No PS on my 1JZ TT swapped SC300. I was pleasantly surprised to see my 110lb GF handle it with ease.
Just remember the tyres are going to get taller by a fair bit especially at 160mph+

No deadline is the way to go, it gives you a chance to build it right and not have to make shortcuts to just meet a date.

I put shafts through things to lock them together too, using a high temperature bonding method with an inert gas present

Back in the "good old days" when I had my VH commodore, the power rack started pissing oil everywhere, as they do, and my fix was the manual rack from my wrecked VB 😂😂 worked perfectly with that cast iron V8 between the rails

Not sure the rack mods really will save you much weight…but certainly simpler. Love the deep dives you guys do into this….always learning with Skid Factory!
It saves a lot of lines and a pump. And it completely removes the possibility of it puking hydraulic fluid onto the road while they're unleashing 1500 horsepower on full slicks.

And you totally can powder coat a car body, ive seen a couple cars with the chassis coated before. Doesnt really make much sense to do though, powder coat is better than paint for hiding rough surfaces and wont scratch as easily but it costs more, you need the equipment to handle a whole car and its way thicker (3-6mm vs like 1-2mm for paint) and can be pretty heavy

Man Kevin is looking good !If you go with a dry sump set up you can avoid oil starvation during deceleration after the finish line. It will save you changing main and rod bearings so often .

Good idea to use a dry sump with the JZ platform. I’ve seen some videos of JZs struggling with oil supply during decent G forces, both drag and drift, even a baffled sump didn’t eliminate the problem.

i would suggest painting the engine bay, as primer can absorb oil and grease, pain in the butt to paint over. whack on some gloss black whilst its masked up, then it's easy to wipe down and redo or blend in.
