    I actually followed your video guide on installing extra fans. I have added two 120mm Chromax fans in the case, one intake at the bottom and one at the top as an exhaust, it has helped with the cooling. I am still using the stock prism cpu cooler. My current idle temp is now a steady 35 centigrade, dropped from the previous 45. Also my fans are set to quiet in the Omen command centre.

    Hey man ! I ve been watching your videos and I have to say thank you so much! I have bought a pre-build omen 25L with an AMD 5 3600 and my CPU temperature while streaming and playing league of legends or brawhalla ( really weak games ) increase up to 80 and sometimes 85 degrees Celcius ofc. I have even since opened the case for more air to pass through.
    I wanted to ask you if you considered getting water cooling such as the Kraken m22 water cooling which I bought and I found extremely difficult to mount since I have to take the motherboard out entirely and I am not even sure If I will be able to mount the radiator plus thefan since you the case is really small and not the best for extra parts. My questions for you would be, is 70 to 80 degree not as alarming as it seems ? And would you advise to follow your method and install multiple fans on the inside instead of a water cooling system ?
    Thanks a ton ! And wish you a great day Dan !

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  Před 3 lety +4

      Hey Ahmad! A 120mm liquid cooler should fit within the chassis of the Omen with no issues, but you will have to remove the motherboard. I myself went with a Noctua air cooler which has yielded better results than 120mm AIO’s and doesn’t involve mounting a radiator.
      The fan additions/replacement will slightly help with temperatures and also fan noise ( if you replace the stock HP fans ). You could always try and set your maximum processor state to 99% and your minimum processor state to 5%. That made my temperatures plummet with almost zero performance loss. But tbh, 75-85c is a bit warm but those temperatures are considered safe. You could continue to game and everything would be fine. Cooler temps will make the components last even longer though.

    Just want to share some info, if you like it, you can take it with you, if not leave it as is.
    I recently bought the Hp Omen 25L with 3070 in it. From idle to gaming, the temperature was never below 60 C. It can reach max 80 C when playing FPS games. *Max CPU speed.
    If you want actual normal temps. Try using the pc in Open case. See what temps you are getting. What I am trying to say is, a good case with good airflow will be very close to your open case temp.
    It doesn't really matter how many heatsinks or fans you add to that case from HP, it just doesn't have enough outlets (holes) to carry the volume of heat generated by the components.
    So what choices do you have?
    1. Cheap and easy, use your pc open without the glass panel.
    2. Buy a new case and transfer your components.
    3. For sure get a new case and use a better cooling (aircool heatsink, or watercooled AIO/ system).
    What did I do? I went with another PC case and added a 280M AIO cooler.
    What are my temps now? 36 idle to 50 Max load.
    HP was my first prebuild and will be last, it is just not worth the money and time to solve issues that should never be there on the first place.

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the comment. I have pretty much experimented with just about all configurations for the Omen and made videos on case swapping / heatsink replacement / AIO install / fan additions / etc. I do agree that the case is a limiting factor with Omens. I disagree that lowering CPU temps is not possible with heatsinks or AIO's. I have ran a Noctua U9S air cooler and a Corsair H60 AIO, and CPU temps dramatically. Almost a 20c difference under an R23 benchmark, which is 100% CPU utilization. I also case swapped which dropped that temp about 5-10c lower than that. ( czcams.com/play/PLx9LWJcz6lN5lMqNjh_4gKG9YW5tMKHwA.html ). All Omen videos I made are in there including the case swap, U9S, H60, etc ).
      Also, 80c under max load ( I'm not sure if you mean 100% CPU utilization or max game load ) is completely safe, well below the throttle limit for AMD and Intel CPU's. It is a bit warm for most peoples liking, including myself though.
      Case swapping is a GREAT idea though for different AIO setups / taller and bigger air coolers / fan configurations / airflow / etc. I highly recommend it as you have as well. This video was more for people that don't want to case swap but optimize their Omen a bit better.

I was wondering if changing out parts (PSU, Fans, Etc) would void HP’s warranty, because I want to add a 120mm liquid cpu cooler and some other fans as well and still have the security of knowing that I have a warranty service. Most of those items will void the warranty, yes. HP will only perform warranty work if the computer is in its stock form. So, if the PC was reverted back to stock before sending it to them for warranty work, they would perform the work needed. And thank you Spencer!!!

      The best mod you can do for your system ( the higher end 10700K’s / 3080 builds and higher ) is to swap out the case. Fans will have very little effect because the case just lacks airflow. If I had your system, I would swap out the case and opt for a 240 or 280mm AIO. Only AIO that fits in an Omen case is a 120mm and that’s just not enough for those super strong processors. Plus the 3080 gives off a lot of heat as well. I’ve seen those machines sit between 85-90c while gaming in stock form. Way too warm for my liking.

I am planning on using the Omen cooler for at least 4 months before upgrading the CPU cooler. It’s actually the opposite. The CPU cooler is hands down the best modification you could make to the PC. You really only have room for a top and bottom mounted 120mm fan, so you really only need 2. You could maybe double sided tape a 120mm to the front. In my opinion, I’d do the CPU cooler, top 120, and bottom 120.

    Have you noticed which of the 7 fans creates the loudest noise when you are maxing games?

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks!! Congrats on the 30L! The stock fans can definitely be loud and they don’t have the greatest airflow either. I would recommend replacing the rear 92mm fan and the 80mm CPU cooler fan, and the front mount 120mm fan, which will GREATLY reduce noise levels ( except for GPU fan ). You could always add a 120mm fan to the top bracket and a 120mm at the bottom as well. I love Noctua Chromax fans, they push a ton of air and are SUPER silent. I have all the link to the fans I recommend in the description. Let me know if you have any other questions 👍🏻

      The CPU cooler replacement was probably the best thing I did for the Omen and solved any temperature problems I had. Whether it’s necessary or not, it really depends on the temps you are getting now. I was seeing very high temps, especially while rendering, and the cooler fixed all those temp issues. And for $65 for the cooler, it’s a fairly cheap upgrade that’ll solve all temp problems.

      Rear fan should be exhaust, so the air is blowing out of the case. As for the cooler, once installed, you want the cooler to be installed on the side of the cooler that is closest to the front, and it should be blowing through the cooler, towards the rear of the case.

I am still a bit confused as to whether the CPU cooler fan is 80mm or 92mm. As the existing one is round I am not sure I am measuring it right but it looks like 92mm and I see other comments saying it might be 92mm rather than 80mm. Some CPU cooler fans are 80mm and the bigger round ones are 92mm. I honestly wouldn’t recommend changing just the fan on the cooler, but replacing the whole cooler itself. Very minimal drop in temps with just the new CPU cooler fan. A CPU cooler will dramatically lower temps compared to the stock air cooler though.

      Hey! For your fans, you’ll want your bottom fan as an intake because heat rises ( and the Omen badly needs intake fans ). Top and rear are exhaust and the front will be blowing toward the back of the system so technically an intake.
      Stock CPU fan is mediocre and a replacement might drop temps 1-2c, so not a huge change.
      Your best bet is to add an additional SATA SSD to your machine
