Can't find my crankshaft position sensor in my v70 2.5t volvo
I need help please. I've tried 3 different sensors and even tried another dme on my 2007 e60.
I can't get any voltage drop on sensor running magnet across it.

Good information about the starting symptoms that I haven't seen elsewhere. My 2007 Chrysler T&C had trouble starting hot two or three times. I assumed the starter was going. There were no codes. Then today it threw a P0017 and started running bad - almost stalling out every time I came to a stop and responding slowly to the accelerator pedal. Will check the sensor tomorrow, but it seems quite likely. So I'm guessing the starting hot issues can be an early warning.

Vehicle: 2013 Hyundai, Azera. I am told this part needs to be replaced. There were numerous codes that presented w/ the main key fob. After I asked, should you check the communication w/ the other key fob (extra), they check and said that there was a "hidden code." The other key fob registered a code for this. It does not sound for sure that this is the fix, but they said it could clean many of the other codes. Do you think I should have to pay for a 2nd diagnostic hour when they should have initially asked if there were 2 key fobs? I've kept the car up and have never had any prior issues. Welcome your feedback.

When the crankshaft sensor starts to go bad, it starts showing symptoms when it's cold. This is my own experience. You just can't find that information anywhere. You could easily think that there is a problem with the mixture ratio, although the crankshaft sensor may be the real culprit and may work well in warm weather, but at a certain degree of frost it starts to show symptoms.

@@buckhayes2104 And the freezing point where the symptoms start can be very sharp. It may be that the car works well, for example, at -13 c degrees and -14 c doesn't work anymore very well. In severe frosts, it sounded as if the ignition was completely out of place and the car would only idle at about 500rpm and engine may not be able to take more revs.. The car smoked a lot and the exhaust smelled strange.
@@buckhayes2104 Here's a link to a video where you can hear how the car's engine was doing before the fault was found. I myself had two faults. The crankshaft sensor and then the air mass meter. But the crank sensor was the main culprit. The faulty air mass meter made jerks only at higher revs while driving. But didn't affect the idle and didn't make it difficult.
I almost replaced the ECM when it was just sludge and metal buildup on the CPS. Thanks you just saved me a couple hundred dollars.

Hi there mechanic base,i have a vw passat b6,saloon ,1.9 Tdi ,2007 and since a week dont start. On the tester showed me the camshaft sensor.Can be this problem to no start? If yes where is the sensor located? Thanks and waiting for your reply

@@luckympho_m I'm having same problem. Mine just cranks. I've changed the vvt solenoid, solenoid filter, camshaft sensor, fuel pump, starter, battery, a couple sparks plug... It's still cranks but no start. I have no codes showing when I plug the OBD. I'm thinking it's the crankshaft sensor tho.
@chriskramp5174 My problem was the metal plate that came after the crank sprocket. Apparently, the letter on it is supposed to be faced outside(B)(F). The crank sensor gets its reading from it

My car is very difficult to start for the first time, after about 20 seconds it starts, especially when it is cold. and after that every start goes well, so only the 1st start. Battery ignition coil spark plug has been replaced, what do you think? I would like to help, can it be done by the sensor that only works the 1st time

I've a Opel Corsa C 1.4 16v
the engine start good, any codes or ligths on the dashbord appers, but after 15 or 20 minutes after the start and when the engine get temperature 90°c the engine cut out, after that, I trying to restart it, but the half of the dashbord is off... no check engine light, no oil, no inmo, nothing light are ON... after that 1 hour and when the engine is cold or warm, the engine start again normally. Do you think that the sensor is damaged or the connector o wires?

Porsche Cayenne GTS - Along with Crankshaft sensor my electrical devices are not working or affected could this also be cos of crankshaft? Or is it something else?
The driver seat window is slow and the roof doesn't close completely - There is a small gap and the LCD system bought last year also failed or not working.

Can this information be applied to motorcycles as well? My kawasaki z900 - 2017 sometimes just wont start and I've gotten the code P0335 on it. Sometimes it just wont start for at least 6-7 tries but then it works just great. However, after riding it for some time , if I turn of the ignition it wont start which has left me stranded a couple of times (sorry for my english, I'm from Sweden) Great informative video btw!
Yes, it's quite likely. That sounds like a crank sensor.

I need help with my e60. When I plug in sensor the 5 volts goes down to 2.5v.
It's got good 12v power and good ground from dme.
I tried to see any volt drop with a ociloscope. I tried 3 different sensors and 2 different dme.
My 2017 Nissan patrol super safari starts rough making weird sound, fuel efficiency is lower than the norm, RPM plays around at idle, has no check engine light on (bought it used, suspect foul play). Used my scan tool and got a confirmed P0335 engine speed sensor which I assume is the same as crankshaft position sensor. Cleared it and and it still came back the same. Not sure where the crankshaft sensor is to inspect it, and the manual doesn't mention it.
Its worth mentioning I also have a confirmed C1130 (ABS system code).
All those symptoms correspond to a bad CKP sensor.
hello i have volvo v50 2010 1.6hdi i had error in dash saying engine performance is lowerd and car went to safe move (stabilitry control turned off) and i couldnt go over 100kmh when i left it over night massage was still there but car was not in safe mode anymore( stability control was on) i wasa able to do 160km before it went in safemode again went on diagnostic and dude told me it was crankshaft sensor problem but he thinks it was just connection problem with it he delated error and he told me to drive it and to tell him if it showed up again, i went to work that day and come back i did about 100-110 km and there were no error messages. what do u think about it. ps i was always able to start it without any problems and it runed smooth even in safe mode and with performance massage on

Greetings, I own a 1993 C3500 7.4 Truck & I cannot locate the crankshaft Position Sensor (CKG).
I've seen references of between Harmonic Balancer & Timing Cover, in the Block above the oil pan, back of the block, or inside the Distributor. I've looked carefully, no loom wires, no port in timing cover, & I replaced the OEM Distributor with new OEM unit.
Vehicle timing set to 4 degrees before TDC. Verified all spark plug & fuel inj.
Vehicle starts, stalls, back fires.

It's on the back side of the engine, near the transmission, on the passanger side.
Just look for the oil cooler lines, and you should spot it.
