- Hey guys! I am back with another video and it's one of the most requested videos I have gotten! We are installing a Corsair H60 120mm liquid cooler AIO in my HP Omen 25L! The results came out GREAT and it looks awesome! Let me know what you think down below in the comments!
ALTERNATE USE FOR CORSAIR H60 WITH OMEN: You can add a splitter to one of your SATA power plugs like P5 and connect more SATA Devices:
SATA Splitter: amzn.to/3j6LO7K
So I feel like I need to explain the SATA power connector needed to power the H60. So all Omens come with a M.2 NVME SSD hard-drive that is connected to the motherboard and the majority of Omens come with a 3.5" mechanical SATA hard-drive ( the one in the upper hard-drive cage ). The bottom hard-drive cage is going to be empty and there will be 2 connectors loose in the case, one of them is a SATA DATA cable and a SATA power cable ( labeled P5 ); these cables are meant to be for if you add an additional SATA hard-drive like a 2.5" SSD or 3.5" HDD. For the Corsair H60 to work properly, you will need a SATA power connector ( the one labeled P5 for example). So say you already added another hard-drive to your system, that P5 cable would already be in use, so you would not be able to use this AIO. You would have to change out the PSU so you had additional SATA power connector, or take that drive out of the system. I hope that explains it.

I worked hard on this video guys and if you didn't notice, I actually reverted the Omen BACK TO STOCK to show this tutorial, meaning I had to completely disassemble the PC twice, because I had the Noctua U9S backing plate on there before. Please leave a like for the effort I put into filming this! Comment below if you prefer the look of the Noctua U9S air cooler or the Corsair H60! For those interested, here was my original cooler replacement video for the U9S:
czcams.com/video/lDjr7-7NBko/video.html
Thank you for watching guys!!
I think I understood you correctly. Regarding the SATA power, if you do have a second drive that requires the SATA connection in the second bay as well, you can get a SATA power splitter that would take the second SATA connector and split it out so you could power both the second drive and the AIO. Or you could use the splitter off the first HDD SATA power connector to power both HDDs and use the second connector for the AIO. Just a suggestion, if someone want to have their cake and eat it too so to speak without having to replace the power supply.
I tried to make it the least confusing I could but it was hard to explain. Omens have the SATA daisy chain that powers the RGB controller / 3.5” hard-drive / the free cable for adding an additional hard -drive. I was going to mention a SATA splitter but didn’t want to make it more confusing. I’ll go ahead and edit the description to include a SATA splitter.
What graphics card are u using here
My Omen came with an RX5700 AMD GPU.
So I've used your videos to add a few fans and now I want to upgrade my 30L's CPU cooler. I'm curious if you prefer the Corsair or the noctua? Is there much difference in performance?
I’ve had my Omen 30L PC since April. It was (and still is) my first PC. I’ve ran into a lot of problems, but mainly that had to do with me being a noob in the PC world. I’ve watched a lot of videos about PC’s and I’m fairly comfortable replacing some parts within the PC. Once I noticed your channel, I felt so relieved because you make things so much easier to understand. I watched a couple of your videos about installing Noctua fans and replacing the stock fans and I sit at about 37-42 degrees celsius when idle (compared to the mid 40’s and almost low 50’s). I took off the stock CPU fan and put a Noctua fan on it just for now, and I’m still trying to find a new CPU cooler. I’m not really a huge fan when it comes to AIO coolers, but I’ll definitely consider getting it. I know I ranted a ton, but I genuinely wanted to thank you for making my life much easier when it comes to PC’s.
Hey! I appreciate you writing this comment and I’m glad my videos make it easy for you to understand! If you aren’t a fan of AIO coolers like this, I did upload a tutorial for the Noctua U9S air cooler, which may be more up your alley! I posted a link in the pinned comment on this video as it’s the original one I did. Omen is a great PC to start off with!
@@DanKamYouKnow Absolutely! I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about the PC at first. But after I messed around with some things and improved my fans, I’m very happy with what I have so far. Appreciate your help, and I’m looking forward to your future vids!
Yup, the Omen in stock form is a decent computer, but can be made really good with a few tweaks. Thanks!!
Dan out here fulfilling viewer requests! Going above and beyond for us HP Omen users! Thank you!
Appreciate it 🤝🤝🤝
Got an HP Omen 30L about a week ago and your videos have been a lifesaver. Thanks for the information! Love the videos!
Thanks Jerry! Congrats on the new PC!
Always great to see your tutorial vids, easy to follow guide with useful tips and tricks. Nice job.
Appreciate it Stephen!
I just installed my Noctua cpu cooler and followed the steps in one of the videos you posted, thank you for making these videos they help a lot a lot !!!!
You’re welcome! Happy my videos were helpful! 🤝🤝🤝
Just followed this video tutorial with my son. Everything went perfectly. Thank you so much for doing these videos.
Happy to hear!! Thanks for the comment Robert
hey dan! just bought this aio today for my 25L and followed this tutorial. thanks for it i wouldnt have done it without you! also it works great right now
Hey! That’s great dude, so glad you are happy with it. Thanks for the comment, appreciate you
I just purchased a h60 last week. I love it. It took my cpu temps for mid 70s to mid 50s while gaming. And gpu is now high 60s. It took me a couple hrs to install, because I never touched a pc before. Plus a couple trips to home depot for the t15 and screws. Lol
So weird how they used Torx for the CPU cooler! Glad you got it going and your results look great 👍🏻
Man is doing god's work. Just wanna say I appreciate the time you take to help us bro!
