  • You have a lot of choices when you’re selecting which kind of MR machine is best for you. The Siemens 1.5 Tesla Short-bore MRI is shorter in length than a traditional machine. For you, this means you’ll be closer to both ends during your exam. Just where your head and body rest during your scans depends on which body part you are having imaged. Take a look at the various positions for patients in our Short-bore including:
    -Breast MRI (in this scan you are lying on stomach with your arms above your head and your head is near the opening at the end of the scanner)
    -Cervical Spine MRI (in this scan a coil placed over your chin)
    -Ankle MRI (this scan is considered one of the easiest scans for the patient because your head is outside of the scanner)

    If you do an abdominal mri in this machine will your head be outside the tube?

    30 minutes is to long, it should be like a cat scan.
