    As someone who shoots a lot of corporate & documentary work, I get so many requests from clients to "make the background blurrier" even when I'm at f1.8 on a full frame sensor. I don't know what I'd say to those clients if I had a m4/3 camera. If you want a full frame f1.8 look on a m4/3 sensor, you'd have to shoot on a f0.95 lens, which is difficult to find versus an f1.8 lens on full frame.

  • @JeffersonDonald
    @JeffersonDonald Před 2 měsíci +2

    The M4/3 sensor is larger than the S16mm or 16mm film sensors, which filmmakers still use. Use the right tool for the story you want to tell.

      @@GrayGhostDog1 I don't think I said it was. I literally said the blackmagic 6k was my fav and that's a super 35. My favorite camera to use is an arri mini. so i'm not sure where yall got that I said full frame was the say all be all. But I still wouldn't go Micro four thirds.

    Wait till the FF version of the GH7, S1H Mark II, will have an open gate uncropped FF 120P Prores Raw internal and Arri LogC.

  • @SystemParanoia
    @SystemParanoia Před 2 měsíci +3

    Isn't the Arri a crop sensor too? so a 56mm on that is an 84/85 anyway
    And running around with a FF would mean adjusting again too.

    • @TheMillennialJoe
      @TheMillennialJoe Před 2 měsíci +4

      The Arri Alexa Mini has around an APSC sized sensor, and A LOT of Hollywood films are shot on it... So it always makes me laugh when CZcamsrs feel they need Full Frame lol

    • @randomhuman9706

      @@TheMillennialJoe Hollywood films have the flexibility to use any lenses they want down to T1.2, with everything around it also perfected (production design, lighting, location, blocking, etc).
      For lower budget commercial/documentary/corporate shooters, it's nice to have a sensor that doesn't REQUIRE you to have an f1.2 or f1.4 lens just to get a shallow depth of field out of it. Especially when comparing to a Panasonic GH camera where the crop is even more extreme than APSC.
      You can definitely get great footage out of a GH7, but as a corporate & documentary shooter, having a 24-70 f2.8 on full frame is far more convenient than having to carry 3-4 prime lenses on a GH7 to get an equivalent look. And no I don't wanna use a metabones speed booster which forces me to buy 10-15 year old dying EF lenses and sacrifice some autofocus performance.

      @@TheMillennialJoeI said I love blackmagic which is a super 35. I don’t mind a crop sensor but micro 4/3 is completely different than a super 35. I’m not a full frame person. I have multiple cameras and use multiple cameras

    I can tell you how to try if that ARRI thing is just a gimmick or not. Record a footage with VLOG then the same shot with ARRI LOG on GH7. Then open Davinci and use color space transform. Convert VLOG to ARRI LOGc and then apply ARRI LUT. On the GH7 ARRI LOG just apply arri lut and see if there is a difference. It will be an interesting test. Regards from Bulgaria!

    I used to match the Canon 5DMK2 w/ the Arri.. I used to match the 5D w/ RED, all kinds.. It all depends on WHO is coloring, and their process. Somebody talented enough, can get it dialed in and match. And this was waaaaay back in the day.. Now ?! Tuh ! Way easier. Would I shoot a GH7 and an Arri together ? Nah.. But I'm sure people will get close enough.
