    Wow ! I mentioned to one of my children about a Weather Station I wanted for Fathers Day , my loving caring daughter went a step better and got me this upgraded better one then I picked as a surprise. I did get concerned that setting it up and maintaining it might be too complicated for my 57 year old Technologically challenged abilities but watching this video has changed my mind and now I’m excited to getting it operational

    I followed your instruction on the reset, and it worked perfectly!!! Thank you. We have had this unit for about 2 years now and it always operates flawlessly. Recently the sensor stopped transmitting, or the unit quit receiving, not sure which. I thought maybe the rain finally got to the sensor, or the cold weather we recently had drained the life from it. So I ordered a different unit to replace it. THEN~~~I seen your video, and now my old unit is back up and working beautifully...thanks!!! Sending the new unit back to Amazon...

    our original "transmitter" broke on a windy day so I ordered another complete system not knowing if the transmitter was programmed to each base. The new system base would not pick up the transmitter and now I found that I had to connect it with the button. didn't have to do it with the old one. THANKS for helping.
    My husband plugged in the old base, which worked fine even after 5+yrs, and discovered it easily picked up the new transmitter without having to touch the button on it. so he plans on using it in his "mancave"

    I bought the C85845 on January 10, 2017. Within two weeks I began getting lines on the left side instead of numbers. I have tried doing the basic restart a number of times. It works for a while, and then the lines return. It will work for a couple hours and then blank out for a couple hours. I thought it might be the sensor so I ordered a new TX141TH-BV2. It arrived Monday, April 3rd. I set the display and sensor up like a new set and have used the basic restart three times in the 5 days since I received the new sensor. As I mentioned, the unit worked for most of two weeks before it started misfiring. I have put sensors in the same spot before, with success, so I don't think it's a problem with the location of the sensor. For the record, when I started typing, the outside temp and humidity were displaying perfectly. Now, as I finish, the lines are back. Thanks for your time and help.

      After a few efforts I managed to find a spot where the sensor works consistently. Now, hopefully, my last question for you. Have people had good success using the 925-1418 Sensor Protection Shield? Will the signal still get through on a consistent basis?

    • @jimwaite3898
      @jimwaite3898 Před 7 lety

      Since I live in an apartment building my options are limited. The spot that offers a consistent signal doesn't offer an eave. So for about 3 hours a day my sensor is in indirect sunlight that affects the sensor by 10-12 degrees. I ordered a weather shield. Wish me luck!

    I really like this product, period! I do however wish the alerts were different.
    I like the alerts but do not want an audible alert. I wish the area that shows an alert such as Hi would blink, and reset every 24 hours. If the low alert for 32F goes off at 2:00 AM, I do not want an audible alert to wake me up. But I do want it to blink, so I can know in the morning to be aware of ice when walking/driving that morning or day.
    And Second, I would like to eliminate the yellow triangle with an exclamation point indicating something is wrong that needs attention. I would like it replaced with a dash instead if you choose not to alert on that condition.
    If alert(s) are active, allow hitting the alerts button to stop the flashing if that is a concern for anybody.
    Anyway - this is a very useful product. Please make me my own custom version that does the above and send it to me... I put 3 dots because I did not know how to insert the triangle alert sign ...

Will be sure to pass these suggestions along to our R & D department for further consideration on new systems. But since your comments revolved around alerts, we do want to mention our La Crosse View WiFi-Connected line of products. Many of these items offer similar display alert functions (but without the large alert triagles for those not set) as well as the option for you to set up custom push notification alerts on your mobile device(s). These units can only predict strong weather systems - strong heavy rain, strong storms. Only strong systems will cause a drop in the atmospheric pressure. A normal rain, snow, cloudy weather will not change the atmospheric pressure so these units will not indicate bad weather. Also, strong winds will cause the atmospheric pressure to fluctuate, again these units will not be helpful for this scenario. In other words, other than for strong weather systems, these units are simply an exterior thermometer.

      Hey Kristal, we are truly sorry for the outdoor sensor trouble. In addition to the steps at the 21:01 timestamp in this video, your sensor has a small TX button located above the batteries. In regard to your Atomic Time feature, moving your station near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO will help increase its chances of catching this signal and having it adjust your time automatically (typically happens within 3-5 nights). If you find yourself in a predicament where the time hasn’t adjusted automatically, it may be best to make sure to have your settings adjusted correctly but to also set the clock manually for the time being. This will allow the clock to remain at the correct time even if the WWVB signal is picked up in the future. More about how this signal works can be found here: bit.ly/AtomicTime
      Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the WWVB signal will reach all locations. For instance, if you live in a valley, are surrounded by buildings, or have other strong radio signals nearby, these can all cause interference, which can delay or even fully block this radio signal from reaching your station. Hey Jim, our apologies for any trouble. As noted at the 17:05 mark in this video, The calculations for this station’s weather icons are based on its internal barometric pressure reading. Keep in mind, these icons are designed to display a prediction of your weather to come within the next 6-12 hours, not necessarily your current conditions. And because the weather can be a hard thing to predict, even for professionals, we cannot claim these to be 100% accurate. For most of our stations, these predictions fall between 60% and 80% accuracy after the first ten days from the initial startup. If you're still within these first 10 days, the weather icon calculations may not be adjusted to your location just yet. Over time, these should become more accurate. One other thing to note, if you're located in an area that is above 6200ft elevation, these icons will likely not act correctly. If you fall in this category, please reach out to us here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. @lacrossetechnology  Před rokem +1

