Who's here in 2024? Another great classic 💯
Me
Huzzah!
Me 😃
Just discovered def leppard in 2024
indeed!!!
Can't understand why Rick is never mentioned when talking about rocks
greatest drummers, for Gods sake the guy can drum with one hand.
Omg ABSOLUTELY AGREE... you know he 100% should be in the hall of fame for drummers, wanna hlp me do a petition to try get him there
Yea, no need to form a petition for these guys, they have a lock on it.
Shame on them for not mentioning him he continued to play despite having one arm he should get major kudos for that.
He's so great for continuing to play with one hand. It's unbelievable.
Is that Portuguese currency chap??!!!
We will be seeing Def Leppard in July 2024 in Orlando Florida
When you drummer loses an arm and you don't bail on him, but instead make kick ass music with him, you are legend.
Rick Allen one of the greatest drummers ever.😀😀😀😀
One of the best humans ever. Watch interviews with him , such a humble and great person.
And beats the pants right off the rest of the bands out there.
Band of PERSERVERACE FOR SURE!
@8SIX9Design not just the drummer.
THE ENTIRE BAND
Absolutely. I'm still rocking these guys in 2024
it's only taken me 31 years but this afternoon I finally learnt to play this song all the way through including the solo. It was my favourite song since 1987 from the age of 13. I bought my guitar in 1989.
Do you do the dive bomb harmonic at the end of the solo? love that!
Yes brother fuckin yes never stop
Is the tuning weird lol
Well done
Mate
Following in your footsteps with my Les Paul. May take just as long!
Still listening in 2020 Def Leppard forever!! I love how they never gave up on their drummer
All their songs are great to sing along to
Me too!
same, best band ever!
If you like rock it'd be a travesty to not like Def Leppard
Yes absolutely ! Black girls can rock out too!
I just can't get enough of this track, it makes me feel good inside. it's good for the soul.
Once you get that feeling in your blood life is good
@@joeguzek7299As the pre chorus says I gotta feel it in my blood.
Amen brother!
100% Agreed! 👍
It's very good track, one of the best💯🥰
This was officially Rick's first music video with one arm. He nailed it.
Its amazing at the human spirit and the will not only to live but thrive. I don't think the word defeat is in his vocabulary
Ouch. I hope he'll be okay....
@@RiqiHarawira *hand
@@geraldhoskins2933 But he has to use da feet...
No women was
The Album "Hysteria" will never get old!!!!🤘
So true 👍
Best album in my opinion
ur so ryt
Amen to that 😁💖
💖😺
Always had a lot of respect for the group for not bailing on the drummer when he lost his arm.
jackycook64 the dude still jams harder than most drummers lol
Rick Allen is a hero, and his friends are men, didn't leave him to look for other drummer!
TAC 5 RECON, Michelle Alex - do either of you remember how they came up with the name Def Leppard? I was trying to remember but can't.
jackycook64 "People always ask me how we got the name Def Leppard. Actually, it came from a poster I had made which depicted a rather strange-looking jungle cat with a hearing horn at his ear. I called him the deaf leopard. The guys in the band loved the poster, and after a bit of work, we decided to call ourselves Def Leppard. The name is funny, but it has strength."
Adrian Buczynski I love it! Def Leppard has always been my favorite band. In fact I have found it to be great music to rehab to after surgery :-)
For a while in the late 1980ies and early 1990ies, DF was the best rock band with the coolest songs. Great to see they are still around and doing great.
The song that got me into Def Leppard.
Also, Rick Allen is one of the very best drummers. One arm, and he doesn't miss a beat. Love Def Leppard!
Can you imagine this today when they don't even use human musicians? I mean here we have a guy who loses an arm and then decides to learn and use whatever technology means necessary to allow him to play on the record. His love of music and desire to carry on means more than any 100 fraudulent Grammy winners of today
Yes! He’s my favourite drummer ever and always will be! I love Def Leppard as well!
probably would have never ended up with this album. took them 3 years to make and it shows in every song. back to back bangers !
He's good one arm or two! You either have talent or you don't! Just saying 😌
definitely top 10 one armed drummers
The first 15 seconds of the song is better than most music today. Tbh
You got that right :)
I love Jazz, Rock, Adult Contemporary, Pop.....I'm 59 yrs old and it's the best song intro I've ever heard that moves me like that intro does..."ANIMAL"......
