      This is not like mixing water in milk and charging full prices. Ethanol is also a fuel, just a different grade than petrol. Cars can run on CNG and LPG which are gaseous, and still thier engines outlive what most users requirement is. So there should be no worry with ethanol addition. World over it's mixed with petrol, Brazil 25%, Us10%, and most European countries too. Even normal engine can run on 85% ethanol blend. But if manufacturers make engine adjustment there is no loss of power or fuel economy. With 20% there should be little impact on economy, but not much. We pay higher price for premium fuel, like Power -which is high Octane fuel. Ethanol already has higher Octane. Bottomline all fuels are hydrocarbons. For most people not knowing anything is better than knowing a little of something. And government doesn't make profits from fuel sale its the oil companies, and it's a rational pricing mechanism so no one profiteers. They would definitely figure lower cost of ethanol in this case and adjust prices. Meanwhile it's better Indians move to CNG or electric powered vehicles to reduce FOREX deficit. This is just 5 minute video and it's good and factual, but don't make conclusion basis this. Read little more and you may find more advantages than disadvantages for developing country like India.

Few petrol bunks are supplied with only 5% blend , some with 7.5% and some with 10% depending upon the geographical location taking into account other factors like average age of vehicles in that area, pollution in that vicinity, whether it's a urban area or a rural area

      @Abhishek..G Před 3 lety +1

      They take tax and most of it is spend in development projects, imagining owning a car with no roads and you will figure. Liability because we pay that money to outside countries we buy the fuel from. Arab countries don't manufacture or produce anything besides crude oil, and they are super rich just because other countries buy their crude oil

    • @sachindeshpande185
      @sachindeshpande185 Před 3 lety +1

      How much development has been happening can you figure it out. We are paying road taxes and for development we pay income tax and we pay gst for each and every product. So 260% of tax on petrol is it justifiable. Its good ethanol will be used and other development like this but is the money really getting saved or getting eaten in between in the name of development

    • @Abhishek..G
      @Abhishek..G Před 3 lety +1

      Agree there is corruption, but not all of the spend is pocketed. Now, there's more development being done in india since independence. The economics of all this is huge. We are a developing country. Less than 10% Indians are I-tax payers and many are small tax payers. Government makes money from GST and Corporate tax and licensing like mines, spectrum etc. But the list of allocation in subsidies is endless from hospital, education, electricity, food, fertilizer, public transport, LPG . Plus we have unfriendly neighbours so huge defence budget. One can't explain in short. We are huge population to add to that burden. Fuel is one way to recover cost of these expenses, government can't mint money as it would erode rupee value in international trade. So the tax. My equation is like we buy TV for 10k and spend almost 2.5 to 3k per year on cable subscription. So in four years you have paid more to cable operator than the TV set itself. Apply that analogy to car and fuel prices, 5 lac car with 7rs per km fuel, cost comes to about 70000rs for 10000km running. Average users drive only about 10k to 15k a year, so in 5 years they are not spending what they invested in car to start with. As long as this investment vs cost of running for 5 years equation is true, it's not super expensive. End of day, people will think what they believe and belief can't be changed unless the person wants to.

      @@Abhishek..G this was same during previous governments. Same neighbour and same imports. Now about our current government. All the growth spurt is from internet boom across globally and from all the software engineers who studied in these institutes including me, Are you talking about developments done by engineers, doctors and scientist studied in institutes launched by previous governments or bureaucrats who studied or part of administrative departments created by previous governments or you are talking about systems and policies created by them that benefited not just one caste or religion but many so we can have variety of smart people working around to bring growth in companies and government sectors. Many developed Countries give free public health care and education and affordable transport why can’t we? Don’t blame subsidies. Now worst part is current government will corruption you will find it out too because they have passed a bill in parliament in 2016 that they can receive anonymous bonds and nobody can trace it and they don’t even have to pay tax for it. Imagine Adani paying current government money in anonymous bonds. Buying not one, not two but all media houses. Now coming to the point, this is not the first time ethanol has been added to petrol. It's been in use across many countries including developed ones, in some countries mandatory. Auto manufacturers are aware of the technology and for last few years 8.5% is already been added. There have been enough scientific studies and proof there is only little or no impact on efficiency and engine life respectively when it's content is less than 25%. Even a regular car on roads today , primarily those with MPFI tech can run with up to 85% ethanol fuel, so the government need not consult you or me or the public for an approval. Do some study and scientific research. At least watch the video again, as he clearly mentioned this fuel will work for BS III, IV and VI vehicles. Just because you chose a handle named liberty does not give you the liberty to make any claim or judgement as per your desires. To add the timeline is till 2025 , enough time from policy on paper to being implemented.

    • @Abhishek..G
      @Abhishek..G Před 3 lety

      @@Liberty55555 if one has to argue, it can go on forever. I mentioned the additives part because the original comment concern was corrosion. Even petrol is highly corrosive. suitable adaptation like additives or ECU programs specific to new fuel mixture can minimize any negative effects on engine, maximize performance and efficiency. the gain is minimal but we still want it. like i drive light footed on highways as when one gets the one or two extra kilometer in efficiency, we feel happy. It's all about "Optimization"
      All manufacturers do get guidelines from ARAI , which is the governing authority. You may be aware we switched from leaded to unleaded fuel, that lead was essential content which was replaced with additives that aren't as harmful by fuel companies. Were consumers asked and consulted, no. We have many international brands in auto for years, did they all offer ABS and Airbag, parking sensors, not until government mandated it. BS VI technology existed well before it was mandated in 2020, did manufacturers voluntarily manufacture and sell BS VI cars when they had know-how, no as their goal is sales and profit not pollution control. Airbags have been around since 80s something, why no previous government mandated to provide. Probably safety wasn't prime concern. Electricity and EV invention has been around for over 100 years globally, we had Reva electric car since first decade of this millennium, did people buy in mass numbers, no. Wasn't pollution happening then, yes it did, people and government were not concerned. Today why are global government's pushing EVs, climate change is real and we have to reduce pollution of our future generations to take birth and survive. Now people are concerned, as they see the effects.
      People cry about fuel prices. at least in big cities where most cars are sold have CNG available, do all manufacturers sell CNG fitted car , handful of cars & most don't even provide an option, is CNG better in terms of cost and lower pollution, yes. Then why people don't adopt it. This is next mandate I want from government "all petrol cars sold in metro cities must have CNG fitment"
      Technology matures and mass manufacturing brings down cost, sometimes government's have to mandate to drive its adoption for benefit of all. That's all they are doing now.
      Your query about fuel pricing in itself is a vast topic, something on which a whole chapter or book can be written, but in all good faith with the pricing mechanism that is in place, we should see suitable adjustment.
