  • Battery is sitting at 12.7V for the video. I can explain most of the slow start issues with this problem which leads me to believe it may be a widespread issue...

    Thank you for posting this. That’s exactly what my problem is on the monster 696 and I fixed it myself. Thanks to your video.❤

    Good video, nice to know they didn't have their solenoids packed good, and that's probably what mostly causes slow start ups.

    Hello, I recently bought a ducati hypermotard 2010, 796,
    It is my second time that I drive it and coincidentally today I was going to change the rear directionals and remove them from the motorcycle, the whole part of the back and where the plate goes, I walked about 10 thousand and began to shoot signals the dashboard, first engine light, then oil light and then directional signals and did not let me turn them off, I never turned off the engine and I could get home, when I got home I turned it off, when I was going to turn it on again I left 6 ( 0000000) and the word PRO, I only have 2 keys and they are black, they do not have code ... what can I do about it?

    Hi. Did you ever made a video about how to fix it? Have the same problem now.

      Sorry, I haven't. It hasn't broken again so I haven't had it back apart... If someone has one laying around and would send it to me, I can.

    Hello everyone, I'm also having starter problems with my '98 ST2. Perhaps I should try giving some violence on my solenoid as well. A new one is 50-80€

    My 2001 ST2, when i press the starter button, it just makes a clicking soundm but wont start,,,,,

      It's most likely the same problem I had. The clicking is the solenoid activating but it can't make a connection. It could also be a battery problem though. Make sure your battery is fully charged.

    Same problem with my 1098 but only when its hot, was heat an issue with yours also

    • @kyonyi6844
      @kyonyi6844  Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah, that's when it would happen. Not sure what the heat does to make it fail. It's probably just one more thing added to an already compromised system. But yeah, I would start it up in the morning with no problem, ride 30 minutes to work. If I stopped for gas though, it was a pain to get going again.

      Kyon Yi thanks, i had a look at mine today, all connections good, couldnt get a voltage drop across the solenoid but the only thing getting hot was the starter motor and that was jumped off my car battery, looks like mines the starter, thanks for your help much appreciated

      bg gutta i suspected the stater motor so dumped the fluids removed the alternator case and found the start idle gear bolt had come loose and was just sitting there, the idle was moving forward and jamming up on the crank gear. Loctited and torqued it. Reassembled works fine. Only cost me oil, filter, coolant and some 3 bond. Took all day though lol.
