      Bought High n Dry in '81 when it came out. Already familiar with Def Leppard by then because a friend had All Through The Night and brought it to school one day, towards the end of my senior year.
      Got rid of all my LP's long ago, so it's great to be able to come here and hear all these songs again. 🤘👍

      Ain't that a shame, a song in the kiddie music world having the same title as one from Def Leppard's greatest era and what might be the baddest jam they ever wrote.
      Post Script;
      The song from the band Sum 41, In Too Deep, which is actually a good song which is surprising given that it's from an era long past the greatest era of music, in their official video for it right at about 1:34 if you freeze it it's the cover of this album, there's absolutely no way it's a coincidence, it has to be a nod to this album.
      Also, the album cover for this album, High n Dry, was done by an agency called Hipgnosis that did nothing but album covers starting in 1968, they did pretty much every one of Pink Floyd's album covers except for The Wall which of course was done by the art illustrator who conceptualized everything for the intended movie, they stopped doing album covers and disbanded not too long after this because of them feeling like they'd artistically run their course combined with the seismic shift in music at this point going from Rock to New Wave and it being something they just didn't feel like they connected with, if you look at the run of album covers they did High n Dry, which I think was their 2nd to last, was the last really great one they'd done.
      There's a fantastic documentary about Hipgnosis on Netflix called Squaring The Circle that I highly recommend, for years I've been telling younger people how they missed out on the golden age of album cover art, in 1983 when Compact Disc's started to become the dominant form of music packaging album covers went from giant surfaces that were perfect for art to these little surfaces that bands and the record companies weren't going to pay $100,000 for art work on, just look at the difference between High n Dry and Def Leppard's next album Pyromania, it looks like a cartoon compared to the cover of High n Dry, and during that golden age of album covers it was Hipgnosis that made what some consider to be the greatest album covers of all time with everyone else trying to keep up.

      Eddie The Head It's the truth. It's an overproduced piece of trash with a extremely dated synth drum sound and cheesy overlayered vocals. This band was one foot in the grave when they fired Pete Willis and Rick Allen's accident was the final nail in the coffin. You can't play electric drums with one arm in a rock band. That may be insensitive to say, but it's the truth.

Def Leppard is still going strong today selling out arenas, but where is 90s grunge today? Dead in an urn and buried in the ground where it belongs. 70s & 80s rock n roll lasted much longer because it had the talent, the skill, the melody, and the charisma, which the 90s all lacked.

      That is an interesting opinion.
      While earlier leppard had a more metallic edge The melodic structure was always there and a natural evolution. The idea that Leppard would have somehow kept the metal sound Given speculation that Pete had somehow remained is just Wishful thinking and doesn't stand up to scrutiny given the fact that one of the few bands that actually pursued a metal direction at the time
      Thin Lizzy with "thunder and lightning " are on record as telling Lepparrd that they couldn't compete with Pyromania and Lynott admitted it was a factor in folding the band.
      A little unfairly I thought as hard drug use was obviously a factor as well but the point remains pertinent.
