    The question is are you a real videographer knowing lightning and creativity? Then you don’t care of sensorsize. Seems that CZcams created a generation of videographers more bothered with sensorsize then skills and creativity.

    • @rizzo-films

      Sensor size could matter depending on the project. Cinematographers consider this in pre-production all the time. That's why the are different sensor sizes. But to your point, one should consider the reasons for sensor choice instead of saying one is better than the other. They're all useful in different ways. At work I use a gh5 but have been using my fx3 more lately because of its low light performance and it's easier to get shallow DOF and a wider dynamic range. With the GH5, even with fast lenses and a speed booster, I find myself spending more time trying to get the look that full frame can achieve right away. And it's not because of CZcams, it's a specific look I'm trying to achieve for our clients' videos.

      @@rizzo-films yes, I agree with you that sensor size depends on user case and also costs of lenses and bodies, that need to take into account. The FX3 is a €4500 camera where GH7 is €2200, so twice the price. The FX3 is an excellent in low light situation.

      Give an amateur videographer the Alexa 65 and then give Roger Deakins an outdated GH4. Let them both film a movie. Who has the better shot at winning an award pertaining to cinematography? Exactly my point, I have multiple size sensors and sure the FF sensor achieve a different “look” to the image, and it should be considered in the creative process, but no as a necessity per say, this current generation don’t care about lighting apparently, or the right lens, they care about sensor size, ISO performance and if it has good autofocus, people, a camera WONT SOLVE the lack of skill and talent you have …
      I’ve gotten SO MANY comments on my day to day work about why am I STILL using my M4/3 GH6 in 2024 if I have the Lumix S5II or my A7IV, or my Komodo, which all have bigger sensors, and I’m like “yeah … so? You see a problem with the image ? No right? Bokeh, IQ, DR all fantastic, so what’s the issue ?”
      And for SOME REASON people believe that M4/3 is an entry level system before “jumping” to FF…

      that may be true for "old pros" but I choose APSC as a community manager and it's more than enough for me, and now, am sure m4/3 would be enough for me too. That's really appealling to them and it already where a godd protion of the market is heading.
      In fact, one decisive feature for me, to choose APSC, was having good jpegs SOOC.
      And even then, I also do more traditionnal jobs (parties, concerts, baptisms and other events) where APSC where just fine and I think m4/3 would be too.

    I follow this podcast and sure you guys know your stuff but I feel you don’t get M4/3, I’m a FF user (Sony and Lumix) I got my REDs too, and M4/3 user for many years now and I don’t get why people always say “oh yeah but it’s M4/3 “ why ? Do you feel limited by the sensor ? It has better specs in general than FF cameras.
    It has better lowlight performance than the FX30 I had, and YOU can get great Bokeh form it, I really don’t understand how “professionals” complain about a smaller camera sensor and praise stuff like the iPhone 15 video quality, I have the GH6 and getting a GH7 for multiple camera setup alongside my Komodo.
    I feel, respectfully that people should stop praising FF like it’s the best thing because it’s not, try the damn thing… then if you feel you’re too good for that camera, talk crap about it, and for real state, having a M4/3 sensor is advantageous because you have a wider focal btw…

      If you have a studio setup and access to lights and a controlled environment images on the M43 will be sharper than FF when using the same lens. The center of any lens almost always produces better results than the outer or corner areas. M43 mostly utilizes the light passing through the center of the lens through most of its frame capture. This is why old Soviet lenses that look soft on FF produce usable images in a M43 sensor

      There are different types of projects and prosuction sizes. Most people relying on hybrid cameras do a lot of "run and gun" shoots, documentaries where you need to move quickly or fit into crowded / cramped spaces, wedding videographers, etc. Or they're on a smaller budget, don't have a crew to help them set and reset lights in time to stay on schedule while changing locations, just as examples. At work, we have some shoots in the studio or I'm able to bring lights to interview shoots, so I use a GH5. I can bring enough light for it. Super 35 is bad because I'll never make that argument. Is it technically worse? Yes, but is it bad absolutely not? However you're wrong. There are multiple cases where it is literally. Just camera and Mike cartel land is one of the best documentaries ever made. A lot of the time. It was just camera and mic Still a beautiful picture shot on the fs. Seven, which is a super thirty five sensor and they were shooting people of Whiter complexions and dark complexions You don't always need to artificially light an image to make it look. Both dudes are tripping about Lumix and trying to talk up the Gh7 as if it's on the C400 level. It's not even close guys. Either say the GH7 is a useless M4/3 sensor or go talk to Gerald about being honest.

    • @contentm3893
      @contentm3893 Před 2 měsíci

      @mipmipmipmipmip What about Geralds review? He's kissing Lumix ass right now. All he talks about is features and not image quality. It's sad because he said he was honest with his reviews. Now he does the exact thing that he called other out for. That is being influenced and not giving an unbiased review. No way you can review the Gh7 next to today's cameras and not talk about image quality and dynamic range. It's always about the price and that it's M4/3 and a starter cameras with great features. More features than any other camera.
