  • The present simple tense - English grammar lesson.
Learn how to make simple sentences in English with the present simple tense (sometimes called the simple present tense).
We look at affirmative sentences in the present tense.
Learn how to use the S at the end of verbs in the third person.
We learn how to create negative sentences in the present simple tense using DON'T and DOESN'T.
We also show the exceptions when DON'T and DOESN'T are not used in negative sentences.
We look at the difference between DON'T and DOESN'T with example sentences and the reason why we remove the S at the end of the verbs in negative sentences.
Next we look at how to make questions in the present simple tense using DO and DOES.
We look at the difference between DO and DOES and the reason why we remove the S at the end of the verbs in questions.
We end this English grammar lesson with a summary chart of the present simple tense (includes the structure for affirmative and negative sentences as well as for making questions).