      Our apologies for the confusion. If you are getting data without batteries in your outdoor sensor, this almost surely means your display has picked up the radio transmission from a neighboring sensor. Assuming the data is accurate, we do have many users who choose to share the sensor info with their neighbors. Keeping other Temp/Humidity sensors as backups or using them in other areas of their home (though the C85845 models specifically do not offer multiple sensor channels). If you prefer to use your own sensor's data, please use the following steps to get that sensor cynced with your display.
      1. Bring your outdoor sensor inside next to the display and remove all batteries and power from both your sensor and display.
      2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave the two parts sitting without power for at least a few minutes.
      3. Install a new set of regular alkaline batteries into the outdoor sensor and keep it near the display with the battery cover off.
      4. Power the display back up using the power cord and/or a new set of regular alkaline batteries. After powering on, quickly move to step 5 to prevent the display from picking up another sensor signal.
      5. On the sensor there should be a small TX button located just above the batteries, press this button to force a transmission signal. In most cases, this should connect the sensor to your display almost instantly.
      If you are still having trouble after this, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Hi Sue, if your clock is having trouble keeping time correctly, we'd first suggest to remove all power from the display (batteries and power cord), press any of its buttons at least 25 times, and then leave it sit without power for at least 2 hours. After this time, power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. Be sure also to use a new set of regular alkaline batteries for backup purposes.
      After these steps, your unit should function as new, with the station performing its initial search for the WWVB reception. Moving your display near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO will help increase its chances of catching this signal and having it adjust your time automatically (typically happens within 3-5 nights).

    I am not happy with this model. The sensor doesn't flash, no matter how many times I press that small button (batteries are brand new). The few times I had it working it stops syncing a day later. By the way, I'm in Seattle and it rains a lot. I built a cover for this sensor to avoid water but it continues stop syncing. I even placed it in a small sandwich bag to protect it from the rain, but it stops working. Perhaps this sensor needs to be replaced? This item was purchased last November at Costco.

      @lacrossetechnology  Před 3 lety

      Sorry for the trouble! Let's try a few steps to see if we can get this corrected:
      1. Remove all power from your display. Including batteries and unplugging the power cord from both your wall and from your display.
      2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least two hours.
      3. Power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. If your model uses AA or AAA batteries, be sure to install a new set of alkaline batteries, other battery types should be avoided.
      If this does not resolve the issue, please send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. Or alternatively, you can message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport
      -- Our apologies again for any inconvenience.

    Can I use two (2) sensors for the model C85845v4? thank-you

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před rokem

      Hey George, great question! Unfortunately, our current C85845 lineup will only support data from one wireless sensor. Newer models, like our S77925v2: bit.ly/s77925v2, V11: bit.ly/v11_station, and V15: bit.ly/v15_station will all support add-on temperature/humidity sensors as well as rain gauges or more. For help deciding and/or figuring out which sensors to purchase, feel free to reach out to our store directly at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com

    My model C85845v4 has the Yellow Triangle for the indoor and outdoor set to off. How do I get this to be on?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 lety

      Hey Bart, sorry for the confusion. These OFF Icons are simply used to indicate that you have no temperature alerts set. This is covered more in-depth at the 19:00 mark in this video and within your full manual and FAQ documents here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/C85845V4#support

    How does the Alert work. Is it a flashing signal or a sound?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 lety

      Hey Louis, great question, sorry we didn't cover this in the video. When an alert value is reached, the alert icon will flash and the station will beep 5 times each minute until out of the alert range. You can press any button on the display to turn the beeping off, but the icon will continue to flash until out of that alert range. More on this and other items can be found in your full manual and FAQ documents here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/C85845V4#support

    Do I have this correct? I can use battery power only for the display, but I have to push a button to get 10 seconds of display time. ( Is there a similar offering where batteries power the display constantly? I guess I didn't shop closely...when it said 'wireless', I errantly assumed no power cord, either.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 3 lety

      Hey Steve, our apologies for the confusion, but yes, that is correct. The "wireless" is in reference to the outdoor sensor. All of our current color LCD displays will require a power cord for a constant backlight. For a truly wireless experience, one of our non-color display models would be your best bet, as these do not require a power cord. Something like our 308-1417V2, WS-9250U-IT, or 328-96087 may be a good completely wireless alternative to our C85845 model featured in this video. You can find these, and other options on our website here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/collections/weather-stations -- Sorry again for any inconvenience, please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Can the monitor be used with batteries only without the power cord ?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před rokem

      Hey Keith, the C85845 station can run on batteries; however, the LCD backlight will only come on for 10 seconds after a button push. We recommend using the provided power cord for best results and a constant backlight. The batteries are meant more as a backup option should your power go out.

    Hello there, I am very happy with your product after replacing our broken sensor with the one you mailed us. It is working great. So far our sensor stays in sync with our device. Question for you: Can one sensor connect to two C85845 devices? If that's the case, we would like to purchase one C85845 device, how can we do this? Thank you

    Does the support that keeps the unit click into place? I don’t want to break the support if there is not a position that locks the support arm in place. Thanks.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 lety

      Hey John, this may actually depend on the model you own. Our newer stations will typically feature a friction controlled stand that will allow you leave the display sit in almost any position without needing to lock in place. If your display is sitting up on its own without a "click/lock" this is likely the stand your model has. Our older units did have various locking points that clicked into place. But as long as it's sitting up and stable on your countertop, you should be just fine. 😊