Totally agree
Fuck yeah dude
Try all. The first time I heard this song I got goose bumps
This music brings back such great memories!
Those of us who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s were so lucky to have had such great music.
Underrated Def Leppard song
The dude only has one arm and still rockin that shit.... yayyyy
Galimir Nund
Galimir Nund ikr
The story is that he lost control of his car, his seat belt became undone and dismembered it and got thrown out the sun roof of the car.
@@ireneparkin3360 Wow!!? 💔😢...incredible + talented musician! 🤘🏽💜
early programmable Simmons electrics 💪👹🎼👍
What a band....every time I hear them...I am instantly transported to the mid 80's....nostalgic !!
Absolutely, Ramesh. Same feeling here as well, my friend. :)
It's actually more closer to the late 80's, 1987 -1988 to be exact.
OVI-Wan Kenobi still the 80s dumbo
You obviously realize that Hysteria came out in the later 80s, but have you forgotten that Def Leppard had an album out before that? That was "Pyromania", and the album was released in 1983.
Not to mention, Ramesh simply said "...every time I hear THEM..." (emphasis mine) *not* "...every time I hear THIS SONG" and therein lies all the difference.
k8fearsnoart Then he would have been better off reserving that particular comment for a different Def Leppard video such as Photograph or Foolin', rather than Animal.
There I lay,in a deep, deep coma.Bleeding on my brain, doctors were going to turn me off.My parents played and played this song beside my bed.Day n night until my eyes opened at long last.
My eyes,my ears,My Brain woke up to this song,oh my god.Def Leppard, your music helped to give me my life.Thanking you so,so much.God Bless all of Def Leppard.
That’s an amazing story, you have great parents
Amazing ❤hope you still well x 🙏🏻
Amazing story hope you are doing well
God Bless you and Steve 🎸 , this Band !!🙏❤️
Praise the Lord!!
The eighties is the best music era, no doubt. This is a legend of rock music.
This cassette lived in my Walkman.
and mine
Mine too lol
I wore out two cassettes in high school. I finally had to get it on CD.
Jonathan Griffin :)respect✌
Yep!
There was something magical about Def Leppard’s Pyromania and Hysteria albums.....
So true.
Very true
Yes totally agree 👍
Mutt Lang produced awesome albums including Bryan Adam's albums
Mutt is of Credit to this but most incredible thing every single song produced was so radio friendly and hit after hit prevailed. Making them a top 50 rock band or 20 whichever the info your reading. Popular without question 👍
Thank you Def Leppard for the best music ever. Great memories back in the 80's rockin with you guys, keeps me young at heart. Nothing but love to all of you, thanks again.
Sheffield's finest. One of the eighties great rock bands and a total masterpiece of a song.
This song is an absolutely masterpiece! One of the greatest rock bands in the world!
THE best rock group in the world..........
You are missing acdc and van Halen.
Hysteria is an absolute classic. Not one bad song on it.
My favorite bands are Guns N Roses and Def Leppard!
This song is for sure lol.
A drummer with one arm playing the drums with authority. What a talented individual. I miss the talent of the 80s music generation. Viva La 80s!
Miss 80s
70s
Yes, he's got more tallent in one arm than most modern artists bodies now a days.
Vivan los 80s por siempre. 80s forever and ever my friend.
he plays better than most drummers with both arms. Rick Allen is a legend and should be recognised for sheer bloody mindedness for getting back to the pinnacle and drumming to one of Def Leppards finest songs.
Genius. Still sounds fresh today
This band not only has amazing harmonies and catchy songs but also had friendship...they all stayed together through their ups and downs...now that is legendary if you asked me ...
It sucks that they lost a man. Yes they replaced him, but they are truly good to and for each other and the loss means another good person missing from this dark world.
Som, topppp
I love their songs that my school songs back when I went to school
Loved this song back when I was 14. Now I'm almost 42. Wow how time flies!
+Citizen Observer Ha ha ha old man....I'm only 41. :P
+Citizen Observer You and me also. Great music is timeless.

+Citizen Observer I'm only 14 and I'm a big fan! I've loved this song since i was 5 haha
ay I'm 14 and I just heard this song for the first time. and it was fuckin amazing I'm listening to it again
One of the absolute greatest rock bands of all time..Love Def Leppard.
