The first time I dyed my hair I was trying to find out which color would look the best faded, because I knew I wasn't gonna maintain the original color very well... The color the dye fades to is the most important, because that's the color your hair will be the longest if you're lazy like me. :)

Semi permanent only lasts upto 28 washes anyway so it did its job
True true, I just like to know how the color fades bc that's how it's going to look the majority of the time :)
If you want it to be a true purple and stay true purple longer, you need to have a lighter base, as in you need to bleach your hair again to a level 10. Using cold or cool water to wash and a sulfate free shampoo, as well as washing much less frequently, will help prolong the life of the color.
And you can use brads dye as a conditioning to treatment and touch up your color! GDY is the same way.

It would not have faded to orange had she bleached it more, same goes for blondes that pull 'green' out of certain colors....

@@ewishhh I'm not sure what you mean? If the hair isn't lightened enough it will be orange, Brassy or bright yellow. And the purple will either not take, become muddy looking, or fade right away to the same color it was initially. Toners are meant to be used on equal level or lighter shades.
Brads color shampoo polychrome works to extend it. I’ve had my super red and it’s lasted for about 2 1/2 months. Definitely helps to not use hot water also.
Cold water, Redken color extend magnetics sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, along with Keracolor color+clenditionor!!! I wash my hair 1-2 times a week. My hair has been purple for a year now and I've only redyed it once.

It looks cute! I really like how it’s the underneath sections instead of your entire head purple.
I have purple hair, dyed with semi-permenant dye and I get 6-8 weeks out of it, with it being very vibrant (I use Arctic Fox, which same as Mondo's formula, has pink undertones - that's why your hair faded from Magenta to pink ... mine does the same, but stays much more vibrant). However, I only wash my hair twice a week, in warm water (shower daily, but only wash hair 2 times/wk) ... I find cool/warm water doesn't make a huge difference ... but steaming hot water does ... and if you wash it EVERYDAY it will definitely lose its vibrancy fast! And that goes for any semi. I do swear by arctic fox, however ... but I think Brad's formula isn't THAT different - both use vegan ingredients and have no harsh chemicals added. Semi dyes just "stain" ... some better than others. Purple Rain by Arctic Fox is without a doubt the best on the market, but it pricey if you wash your hair everyday and need to do it every 2 weeks to keep the vibrancy.

@@trisarahtopsco that's good :) Also, if you want more of a purple fade out, instead of the purple-to-magenta to-pink, I suggest getting a semi purple with blue undertones, instead of pink undertones.

I said the same thing! The fade looks good too and she still had so much. I loved it.
You can also get color depositing shampoo to help upkeep the color. Like a deep purple shampoo would help. I have blue hair so I use blue shampoo and it helps keep it vibrant.
Washing your hair every day or even every other day isn't a fair shake on the hair dye considering you shouldn't wash your hair that often anyway.

came out beautiful on you and it did last a good amount of time, if you use shampoo's with some color in them every two weeks or so it will last much longer, that's what i do with my red color. i am definitely wanting to try xmondo color!!!

purple dyes typically fade out of hair quicker than other colours because it has larger molecules, same with red dyes, so they come out of the hair faster than like blues and greens! I had red hair for 7 months and then purple for 6mos and now I have vivid green hair that I thankfully dont.have as much upkeep on as I did purple and red 😂
Pinks and reds last until my hair grows out. I have fine, thin hair and an oily scalp, I shower with gentle shampoo in lukewarm water, and don't overwash my hair. It seriously lasts 2-3 years on me. But purple fades in a couple of months on me.
I don't think this is completely true? Red stains more and is really hard to get out.. blue and purple are mostly gone in a month.. i've never met anyone who got red hairdye that didn't stained their hair.. or is it just me? 😂
Blue & purple seems to work for me, the blue undertones last much longer & my hair is fading to lavender instead of pink. Her hair is GOLDEN BLONDE & tilts red so she faded to red tones & turned orange (not the product's fault) AND she washed OFTEN with HOT WATER. Asian hair has lots of red to get past if people want to play with these colors her hair is super shiny & healthy, that's what amazes me (!)
This seems to be a common issue with xmondo dye. It is disappointing considering the cost
Don't feel bad about sacrificing the mat. I flicked the purple dye onto the wall, above the doorframe while I was combing it through. How, I have no idea. But there's a stain that will remain until I paint the bathroom. I like the faded colors, too.
I put left over colour in my conditioner ( not a huge amount ) and when I condition it refreshes the colour a bit
I was conditioner out in cold.
I also use conditioner and shampoo for coloured hair

Looks gorgeous, you did a great job....this kind of color is thick & needs to be combed thru the hair, it's not 'runny' like Adore & Arctic Fox. It seems that purple & blue tomes must be maintained with 'tint deposit' shampoo & conditioner, then it stays vibrant much longer. The more blue toned purples look better on 'ashy' (more gray skin) toned people, magenta (or Amethyst) is better for your complexion....PS: the CONDITION of your hair (shiny rather than dry & stiff) is amazing & must be considered....