No worries 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Love making these videos 😎
Another superb tutorial Dan! Always happy to see a notification for a new video of yours. Hope you and your family are well my friend.
Appreciate it! All is OK over here, and I hope you are doing well too. 🙌
thanks for this vid man! i recently got an omen 25L and decided i'd dive in and get the h60 for it
Definitely a great cooler for the Omen! Thank you
Just added a cooler master AIO to my 25L. Just wanted to say thanks because i couldn't have done it without your video's. Next upgrade is new case because this one is the worst! Thanks again!
That’s awesome and I am super happy that my videos were helpful for you. Thank you for the comment.
You’ll love having a new case because it opens you up to so many different fan and cooler options too!
Notification gang 😊
you’re the goat thank you so much for doing this!!! The wait was definitely worth it, now I can have confidence installing mine thanks to you👍
Appreciate your support my friend! If you have any questions on the install, let me know!
@@DanKamYouKnow will do brother! Also, I used your affiliate link hope it helps even if it's a little!
Thank you! It helps the channel a lot. I appreciate you doing so! 🤝
@@DanKamYouKnow so my package came in yesterday and I started at 10pm it was rough but I was able to do it thanks to you!
However I have one problem I for the life of me can not reconnect the little antenna to the wifi card/Bluetooth module. I was able to reconnect one and spent like a good hour trying to reconnect the second one but no luck. I decided to try tried one last time because it’s so late now(3:25 am my time lol) and I accidentally ended up disconnecting the one I had connected 💔
Do you have any tips on reconnecting the antenna?
Nice work!! So the antennae are a pain, you just have to make sure the head of that connection is straight with the “post”. I found using your fingernail to press down is the easiest way.
Glad you got the cooler installed properly 👍🏻
As always, great job. You do tutorials well.
Thank you Dennis!!
Literally bought a H60 for my Omen 20 minutes ago and here's the video already. We think alike! Thank you Dan 👍
That's awesome! Hope this will be helpful for you! 👍👍👍
@@DanKamYouKnow Hi Dan. Thanks for the confidence you gave me, I was initially planning on just replacing the rear and cpu fan because I was afraid to handle the motherboard. Eventually I’m really happy I chose to do the whole deal; the H60, 2 Noctua fans (120 & 90mm) for the bottom and one as replacement for the stock rear fan. My Ryzen 9 3900 was hitting the 95c limit and is now down 25-30!! degrees under load while being silent!
Thanks for all your hard work and teaching me A LOT!
You’re welcome! Your machine is going to be running great after all that!
@@DanKamYouKnow could you use the magnetic screwdrivers in the description instead of the screwdrivers you use?
Yup, any screwdriver really. The magnetic tips help with keeping the screws on the end of the screwdriver.
i really love the way u explained everything from removing the cooler system to the mother board and how to apply everything. for me for being someone who is new to gaming pc and such, i just recently got a Omen 30L ryzen 7 5800x 8-core and 3060 ti. and i really want to change my cooling system and its a bit scary cause of having to remove the mother board. ive never removed or added anything onto my pc Long story short ur explanation is very understandable even for someone who is new to removing and adding new parts. im going to subscribe and keep up with everything that has to do with gaming pc !
Hey! That’s awesome dude, welcome to the world of PC Gaming / Modifying. Happy to help and I try to explain things as clearly as possible because I remember what it’s like starting out. Plus PC components are expensive so I totally understand. Thanks for the sub 👍🏻
another awesome video. keep it up man!
Thank you!!! 🤝
Good stuff as always Dan, thank you.
Thank you!!
Another great video, Dan.
Thanks Fredo!
nice tutorial dan on installing the cosiar h60
Appreciate it dude!
It's gonna look so good in my white omen case just waiting to grab both a CPU and cooler before I do my install will definitely come back for reference
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your voice is so soothing I love it
Thank you! Took so long to get used to hearing my voice on camera. Haha
Thanks for your videos. I have the intel 10700 version. I have been running Iracing in VR and heat has been an issue. I’ve been getting thermal throttling for quite some time at some tracks( I was not smart enough to realize what was going on at the time). I can’t wait to install one of these and see how much it improves performance. I’ve had my Omen 25 for maybe a year. I hope I didn’t kill my cpu too much. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for your hard work.
CPU's are designed to be ran at very high temps for long periods of time. Even if you were close to it's max temp, the CPU will throttle itself to prevent damage. This cooler will reduce temps by about 20c-25c under a benchmark 👍
Omg I need this tutorial 6 months ago 😂😂😂 you don’t know the struggle I when thru so many parts return 🤣🤦🏽♂️. I saw all your videos so I can figure out my build thank god I managed to put everything I want and it work nice. Thanks to your earlier tutorial. I wanna send you some pictures I got a thermal take AIO full RGB with 3 fan hook to it both side of the radiator and one on the bottom full RGB also, 750F Corsair Power Supply RGB version this one was tricky but got it done. And 32GB corsair vengeance pro 32000Mhz full RGB ddr4 Ram, your Ryzen Master tutorial help me so much with this. Just wanna say your videos been a great help.
You’re welcome and I know! I should of done this video a loooonnnggg time ago. You got a 3 fan in an Omen case?!?
