, it’s insanely fun to watch the meta shift every tourney. But I can see how having to completely revise your team after every tourney can get frustrating. I think keeping it this way but somehow creating more time for people to build or theory craft between tournaments would be the best of both worlds.
Tinkaton has a niche in this meta so clearly its peak
The only thing that is sure about VGC is the omnipresent Flutter Mane
Yeah, but that’s fine, because for how much of them there are, they sometimes just don’t show up. The last two regionals, maybe 3, they didn’t appear once in finals and appeared maybe five times total on stream in top 8.
And Ogerpon. There is always Ogerpon.
@@General_Cyou can’t do anything when the girl got so much versatility
To me this is the most unique legendary to date on how gimmicky and well designed it is
Also the lore
THE LORE
@@Oreca2005
Honestly, Ogerpon could be as viable as the Lousy Three and I’d still try to make her work. I’m glad they made her good, versatile, and unique without feeling overwhelmingly broken like Urshifu.
@@Endershock1678 just be glad Ogerpon masks are revealed in preview
They just can’t balance the damn bear
Also hopefully if gen. 9 comes out everything will be opened team sheet in ranked
The fact, that Registeel is coming around to being a offensive/defensive setup wincon machine is heartwarming. Screw powercreep. Daddy Steel has you covered.
Also it is funny, that you bring up the Ting-Lus cuz I think I was the one to make that comment on your vid right? The Ting-Porygon2 core is incredibly sturdy.
Well, this is the format that actually allowed me to use my dear Braviary and Volcarona, as well as my shiny incen and farigiraf I raised from eggs and see a lot of sucess, so I will 100% be remember this format fondly
I'll be remembering this format fondly for the simple fact that I was able to attend my first ever regional championship
The meta changing so wildly is frustrating and creates a lot of work for competitors, especially ones trying to do it legitimately, but it’s more enjoyable for the viewers in there being more variety in both mons and sets. Like I love the fact some wacky ideas have made it through here and there in competitive lately, and how powercreep has kinda just been thrown to the wind for many mons is great
You can’t be hitting me late at night with the out of nowhere Iron Giant reference, I gotta mentally prepare for that!
“We’re gonna sit here, and die with Blood Moon, for our country.”
We're in the giraffe meta now
I rather call it the neck meta
Farigiraf is meta, Raging Bolt is meta and apparently Iron Jugulis is finally good now
What they have in common? Necks!!!
@@mysticpumpkin8520
Iron Jugulis being just as if not more relevant than Iron Hands is not something I ever thought I’d see.
@@mysticpumpkin8520 IRON JUG MAN WHERE
I like building new teams constantly to keep the online ladder fresh so in a way it's fun to have this constant change. The flip side is as soon as i get a team that works and is crushing it all of a sudden i go to bed and the next day it sucks and has no answers to anything lol
fr built my GC team and won 7 games in a row. next day i lost 10 in a row
VGC is now finally just as inconsistent and changing as Scarlet and Violet OU has been. Tells you how crazy SV is.
Tbf aren't a lot of the OU meta shifts due to bans? like both the thing getting banned and its attempted checks not being necessary
@@cornonjacob It's been chaotic regardless of the bans just due to powercreep and how the meta picks fluctuate
I like this new channel change, would love some videos aswell of you just talking about competitive pokemon like this one. Keep it up
Whenever I think competitive is going to calm down it just keeps getting weirder and weirder
Both as a player and a viewer I love this format being as restless as it is, because while it is unstable and volatile, it's just so dang fun to both play and watch I don't mind it nearly as much.
Also Baxcalibur kinda just blows up Raging Bolt, Gouging Fire (Thermal Exchange makes you immune to burn), Landorus-Incarnate, Tornadus, and even more meta mons. Not to mention that +2 Glaive Rush is doing the same stuff tera dark gambit does, but without the horrid speed.
Im waiting till Primarina do something for official tour..
It has grear type, bulky, hit hard and can operate in/out trickroom
The grind you were in was crazy, it's great that you will take a bit more time to really enjoy doing this
honestly i like how theres no set foundation or meta this Reg, its wild, unpredictable, fun, and crazy, and i love how you can use a few favorites and win or lose regardless, its fun
Weird, I hate the inconsistency of it. I don't think it's bad to have a stable metagame
@@martinwilches6583i really like how creative and diverse it gets, its really cool
As a person who plays a game somewhat competitively. I like diverse formats, but after learning what a diverse format can mean. I and 50/50. I like diverse formats where anything can show up, but for those who practice it is hard as you will never know what to expect or prepare for.
This format is so volatile, Poketubers need to be making weekly updates to their tier lists lmao
"and 7 days later... Where is the Ursaluna-Bloodmoon ?"
