Honestly when travelling you should act as if you are not safe anytime. I do that here in my current country of residence Even if you go to countries like Japan, Singapore or UAE. People attempted to scam me in Singapore and UAE.

As an Indian , one thing i have learned crossing roads is that , we need the guts to walk through the traffic , cause trust me the traffic ain't stopping , the traffic in some places is 24/7 and you can walk in front of cars but be aware of the old red buses cause those guys don't stop for anybody

Once i was eating at an indian restaurant and when i ate a pepper it was SO spicy i ran 12MPH towards the nearest source of water to drink (a water tap) and drank it like it was Niagara falls. Surprisingly the spiciness didn’t spread

I’m from there and I went during monsoon season. I went for a wedding and weddings are INSANELY fun but the monsoon chaos is definitely different than other seasons. Monsoon season doesn’t have sun shut the spring time does and I recommend going in the spring. I went to Mumbai as I’m gudrati and Punjabi. Amritsar although can be tough for foreigners as it’s pretty dirty and the lifestyle can shock you. Overall India is amazing and the food is amazing and the service for hotels is outstanding. I recommend going and go to Rajistan. Specifically Jaipur which is where all the ancient wealth of India remains. It’s full of huge temples and houses and building of rich marble and jewels and it’s like another world.

I’m from there and I went during monsoon season. I went for a wedding and weddings are INSANELY fun but the monsoon chaos is definitely different than other seasons. Monsoon season doesn’t have sun shut the spring time does and I recommend going in the spring. I went to Mumbai as I’m gudrati and Punjabi. Amritsar although can be tough for foreigners as it’s pretty dirty and the lifestyle can shock you. Overall India is amazing and the food is amazing and the service for hotels is outstanding. I recommend going and go to Rajistan. Specifically Jaipur which is where all the ancient wealth of India remains. It’s full of huge temples and houses and building of rich marble and jewels and it’s like another world.

I've been in India many times. I love it! Kind people, beautiful country... Yes. It's really safe. Me and my brother always went around alone, even when we were both under 5 y/o.

But scams, especially tourist scams, are quite common. Be careful with money, change and so on. And like everywhere, pickpockets exist.