Never gets old. Like a fine wine. Gets better with time. Def Leopard rock always!!
2016 and I don't give a fuck - Def Leppard still fucking rock and this song takes me so waay back in time in my life. No shame and I don't give a damn and I'm a Heavy Metal Head who has a major soft spot for 80's rock esp. Warrant, Ratt and Def Leppard.
+Hari Menon Me to :)
+Hari Menon I'm going through another Warrant phase at the moment, Dog eat Dog particularly, so overlooked! It's brilliant. I'm also indoctrinating my guitar students by teaching them the riffs ;)
+Dave Locke Oh that is so awesome, Dave. Dog Eat Dog is sorely underrated, utterly brilliant and will be perpetually immortal for those of us who totally get it and love it.
Teach them well, my friend so they carry the music we all love onto their generation and onward. Esp April 2021, Bridges are burning, Bitter pill, Quicksand, etc.
More power to you Dave :)
+Hari Menon Thanks :) I will do indeed. I was teaching Quicksand today :) I'll move through the others over the next weeks :) :)
agreed, rock on!
RIP Steve Clark (April 23, 1960 - January 8, 1991), aged 30
You will always be remembered as a legend.
One of the greats in the history of rock and roll.
How’d he die?
@@jae-sang6077 Respiratory failure caused by a lethal alcohol and prescription drug overdose.
@@jackspry9736 that’s terrible 😞
@@jae-sang6077Alcohol addiction. He was only 30.
I was born in 1980, but loved Def Leppard even if i was a kid when they were in the charts.
My 16 year old cousin used to babysit me when I was four, he played the whole Hysteria album for hours, he says I went crazy with this song 🤣 almost 40 years later he still sometimes babysit my kids and he plays the album and they go nuts, it feels like it’s 1987 all over again.
Was lucky to have seen them for the Hysteria tour with Steve Clark playing
So cool!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Lucky buggar
He got style!!!!😎🎵🎶💜
Classic Def Leppard. A Great rock group.
That it is!
My favorite band ❤️
Def Leppard is an all time favourite like if agree
The first time i heard this it was love at first note.
What a band. ❤
Def Leppard Legendary Band !. The voice of Elliot and the swaggering resiliency of all the group is epic. Love the integration of the band after all the accidents and problems. Legendary !!
My parents met them before I was born. As the story goes, they went to one if their concerts and upon going back to their hotel, Def Leppard is at the bar if their hotel and my mom goes crazy. She had a little too much to drink. She was screaming saying it was "it was first time!!!!" And the lead singer puts his arm around my mom and says "did you hear that mates? She lost her virginity at our show" and my mom "no that's not what I meant" while fan girling. They got to meet the band and took pictures and she still has them. And I grew up listening to these guys. Legendary band.
Great story, man!! I love shit like that!! ^_^
Hybrid Spektar cool story brother 🤟
Love it bro
That sounds like a wicked time and memory for your mum bro! awesome, love it !!
Hybrid Spektar that’s a cool story. My aunt partied with Van Halen and Journey in a hotel room. Roth threw a tambourine and broke my aunts friends nose so he invited them to party. There’s a lot to tell.
No one comes close to replicating that Def Leppard sound
A lot of this magic had to do with Mutt Lange....he was/is a musical genius. He did the same thing for so many artists and groups. He was responsible for making them gold!
I even think they sound different post-Steve Clark. Vivian can’t quite recreate the magic sound that Steve Clark produced and is very noticeable on songs such as Animal, Too Late for Love, Gods of War, Die Hard The Hunter etc. They are more like cover versions,
This song would be a hit today....
It was a hit back then.
Still Is a hit ❤️🔥✌️
My boyfriend who passed from liver cancer loved this group and so did i.❤❤
Sorry for your loss. I hope you will heal from your terrible heartache from losing your boyfriend 😢
By sticking with the drummer DEF gained a unique rolling intense drum that nobody ELSE HAS! Their reward was incredible
Def Leppard Forever
One of the best songs of all time. That is all
Had the greatest pleasure of seeing these guys at the NEC Birmingham 1988 Hysteria tour. One my best ever memories. 61 years old and still love listening to them 😊
Remember it well, great concert, they were the days for sure.
