Bosch Crankshaft Position Sensor #0261210170
This video contains footage of a crankshaft sensor being installed on my sprinter. Please seek professional help if you need work done on your vehicle, this is just footage of me working on my own vehicle. Any repair or modification you perform to your vehicle are made at your own risk.
Hay, I have the '06 2500 and the trick to releasing the connector for the wiring on the sensor is by push squeezing that little raised surface with grip treads and this lifts the clip on the connector and off comes the connector. The flat blade approach is not needed. You may have to open up a small pliers to squeeze that better.
Excellent video!! Thank you!!!
that came out a little to easy.....
Do you know what the two wires are going to this sensor? I replaced mine and still have the code
What symptoms led you to change the sensor ?
Did this solved your problem ?
Thank you
GeeLowjo My engine would shut off at times while driving, luckily for me I was not driving to fast. After doing a little research and understanding how the crankshaft sensor works I decided to try replacing my sensor. After doing so I have not experienced the sudden engine cut off. Easy install, inexpensive hope this helps you.
UreThane thank you for your response !!!
I hooked the code reader and gave me camshaft and crankshaft sensor codes.
Since my truck overheated due to a bad thermostat my guess was that the camshaft sensor got cooked under those temps so I’ve changed that one only for now and it worked so far.
Thank you again for the help !!!