@@DanKamYouKnow yesss I know hard to believe but I manage that. Next PC Showcase you do let me know I’ll send you videos and pics if you interested in seeing my build. But listen you Ryzen Master tutorial and your tear down video help me so much I even bought those tools kits you had, they make things soooo much easier 😮💨. Great channel tons of good info and I like that you always safe, everything you show on your videos you always warned people if you do this you can damage this and that I love that. Cause it save me the headed of Damaging my computer. Great work 👍 keep doing Omen videos man you won’t think it but your helping out alot of people like me. I love my HP Omen 30L but it is a pain to upgrade honestly, beautiful computers but they’re not very upgraded friendly.

Awesome!!! 😎🤝👌🏻
Wish I had this video when I installed mine. The community in your discord talked me through it though
I should of made this video LOOONNNGG ago! Glad everyone on the Discord was able to help
Just did this a few days ago, dropped my idle CPU temps by 10 degrees - worth it
Nice!! Quite an improvement over the stock air cooler 👍🏻
This is another great video for anyone considering an aio in the Omen. But personally, would you pick it over the Noctua for this situation ? I never really believed in 120mm aio’s in comparison to a great aircooler. Too bad the case does not support 240mm. But again, great video with clear, easy to follow instructions.
Thanks Kevin! I myself prefer the Noctua U9S but that’s personal preference. This AIO has gotten very similar results to the U9S so it’s a very valid option for Omen users. The mass majority of people prefer the looks of AIO’s, so I thought I should cover doing this install too. Omen case is limiting for sure.
Hey Dan! Your videos are fantastic. I have been debating the U9S or an AIO. Would you say it's more efficient to use the U9S seeing as it's a relatively simple install with almost identical results? I use my PC primarily for gaming, and we all know what it does to our CPU's. Many people tell me that AIO's are significantly better than fan cooling in general. Would love your take on this.
Hey Justin! So under a full load ( 100% CPU utilization), the U9S came in around 70c and the H60 came in around 73c, so pretty similar results. IMO, I would do the Noctua U9S, much more simple, better results, and I think it actually looks better than 120mm AIO’s
Liquid cooling is usually better because heat transfer with water is much better but air cooling is still a very viable option, even for high end CPU’s. The Omen can’t fit em but the Noctua D15 air cooler will cool as well as most 240mm and 280mm AIO’s. If you doing some major overclocking though, an AIO is your best bet. For the Omen, I think the U9S is the best choice.
Thanks so much installing mine tomorrow
Nice!!! Let me know how it goes 👌🏻
@@DanKamYouKnow well I actually ordered the rgb version of this but this tutorial works just fine for that one it’s basically the same aio just RGB and the install went good BUT for some reason my computer won’t detect the aio so neither will ICUE but I mean it works 🤷♂️ I tried everything but it guessing it’s just compatibility barriers
That’s why I went non RGB is because Omen motherboards and industry standard RGB don’t work well together. I probably should of mentioned that in the video because I get a lot of comments on it. HP seems to block all this access for 3rd party software like iCue, it’s really annoying. At least your cooler is functional in lowering temps
@@DanKamYouKnow yeah the most important thing is the cooling
Truth 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Regarding SATA, you can get a splitter for the SATA power connector. Obviously most people don't have one of these on hand, but it would work and you could keep all the drives.
Yup, we already talked about this. I have added a splitter to the description already 👍🏻
@@DanKamYouKnow could you not use the LC header on the motherboard for the pump? Thats what its designed for!
That will control pump fan speed but the pump will not operate without the SATA connection.
FROM SPAIN THANK YOU✌️
You’re welcome and greeting from California 👌🏻
Hey man! This video was very easy to follow, and thank you for your hard work on making it easy to understand. I am new to PC gaming, and the PC world in general, so this was not easy to accomplish. However, I hit a wall. After following your instructions and replacing the fan, I can no longer turn the desktop on and am having troubleshooting the issue. Would you have any ideas on what I may have done wrong? Thank you!
Hey, glad the video was helpful! When you hit the power button, what exactly happens? Are you positive that you have everything plugged in properly? Triple check all your connections and let me know what happens on pressing power
Wait, you reverted it to stock just to be more ilustrative??!! Dam youre a legend.
Thank you for noticing! I disassembled the PC twice to make the video 🤣. Thought it would be more helpful! 😎
Great tutorial once again, I wonder if you can swap out the bundled fan for a Noctua one.
Yes you can and I already have! The Corsair fan is a higher RPM so it actually worked better! But it gets pretty noisy at high RPM
Hey Dan!
I love your videos and they have been so helpful for me. I have the Omen 25 L (GT12-0197C) and have added a Coolmaster 120mm rgb fan in the top bracket like you did on your previous video. I have the fan working fine, but I am curious if we are able to get the rgb to work on the Omen PC. I couldn't find a rgb header and am unsure of my options on how to get this to work. Any suggestions or able to point me in the right direction?
TIA!
Hey Tyler, thanks for your comment! So, because the Omen motherboard doesn't have conventional ARGB or 12v RGB headers, I never attempted to go the RGB route with the Omen motherboard because I knew it would be a pain. I know it's possible but requires numerous adaptors and didn't really want to deal with the hassle. So I am not too sure on how it's done.