A wild ride, over stony ground
Such a lust for life
The circus comes to town
We are the hungry ones, on a lightning raid
Just like a river runs
Like a fire needs flame, oh
I burn for you
I gotta feel it in my blood, whoa oh
I need your touch
Don't need your love, whoa oh
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal)
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal)
Cry wolf, given mouth-to-mouth
Like a movin heartbeat, in the witching hour
I'm runnin' with the wind
A shadow in the dust
And like the drivin rain, yeah
Like the restless rust
I never sleep
I gotta feel it in my blood, whoa oh
I need your touch
Don't need your love, whoa oh
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal)
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal) huh
Cry wolf, baby, cry tough
Gonna hunt you like an, an, an, an, an animal
Gonna take your love and run
I gotta feel it in my blood, whoa oh
I need your touch
Don't need your love, whoa oh
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal)
(And I want, and I need)
(And I lust, animal)
(And I want) and I want
(And I need) and I need
(And I lust) and I lust
(Animal) animal
(And I want) tame me
(And I need) tie me
(And I lust) make me
(Animal) your animal
(And I want) show me
(And I need) stroke me
(And I lust) let me be
(Animal) your animal
(And I want) I want
(And I need) ooh, ooh, ooh
(And I lust) animal
(Animal)
Talk about misheard lyrics, all these years I thought he was saying "Blow me" at the end.

Thanks love this song ❤ 🎵
Thanks for posting!😄👍
Can not get enough of my oldies specially def leppard.
Brianna Shine Whitford With ya there!
Agreed the music these days r fuckin shit .
+Brianna Shine Whitford Oldies? I remember all of this growing up. It's definitely not an oldies song to me!
This is most definitely NOT oldies. That is an actual genre, and includes bullshit songs like "Twist and Shout" and "Big Girls Don't Cry".
Brianna Shine Whitford ain't nothing better than the 80's saw Def Leppard live at Blossom Music Center in Ohio, hard to beat
Better music back then when music was music
So true 👍
This song brings you back to the good ole days- actually all of Def Leppard's music does. You guys are a special band! Thank you for all the good music over the years.

Def Leppard one of the Greatest 80’s Rock Bands ever!!🤘🤘🤘
True!👏❤️🌐🌹
Oh yeah! 🎶 😃🤟
Yes they are!!!!!!!
Still are. Seen them recently and they still freaking ROCK ❤
I always had a great admiration for the drummer for his tenacity and it shows that it is a great example of overcoming, because despite having lost one of his arms, continue doing what you love so much, the music. Shortly, for all of the obstacles, there is no limits.
Rick Allen is his name.
He is the greatest one-armed drummer in the universe.
Also, good on his friends in the band for supporting him and keeping faith with him. Would have been easy for them to look for a replacement, that they didn't says a lot of positive things about them all.
I've been beating off with my right arm only since forever.
fuck this world...back to the 80s!
He'll Yeah. Time Machine.
SixSentSoldiers hopefully a time machine will be a reality soon... I'm sick of shitty music and shitty everything. the 2010s suck.
s-h-(i)-t Yeeeeeeaaaaahh, wooo hoooo!! I was a "teeny bopper" in the 80s and those were the best times to be alive ($1 a f-ing gallon of gas, lmao), NOT like today!!
***** so u think imagine dragons and the black keys are good rock? lol. no.
taylor jordan I don't even consider those bands of today to be rock. They're just modern day pretentious hipster posers. Ever since the start of 'modern rock' in the 90's, music has been nothing but pure shit. The 80's was the very last decade of great music, everything afterwards is shit.
Hysteria Album, so many great hits. Legendary Band. Legendary Album.
Good memories .... listening this track in my little fiat uno with my open window to benefit the pedestrians I passed on the road ..... It was the end of the 80's , a wonderful era !
This song puts me in a euphoric nostaligic trance.
Only 2021 and still rocking real rock music!!!❤❤❤
I will be seeing them on July 13th, 2024 in Atlanta ❤This song was new when I was in high school and I’m 56 now. 🎶
If you are here in 2024 consider yourself a legend
🤟
Never left. Been listening to this kind of music since I was born. That was '83, so most of the time that this music has existed, and if I remember correctly, this song came out in '87, but I could be off a little bit. Ratt, Cinderella, poison, twisted sister, basically ac/DC to ZZ top and most everything rock related in between.