Well, a pretty annoying mon to obtain, so very tempting to gen', and thus pretty likely to have been disqualified at Liverpool... XD
Would’ve been funny if 5 days
In this meta you need to bring what you think will be the next meta. Thats why its very mind gamey
Don't bring what you think is the meta, bow the meta to your will and force the meta to conform to your ideals. :v
So true... I used to go a full Trick Room team but it became hard to counter a constant changing meta
Theres still even more unexplored/underexplored areas...enamorus comes to mind with the rise of ss-urshifu and heatran/lando i disappearing a bit
I think this is ultimately healthy? This means constant counter play is being found and created and this is exactly the kind of hotbed where great VGC moments and out there tactics happen
Hope this schedule is more sustainable for you man, keep it up
Just a shout but I’d actually really appreciate this type of video on the regular, like a monthly analysis of meta development
I'll keep it up but it'll be higher quality and less often
Everything changed when the fire nation attacked 5:43
Diverse metas are way harder to compete. Buthe best kind to watch and to let creativity flow. Nut going to tournaments not knowing if your team is outdated is tough
Regarding the content schedule update, I hope the series about buffing older gen mons continues at some point. I'd like to see what kinds of buff ideas Moxie has for Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc. mons.
I’m hoping galarian zapdos has a breakthrough soon just due to it being my favourite legendary
But having some more old format definers like palafin come back would be really fun
I think it's viable! Not "good", but I've been able to use it on ladder a bit. I've been using it to beat some of the balance mirrors with a Farigiraf / Zapdos-G /Incin/Rilla/Ogerpon-W core
I feel we're at a point when it would be better to do your own thing and disregard meta. To a point (not like use Spidops), but definitely not caring whether a certain Pokémon will be up or down.
When a format is in chaos it's great for spectators, but awful for competitors
This is probably either my favorite or second favorite reg this format. There’s so much nonsense in this pot that it feels like almost anything can be viable. Except araquanid apparently
I’ve been wanting to build a new bax team for a while! I got crazy lucky and caught a shiny humongous frigibax 🙏🏻
Amazing video! Personally, while I do like diversity in competitive formats, as a casual player, it's a bit hard to keep up with the grind, BUT it's super fun to watch.
I know its bad for the players but I wont lie i love watching fluctuating metas especially after the last meta felt a lil samy
Man I literally reach master on ladder in like 9 matches around top 6400 a week ago after not playing for like a month , started playing again yesterday and now I am like 18,000 because my team and me were not prepared for so many dark urshifus
Tis is the beauty and horror of the NatDex...or as close to a full NatDex as we'll get. There's actually so much variety that I honestly doubt we'll get a true strongest archetype like in the SuMo days. I'm both having a ton of fun but also hate this format lol. Been screwing with G-Zapdos coaching next to Ogerpon Water myself. Which honestly was working surprisingly well then I feel like Thunderous came back from outer space to shut it down 😂 Might make that Iron Hands adjustment y'all suggested 🤔
0:34 your gonna make my Mondays that much better
if waterpon rotates mostly back to firepon, could palafin make a return?
No reason to use ur over urshi really
When it can hit through protect, sure.
They gave us too many good tools this gen plus a huge variety of pokemon that become viable with tera
From a spectator standpoint, I'm extremely happy for a volatile meta. Showing off a bunch of good pokemon and never settle is great for variety.
It seems like there's a tonne of usable pokemon and everyone is putting their own spins on team building. There's always the surprise picks too; mons that are orbiting but have a break-through showing (ex. Giraffe).
It really makes me want to jump on ladder, but I'm nervous about EV building since no one posts about EV spread breakpoints.
It might be chaotic to play but boy is it fun to watch
Idk if it's good or not, but it is certainly entertaining to see so many different teams build up, crumble and be revised in such a relatively short amount of time.
Kinda diverse but flutter and urshifu is still on every team
This is so funny. This level of diversity basically shows that you can play any of like 60 pokemon and be successful if you know what you’re doing
thank you gang for the content shift!
As someone who regulary has to catch/wrestle pigs, this IS a verry fitting comparison.
I will always prefer loose metas over the rigid ones. It’s always more interesting seeing what people can cook up over “well, I’ll just run the same thing as everyone else since that all that works”
Congrats on day 2 and good luck tomorrow
I enjoyed the Iron giant reference with "wheres the Bloodmoon Mansley"
Urshifu single strike was WAITING for its time to shine
I Palapity the Palafool. Actually though, I don't know why Palafin isn't more popular. Maybe my estimation is way off but the tempo you lose from switching Palafin out from lead seems like a tempo you're giving up with other pokemon a significant portion of the time anyhow. If in say 30-50% of games, one of the pokemon gets switched out anyhow, why not switch out Palafin? I get that the other times, the pokemon stays in and makes an impact, but the price for Palafin doesn't seem so high as to make it so unplayed.
water absorb follow me ogerpon is everywhere, nullifies it completely
Probably because of just how good urshifu water is
@@mohbius2 The follow me adds a nice touch of insult to injury there, but surely pokemon have been able to play around one or two hard counters in the past?