Thank it Help me alot to make the same thing on my Omen 30L
Happy to hear. 😎👌🏻
Nice Vid man, I just bought a Jonsbo 360mm AIO. Its not as bad ass as the Corsair or the NZXT coolers but I'm pretty sure it will suffice for a 3900X :)
Thanks! As long as it’s doing it’s job and keeping the CPU cool, you’re good!
Hey Dan,
Thank you soo much for this video. I've just upgraded my own omen with the Corsair H60. It would have taken me soo much extra time if it wasn't for your video.
My GPU runs 20°C colder now.
I've just got one question about the fan. Since the top-fan (radiator fan) is now an exhaust fan. Wouldn't it make sense to turn the rear fan arround and make it an intake fan?
Because now you have two exhaust fans next to eachother. It feels like the rear one is now working against the radiator fan?
You’re welcome, happy to hear you got it working! With the rear fan, you can experiment and see what works best. But overall, I’d say just leave it as an exhaust fan. Flipping the fan around wouldn’t do any harm though and you could compare temps
Great tutorial Dan!! I heard you could control the fan and pump speed. In which way it is possible to do so? Bios or Omen command center?
Thanks! The only way to control fan speeds is through Omen Gaming Hub, and it’s unfortunately very limited
@@DanKamYouKnow Yep really limited indeed. I'll probably get it because I need a new cooling system. At first, I bought the RGB one but realized after the installation and with your video that the OMEN motherboard doesn't have internal USB 2.0 headers, which kind of sucks. Thanks for the tutorial. Great videos as always.
Thank you! Majority of HP components are proprietary so it’s makes upgrades a bit difficult.
Thank you Dan. I just installed new RAM in my Obelisk. As soon as I get enough courage im going to upgrade to a cooler too. Question: I see you handling the motherboard with your bare hands; What precautions should I take to not damage the motherboard while installing the cooler? Or is it not an issue for modern computers?
They say you should try to ground yourself before working on PC's, I honestly just jump right in and do the work. They do make anti static wrist straps if you want to be overly cautious.
Thank you. I just installed the H60 into my Obelisk and it's working pretty good. I just wished the radiator and fan were attached to the ceiling of the PC case with more than two small screws on the same side of the plate. I wonder why they designed the case like that?
Not sure but I haven’t seen any issues with it though! Guess they figured the rad and fan didn’t weigh enough to break the bracket.
Nice job. Tnx
Thank you
I just installed this using your video (huge help so thank you so much!) my aio didn’t have a cable to plug into the SATA cable. I started up my pc and it’s definitely working, I’m seeing a noticeable drop off in temps. Only thing is that all of my rgb lights won’t turn on now. Probably have to go back and see if I missed a connection somewhere.
Did you figure it out? Check the Omen RGB board in the bottom right corner and the connection from there to the motherboard.
@@DanKamYouKnow Yup I figured it out! Thanks for following up! It was just a cable not being properly plugged in. Temps are easily 20+c lower than before so I really appreciate this video. I upgraded to a ryzen 7 3700x and noticed it was running hot with the stock cooler so needed an upgrade.
If I wanted to swap out the rear case fan, I would need 92 mm?
That’s awesome! Probably the best mod you can do for the PC’s. Yup, rear fan is 92mm 😎🤝😎
Hi dan. thank you for this video. What did you use to test temps for best accuracy.
following your video to fit mine.
Great job.
Thank you! I used Cinebench R23, which pins the CPU @ 100% utilization for the ultimate test of how your cooling is doing.
@@DanKamYouKnow Brilliant Thank you.
Hi Dan! Thanx a lot for your inspiring Tutorials. Can you please answer one question? Why do we have to change the Original CPU Cooler bracket? Thank you for your reply!
I thought I answered this but the Omen backing plate will not fit with other coolers. Some people have modified screws and spacers but I do not recommend this method.
Hey Dan
Thanks for the videos on the HP Omen series, I am new to the world of PC building and thought of buying a pre-built one to start things off. Your videos gave me the courage to actually go ahead and buy one with Ryzen 5700G and rtx3070.
Looking at all the comments below this video, looks like I would need to change the stock cooler and was thinking about the EK-AIO 120 D-RGB based on your other video on 240mm one. Just wanted to know if this would be compatible with Omen 25L and if I would need to remove the back bracket to install the 120 as many of the installation video's online say that the 120 works with the stock back plate. (Also does this void the warranty :P )
Every single cooler will require the stock backing plate to be removed. People have figured out a way to utilize the stock cooler backing plate but I do not recommend using this method because there is no way to know how much pressure is or isn’t being placed on the CPU. I would take the extra steps and remove the motherboard. The EK 120mm AIO will work but not sure how you would power the RGB for it.
Also, HP requires the PC to be in stock form for warranty work. So any kind of modifications done to the PC will need to be reverted back to stock for HP to handle warrantable concerns. I don’t work for HP though.
Hey Dan, I love your videos and bought a number of things with the affiliated links! Would you recommend the h60 over the h60i (does it even fit)? Also, how is the fan noise - have you considered changing the Corsair 120mm fan to a noctua one?
Thanks so much for your informative videos!
Appreciate your support!!! Thank you. The Corsair fan is a bit noisy but it’s not horrible. Didn’t really notice it until I was benchmarking the CPU. I did try a Noctua fan and the noise level came down a bit.
H60i is RGB and the Omen motherboard doesn’t have any RGB headers, so you won’t be able to get the RGB to work properly. Unless you got some external controller or something.