Hot water opens the cuticles in your hair making any color especially the lighter colors fade faster. To help keep frizzy hair at bay, color treated hair, or protect damaged hair, always rinse your conditioner out with cool to cold water.
I don’t know anyone who needs to (or should) wash their hair every day. Your hair needs those natural oils. Washing every day is just not good for your hair - especially in hot water. You didn’t really give this a fair and accurate review.
If you have overactive sebaceous glands due to genetics and hormones you may have to wash every day. Also the oil can harbor bacteria and lead to acne on face and scalp. It’s a thing.

IDK why but i think that the color fade to fast my blue green last for months without refreshing it and is more intense then directions and the prize and the size is better too!!!!😂😍
Blue and green are some of the easiest colors to keep in. That's why. They're also the hardest to get out. Especially green.

Missing a bit of information with this. How often did you shampoo? Hot or cold water? What shampoo system did you use? All of this matters when finding out the longevity of a fashion color dye job.

I washed my hair every other day in hot water (which i mention multiple times). im not completely sure what you mean by shampoo system tho.

I was wondering all the same things! Also, for coloured hair, you should use sulfate and salt free shampoo, and try to avoid hot water.
I used the super blue. Washed once a week with cold water. Huge fading after only 2 washes 😩 I was using his polychrome shampoo/ conditioner too
Can you just mix the dye with conditioner and after shampooing use it as needed and wash it out like normal and keep the color fresh?
Should be possible since you can do it with arctic fox and the formula of this dye isn't that different.
Do u think it can work on dark brown hair? I want to die my hair but just not permanently so I'm trying to find a good semi permanent dye

Depends on how often the hair is washed as well as what shampoo is used. There’s shampoos that help retain the color so if you don’t use on of those it’ll probably go away sooner. Also if you use really hot water vs lukewarm/cold it will also wash it out quicker. Hope that helps I’m not a professorial I just dye my hair a lot lol

Is it really necessary to wash your hair every day? I wash mine once a week and I bet the colour would last at least 2 months. How does it fade compared to other dyes where you washed it every day?
Ive been washing my hair everyday for my whole life. So my hair gets really REALLY oily if I dont wash it for more than a day or two. Just recently Ive gotten it to the point where I can wash it every other day without it being greasy. :') its a work in progress
The Ion permanent color lasted about a month under the same conditions as this dye, so that's why I was a little surprised.
I wash mine once a week and xmondo super purple still faded really fast unfortunately.

It stained my pillow case (you can kinda see it in one of the clips lol) but when I threw it in the washer it came out perfectly fine. :)

Thank you for the “fade report”; I won’t be buying his product if they fade that fast. I used RAW brand color last two times and it actually lasts roughly a month for me but I don’t wash my hair every day.
Of course! And to be fair I didn’t give it the best conditions to last a long time... so it’s partly on me. Oo I haven’t heard of the RAW brand before, what color did you try out?
If you don't shampoo every other day then you can buy the color because it will last you for a month or even longer.

Semi doesn’t last long. Depending on what shampoo you use and the hot water doesn’t help. And even base would’ve helped it also. Still looked super stunning on you and faded nicely. You should try iroiro
Iro iro lasts forever! The blue for me faded quickly which is typical but the purple, oh girl, it would not leave.

Your not supposed to wash your dyed hair daily with hot water. Its supposed to only last a month or so anyways because its semi-permanent.
You need to speak up a bit hun,I tried a few days ago to watch one of your videos & ended up on volume 100! this one is even quietet! lol x
You honestly shouldn't wash your hair everyday for a lot of reasons. Especially when you have dyed hair.
You strip your natural oils and dyed hair has even less of those natural oils for obvious reasons so if I were you I would only wash 2-3 times a week and that is if you have really oily hair and have to.
There's really nothing wrong with washing your hair everyday. I do and my hair is very healthy and its curly and best of all it doesnt smell gross 🙌🙌🙌
There are many conditions that require daily or almost daily washing of hair. It’s crappy but hormones, bacteria and skin conditions do nasty things.
Some people really are unbelievadly stupid it seems. And should not be put in charge of felt tip pens, letalone hair dye!
You shouldn't call this a review because you have no idea how well that product performs when treated properly.