VGC meta is so much healthier and enjoyable then singles this gen
VGC meta just be freeflowin and adaption
6v6 singles just banned their 38th thing to keep the "spirit of OU" in check
UUbers looking pretty lit though
No way did you throw an Iron Giant reference in there xD
I’ve been hating these quick regulations that don’t let a meta settle in at all. Sometimes metas would get a little bit stale, but eventually a better strategy, or a really solid counter-meta strat would show up and shake everything up. That’s how metas work. I wish TPC would slow down the breakneck pace of regulations and rulesets.
what website does he use to get this information? i cant find it.
I’m still sad there isn’t a limit on lower stat legends like chien pao and oger just cause in lower level formats they are essentially on par with box arts in their lower level formats as box arts in higher level formats with the lower stat legends now having really good ability’s on par or stronger than box arts so I just wish lower stats legends will be restricted like box arts cause the amount of chien pao spam is insane so with less legends per team people would have to think about if they wanna take such a Pokémon as one of their few legends
Super excited to hear that you're doing more scripted discussion content!
I've dropped a few vids already you should check out!
I think this is one of the most fun metas weve ever had. The only problem i have is the funny bear who hits through protect.
Protect is too much of a crutch move. :v
Idk why people complain Abt urshifu so much, water fell off and is practically forced into scarf so redirection and priority like thunder clap beat it, and urshifu dark is just slow
That iron giant joke made my day
welcome to singles and watch the terror we once had of Urshifu dark!
I hope we see a crab team next time ladder is down
When you were talking about the registeel team you mentioned him not having access to the rillaboom or incinaroar. Why couldn’t he use them?
Teamsheet error, so he lost them
I genuinely heard players say in previous formats: "It's bad when there are a few pokemon viable"
Then the exact same players jn this format: "It's bad when the options are so diverse"
Personally I like the chaos of this format 😂
In my fickled mind, a diverse meta is a good meta
Clash royale and those D@!?÷# Card Evolutions tuaght me that
If you think ting-lu will rise then you should bring a team to counter it next tournament 🤓
Wait how did Davide lose Rilla and Incin? Confused on that.
Quaquavale supremacy
Can someone explain to me why some ppl had to play with 5 or even 4 mons?
Regulation F used Acrobatics!
Interesting, Very Interesting,,,
I feel like it's more rock-paper-scissors rather than true diversity, where some teams counter certain teams but crumple to others. This might make matchup fishing a better strat than actual consist teambuliding. But that's my 2 cents. :/
I mean, a balance team meant to be okay into every team won two regionals in a row, so I don’t know about that logic.
More single-strike Urshifu means more food my my top hat Weezing 😋
Farigiraf fans are eating good in this meta.
Latias is too slow. I outsped with a gyarados with one dragon dance 💀
I wanna make a read rn:
Fluttermane and Incineroar won't last the Restricted format
Amoonguss, Iron Hands and Ting-Lu would be able to stay consistent on those teams
Fluttermane would only be viable by a Perish Trap user 😅
Flutter Mane being Ubers for its good matchup into the best legendaries and Incineroar seeing the peak of its usage in the last restricted format say what?
@@Endershock1678 I'm no hater, but you wanna bet?
Flutter will still be usable as a sun abuser
1) it doesn't take up a restricted slot
2) Koraidon or Groudon need a strong mon like Flutter who can abuse sun
@@decidueye98
Bet what? I am not remembering this comment in March.
@@Endershock1678 😂😂
At this point I think it's silly you guys don't allow cloned Pokemon or such while a bunch of you guys practice in sims with Pokemon you can make however you want
It's just so many people playing Copycat everybody think they Wolfey, Nic or Moxie
come up with your own Unique teams you are not those guys,
Then want to rage quit or get mad in go AFK
have the nerve to run Farigiraf on their team but clicking all the priority moves
and still lose😂😂😂😂😂
Are their anymore honest battles?
It is a good thing…. Every VGC players wants to get mad when the meta is over centralizing but mad when it is unpredictable…. It won’t be as bad when terastalization is gone…. Terastalization is fun but it is an anti competitive mechanic…
this such a hot take 😂
I loved this format a month ago and now I hate it 💀
And yes, I did see your gouging fire video
video starts at 0:00
I still don't like that urshifu exists.
Fuck the meta. Just cram good stuff
pls stick to whatever schedule works for your shawty
Diverse? Hah
*Changes to restricted format in march*
What, you don’t like seeing CALYREX and CALYREX and CALYREX and CALYREX and Zacian and CALYREX
Get in losers, we're going to PkHex.
Sooo are all your videos from now on going to include other people commentating too? Idk if illbe able to continue watching your content
No, I just like to showcase my friends and shout them out on occasion
First