@@DanKamYouKnow thanks for your input and videos, again. I just received the 2021 Omen 30L and noticed that it already came with liquid cooling for the CPU. I suspect it’s a cooler master as several of the other parts are from cooler master as well, would you recommend switching out to a different cooling system like the h60 or leave it as is?
I would stick with the HP cooler, as an H60 will give the same type of performance. If you want to lower temps with a factory AIO, case swapping is your best bet.
@@DanKamYouKnow thanks for your input! Have a happy holiday good sir
Thank you. Hope you have a good holiday as well.
Hey great video, you did a great job explaining everything but i have a concern for myself. My motherboard does not seem to have a LC_PUMP spot jus a LC_FAN but the cpu slot says CPU/PUMP FAN
LC Fan should be the same. Basically means “liquid cooler fan”, which means a liquid cooler pump. So use the CPU fan for your radiator fan and water block connection on LC
Super valuable videos! I've seen people having a problem at startup of the bios not accepting an AIO when its connectes to the CPU/Pump header..
That’s very strange because the BIOS just requires that a fan be plugged into the motherboard, or it will throw a fan error on boot, that’s by-passable.
@@DanKamYouKnow Cool, thanks for the reply! The reason I'm asking is this: czcams.com/video/uxn2htZKc9s/video.html
The H60 pump only requires SATA power and has the 3 pin connector, which gets plugged into the LC_pump header. Then the radiator 4 pin fan gets plugged into the CPU_fan header. No issues with startup at boot.
Watching his video, I wish he would of explained better, exactly what’s happening because I don’t understand why it won’t startup with the Arctic cooler
@@DanKamYouKnow Yup, its strange! The Arctic has a 4 pin connector. I have it on my desk waiting to be installed, I'll comment here how it goes ;)
So it only has a 4 pin connector? Nothing else coming off the pump? Just make sure you don’t use anything metal to remove the HP backing plate.
Hi Dan, loving your tutorials and reviews. Is it possible to swap the standard cooler for the H60 without removing the motherboard? Regards.
No, you have to utilize the cooler backing plate that came with the H60. It is possible with 10-12mm screws to use the stock backing plate, but it’s guess work and you don’t have any idea how little or how much pressure you are putting on the CPU
@@DanKamYouKnow Hi Dan, thanks for your respons. To bad, I was hoping the nut-bolt thing would act as a spacer. I opened the case for now, tilting the lid, which gave a substantial temperature drop especially on the CPU.
That definitely does help get hot air out of the case
Hey Dan!
Currently in the process of taking apart my omen for the first time to see if I am capable of doing this upgrade.
Do you know if the newer 30L omens have a different process for removing the graphics card?
I am removing the bracket and the appropriate screws but it feels like I am having to push the base tab with too much force to get any movement while lifting on the gpu.
Appreciate the video and keep up the good work
The release tab has a locked and unlocked position. You will definitely know when it’s down and the method of removing the GPU is universal amongst almost all motherboards.
@@DanKamYouKnow Thanks man appreciate it!
Turned out I just needed to give it a some more force.
No worries! Glad you got it 👍🏻
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the donation!! So happy that my video was helpful for you! 👏
Hey man thanks for the video super useful to a beginner pc modifier. But I have a slight question, can the fan be used as an intake fan thanks.
No, I would not use the AIO fan as an intake because that will pull the warm air from the radiator back into the case. Best bet is to add an intake fan on the bottom of the case.
@@DanKamYouKnow Thanks man for letting helping this newbie out
Hi, I've been watching your videos cause I own an Omen 30L pc. Just a quick question, can I install / replace any 120mm liquid cooling for my "Intel socket 1200" processor on my original case? Anyway, thank you for helping your fellow Omen Users!
Your system currently has the stock air cooler? If you are going with an air cooler, you have to stick with a cooler that is shorter than 140mm in height. If you are going with an AIO, it has to be a 120mm AIO. And yes, it's a LGA 1200 Intel socket for all Omen motherboards
Awesome video Dan, found your channel just after purchasing an OMEN 25L (Ryzen 7 5700G and TRX 3070 Ti). Do you think in the future I can salavage the parts from this PC and make a custom PC? Does the CPU come out?
Thank you! Yes, everything on the Omen is standard amongst all of the other parts. So you can swap out anything you want to, including the CPU. Majority of Omen owners end up swapping to different cases and upgrading parts. It’s a great PC to learn about modifying PC’s
@@DanKamYouKnow Sounds good, thanks for the reply!
You’re welcome Kaustav 🤝
I have an Omen 30L. Would I be able to install the Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT, 240mm Radiator in my Omen and, if so, can I use this same installation process? Thanks for the awesome instructional videos.
Hey! 240mm radiators will not fit in an Omen case unfortunately. And RGB is tricky and kind of a pain to power in an Omen. Only 120mm AIO’s will fit properly.
Love the N64 shirt!
👌🏻😎👌🏻
Hi Dan! Thanx a lot for your inspiring Tutorials. Van you please auswerten ohne question? Why do we have to change the Original CPU Cooler bracket? Thank you for your reply!
The backing plate that comes with Omen will not work with other coolers. Other people have fabricated their own spacers and screws to get it to work, but it is not the ideal method.
Another great video. Looks wise, I prefer the H60. I have a couple of questions for you.
You said the H60 and the U9s perform similarly. Doesn’t that make the H60 better overall then since the the U9S takes heat from the CPU and fans it into the case which has to then be exhausted out by exhaust fans compared to the H60 which takes all the CPU’s heat directly to an exhaust fan?
Also, when you tested temps, I see that you limited your max core clock to 3600mhz on ryzen master, can you see what kind of temps you get if you run cinebench when ryzen master is set to default and let CPU power consumption stay at 100%?
Great video man!
Processor management was set to 100% for this test and Ryzen Master was set to Auto. I just realized the only thing that was capped with my voltage at 1.25v. I changed it back to AUTO and the tests were about 1c higher.
Wow that’s really good. What were your temps when you set everything to auto in ryzen master, set processor management to 100% and rendered a video?
The same as R23 benchmark. They both basically do the same thing and push the CPU to 100% usage. With auto everything, test came back 73-75c under full load. Around 55-65 in games.
Will a 240mm size aio fit in same space. Is it worth the upgrade. My build has a 92 mm 3-heatpipe RGB air cooler
I just build custom pc in this case cant wait for it
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks for the upload and content as usual! Quick question, do you think a double fan 210mm aio will fit? Or just a single fan aio?
Also, do you like aio or air better? And why? And why do people dislike aio? Doesn’t it cool better?
Also, love from Sweden! You’re awesome dude.
Hey!! Appreciate your support my friend. So, only 120mm AIO’s will fit in an Omen case. Me personally, I liked the look of my Noctua U9S air cooler over the Corsair H60, but that’s just my preference. Most people seems to prefer AIO’s though, which is why I made this video. The U9S will cool slightly better but the H60 is a LOT better than the stock air cooler. It’s a huge upgrade.
Greetings from California!
@@DanKamYouKnow thanks for the input. I’ll probably go with an air cooler, I’m all about performance and cooling and noctua knows their stuff!
Very true. I think the aesthetic of the Noctua U9S fits really well with the Omens as well.
@@DanKamYouKnow do you think the D15/s is too big for the 25l build? I’m debating if there’s a way to make it fit
I have the exact AIO for my Omen 25L! It’s unfortunate that the case doesn’t support a duel fan aio system :(
Nice! It’s a fantastic improvement over the stock air cooler. Yeah, the Omen case is unfortunately, pretty limited on the cooling options.
Dan, from your opinion, was this a better improvement than the one you did with the Noctua U9s. If we see it individually I mean.
The U9S was very close but outperformed the H60 by a couple Celsius. The radiator fan for the H60 is also a bit noisy at high RPM too, but that was at 100% CPU usage so it’s understandable. You can’t go wrong either way 👍🏻
Did the manual for the H60 instruct you on how to replace the liquid in 6 years (or however many years it says)? What do you have to do exactly?
No it did not. I would just replace it by then. Pretty sure it’s completely sealed. You’d have to contact Corsair
I’m watching this even tho the only part I still use from my omen is my drive
Thanks for the support my friend! Appreciate the view ❤️
Love you x

I'm in research phase before ordering an Omen 30L. Before getting into the AIO gear, what would be the problem with removing that plate blocking air flow in the top? Or leaving the glass side panel slightly open at the top? Mine will sit up on a table where nothing could fall inside it if people are worried about something shorting out parts.
Hey! If you’re in research mode for an Omen, I have a ton of videos of the Omen. Many of which I discuss if you don’t want to modify it yet, removing the top bracket for airflow helps quite a bit. You could also just mount a 120mm fan to that bracket, or adding one to the bottom of the case.
As far as the side panel, there is really no way to keep it slightly open. It’s either latched into place or it’s not, so I would be worried about it falling. You could just leave it off but that’s not really necessary IMO.
A+ content
Thanks my friend.
Hi Dan, Did you record this recently. I thought you had completely changed your OMEN configuration (new fans, power supply and even case). In this video it appears to be in its just bought state.
Recorded this the other day. I swapped out all my Omen parts about 2 months ago. I made this video:
czcams.com/video/iHgLXKw3dSg/video.html
My DIY build only had the CPU and GPU from my Omen, because I couldn’t find a GPU for MSRP. Finally picked up a 3070Ti and CPU for my main build, and rebuilt my Omen. The video above explains it all.
I reverted the Omen back to its stock form for this tutorial. Because it had the Noctua U9S in there before but I wanted the tutorial to be as if the PC were in its stock form, which I thought would be more helpful for viewers.
@@DanKamYouKnow Thanks Dan...............
Always helpful and wonderful work and Very thankful you help us☺️👍🏼the AIO Looks very pretty.
After my CPU broke, HP built in the Ryzen 9 3900 who got a little bit hotter than the Ryzen 7 before. After I built in the Noctua U9S I got pretty Temps of 60 C to 65 C at Ultra Settings in Far Cry 6 and Other games.
But the GPU Makes me Suffer. I got temps from 80 to 84 C* I tried to undervolt my 2060 RTX Super, but I think it is locked By HP or something, because Nothing Changes, when I change anything in the MSI Afterburmer. Maybe you got some idea, if there is a Chance to fix it ☺️
You should be able to set a more aggressive fan curve in MSI Afterburner.
@@DanKamYouKnow thanks I will try.
Nice video, also do you have a video to add more SSD,my hp Omen 25l only has 265 GB,which is not enough
I do not, but if you join my Omen Discord in the description, I have a full write up in the “FAQ” section on how to add an SSD, or replace the current one in your Omen 👌🏻
Hello Dan. Would you mind to do a full tutorial case swap to install your omen to a Antec Dark League DF600 Flux, Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case, Flux Platform, 5 x 120mm Fans Included, ARGB & PWM Fan Controller, Tempered Glass Side Panel, 2 x USB3.0, High-End GPU Support
I have created a case swap video that should be pretty close to how it will go for that case:
czcams.com/video/YiEc7Qd9l0s/video.html
All cases are roughly the same.
Between this liquid AIO and the Noctua Air Cooler, which one do you recommend? Can you compare the thermal results and the noise levels? Thanks!
U9S will be slightly more efficient and quieter. 70c R23 benchmark compared to the 73c with the H60
Couple questions, what were your temps prior to adding the Corsair and what is your fan setup, i.e. how many intake and how many exhaust. Thanks for the vid.
On the same R23 multi-core test, I used to hit 93c with the stock air cooler, dropped almost 15-20c with the H60. The best fan setup with the H60 is just having the bottom mount 120mm intake fan and replacing the rear 92mm fan. And then of course, the 120mm exhaust fan on the radiator
@@DanKamYouKnow so 1 intake, 2 exhaust and 1 cpu?
1 intake and 2 exhaust. Now fan on the CPU because the AIO pump is there
@@DanKamYouKnow ahhh of course, sorry and thank you again!
What temp differences did you see changing the stock aio to a aftermarket aio? Did you benchmark the pc before the upgrade if so how many degrees difference?
Mine did not have an AIO before, mine had the stock air cooler. On the same test, I hit 93c ( Thermal throttling is 95c ) with the air cooler. I hit 73c now with the H60, so about a 20c difference. Keep in mind, the benchmark is 100% CPU utilization so playing games will be much cooler.
If your Omen has the factory 120mm liquid cooler, changing to this won’t make a huge difference.
love the videos man, i have a ryzen 5 air cooled cpu and geforce rtx 3080 in my omen 30L. i lowered my cpu volatage to 1.018 and my cores to 3850 is that too low? my games run fine at ultra settings and and my cpu is stays around 50-60 celsius celcius which i feel is a good thing but im worried im under powering my cpu. Im new to changing settings like this so any help would be appretiated
Thank you!!! That’s a pretty strong undervolt but temps are solid and if you are happy with the performance, keep rocking it! You could always raise the core voltage by small increments upward until you find a sweet spot between temps / performance. 👌🏻
Hey Dan
Thanks for the great vid. I have the 30L with the HP CPU water cooling. But the fan goes up to 4.5k rpm which is insane. Do you know if I can replace the fan only (not the whole AIO)?
Yes, you can replace the fan with pretty much any 4 pin fan. A high quality 3,000 RPM or so will push more air and be quieter than the stock HP radiator fan.
@@DanKamYouKnow Thank you, Thank you sir! Really appreciate your help here!
@@DanKamYouKnow One more question. If I replace the fan on the HP radiator, will the RPM still adjust depending on what profile I choose in Omen Gaming Hub?
Yes, the RPM of the fan will still vary depending upon the PC’s load and your setting in OGH.
did those "4 small screws" come included with the pc or liquid cooler or did you get them yourself, if so what kind of screw are they specifically?
The 4 small screws came with the cooler. It is to my understanding that the older model Corsair H60 does not come with the screws. You will have to mount it like this: Bracket / Fan / Radiator. I am not sure what size the screws are unfortunately. You will have to reach out to Corsair support for the exact size, their support usually responds back within a day or 2 though.
I love you videos and its making me upgrade my cooling system. Can i fit a 240mm liquid cooler?
Thanks! No, only a 120mm AIO will fit properly. You can fit a 240mm as some have done on CZcams, but it’s a sloppy install and the radiator isn’t fully supported, I’d go 120mm
Sounds good. Im going to buy some fans for now, will the corsair work if they come with a lighting node so i can adjust the rgb? I’ve seen some people do it. Thanks!
Powering RGB is a major pain in the butt with Omens. Requires multiple adaptors and I don’t think iCue ( software for Corsair ) works with Omen motherboards. You may have to research that before purchasing, not 100%
Hello, the cooler didn’t pop up but it did slide a bit from left to right a cm or so while screwing in. My idle went from 50c to 38-40c. Pretty good! But Do you recommend me to reapply the paste since it did move?
Nice results! If you have extra thermal paste, it would be really easy to remove the 4 pump nuts, clean the CPU, and repaste. I am sure you are fine though.
Why the switch from Noctua U9S air cooler? It seems like you were getting better temps.
Strictly for content purposes. Lots of people prefer the AIO look so I wanted to do a tutorial for it as well. I myself actually prefer the U9S look, and it does outperform the H60 by a few degrees as well.
Hey I noticed that the video was 2 years old. Is there a more current AIO you recommend?
I would honestly recommend the Noctua U9S air cooler. While it may not suit some people’s preference, it performs the best out of any cooler I’ve found. I think it matches the Omen aesthetic really well, too.

I also made a tutorial on it to:

@@DanKamYouKnow thanks
Is this the only fan upgrade? I’m going to put this cooler in. Can I do anything else on top of this for additional cooking? Thanks
I think I saw your comment on the Omen Discord but there isn’t any other space to do anything at the top. This AIO will drop temps significantly though.
Watching this 2 years later with my new pc installing new fans and a water cooler, such good help. Thanks alot!😊
Awesome!! Happy to hear, thank you.
What exact fans did you chose and did you just replace them or put them in a spot/location, Whever there might be the space for an aditional fan? Im about to go to the shop as well for some fans (1 or 2 depending on idk what actually haha) but would love to hear how it turned out for you regarding temps? (have the i9-11900k with an 3080 version)
Before installing the fans it was overheating and super hot, not its about 40-50 degrees up and down. I dont remember the neames since it was my dad who bought them, but i can check next time im at my dads. @@Dannyp010
Hmm, this H60 model seems to be a bit newer than the one sold at Best Buy. I bought the H60 two weeks ago and it didn’t have rgb or a sata power connector, and installation process is a bit different. I’m not missing the rgb at all, but it’s kinda weird that there are two different Corsair products going by the same name.
I didn’t realize it at the time but my H60 is a newer model. The one you have is the original model they have been using since like 2014. Yours only has a 3 pin connection on the pump and the radiator mounts different with the fan. I originally wanted that one because it didn’t have SATA power but Amazon had the one I’ve got.
Could you install the fan/radiator at the bottom as an intake to get cool air moving over the radiator?
The radiator should never be below the pump. You’ll starve the pump from fluid and kill it very fast.
Hi Dan, I am confused, I watched your video but I do not know where to connect the wires from the pump as well from the fan. I have a B560M-Plus WIFI TUF Gaming Motherboard and CPU Cooler corsair iCUE H60i RGB PRO XT, the MB has 2 connectors a CPU fan and CPU OPT and 2 other connectors cha fan 1 and 2, all are male connectors, the pump has 2 four pin male connector a power sata and a 3 pin female connector with only one wire, the fan that came with it has a 4 pin female connector. Can you help me out please
This tutorial was for an Omen motherboard but, you probably want to connect the pump to the CPU fan header, then use the BIOS fan curve adjustments to dial in the curve you want for the pump.
So I bought this model in 2023, It came with a cooler master 120mm, intake fan, outtake fan, and cpu fan. I've heard from stock they overheat badly but this seems to be an "upgrading" version from prior years. Is this legit or not? My temps when gaming hover from 70-80.
They changed the Omens. They finally listened to community feedback and made some changes. Most Omens generally run pretty warm but safe. 70-80 is totally good.
Before getting Noctua air cooler I almost got this exact same aio
Can’t go wrong either way!
So I bought a deepcool 620 and I am wondering do I need to take the backplate off? Or can I just attach the new brackets to these standoffs. Would love an reply!
Hey Marko, you will need to install the back plate that comes with your new cooler. Unless you do custom size screws and I’m still not sure it would work with that cooler
Also, I just looked it up and the height for that cooler is 162mm, which is too tall for the Omen and your side panel will not fit back on. You need to stay under around 140mm for the cooler to fit, which is the main reason I went for the Noctua U9S at the time. Unless you have case swapped, then you should be fine, depending on the case measurements
I have what looks like the same AIO. But your has 2 wires. Something about the P5 cable. Mine didn’t come with it. Followed the vid to the “T”. Now i have no power at all. Any ideas?
One of the connectors from the pump should a 3 pin and a SATA connector that the P5 cable is plugged in to. The PC has no power at all? I would triple check all your connections, ESPECIALLY the power button connector
Thank you, I thought about using the Intel bracket, but being a Ryzen rig, thought I was condemned to using Ryzen parts. Question, will these instructions work with a iCUE H60i RGB PRO XT?
Yeah, All Omens use Intel spacing. That cooler will work but don’t know how you would power the RGB
@@DanKamYouKnow Thank you, Not worried about RGB, just need a GOOD cooler, as I don't like cruzing through my game at 90C... that is just plain too hot. Now ole granny has the courage to go deeper into disassembly of her 'baby'. Watched the video a few times, well done video.
Thank you so much! Appreciate you saying that. Cooler will definitely bring that temp way down 👍🏻
Hi Dan .. I've got a 30L and I want to change the omen cpu cooler to a AIO I've noticed there's an additional cable on the cooler from the power cable maybe an RGB? is that the case and if so we're does the cable lead to ?
Thanks.
Omen motherboard do not have traditional RGB connectors so you wouldn't just be able to plug it in ( assuming this cable is for the RGB ). Powering RGB with an Omen is a pain in the butt and requires multiple adaptors and just seemed like a headache, so I never used RGB components. Might want to ask on my HP Omen Discord, someone may know
Do I use the same intel back plate and cooler mount for a amd omen 40l I have the same h60 cooler
Awesome video, my H60x did not come with any instructions.
Those instructions would not have helped when it comes to the Omen, they’re different than any other motherboard out there. Happy to help 👍🏻
Dan I had a question, does omen 25L support rgb fans and if not is there a way to make rgb/argb fans work on omen 25L? If possible could you make vid about it.
Getting RGB to work in an Omen is way too much work and most of the RGB software, won’t even work with the Omen motherboard. It’s a big part of the reason all my Omen upgrades I did back then were non RGB. There’s no straight forward way of getting RGB to work unfortunately
Planning on doing this, is it better to have the pipes going on the right side or is it not physically possible? If you mentioned it, and I missed it, I apologize
You can place the tubes in pretty much any orientation but it might be hard to mount it on the right side. The tubes “flowed” more naturally to the left side but you can try it!
