Recompile Unreal Plugin to new Engine Version (In About a Minute)

This was a great help. Thanks a lot! It would be important to note that you need Visual Studio installed here. This is my first time doing this trick, and I don't code often at home. I kept getting an error that said "Unable to enumerate visual studio installations". I finally figured it out, but I thought that was worthy of noting for others. Thanks again!

Hi someone knows if you need to have installed visual studio as prerequisite for this method? which version if needed? i had some errors following this and the error comes in vome visual studio libraries that are missing... thanks

trying to do this with the NDi plugin for UE 4.26 , not working at all. tried to follow but mine is in my c drive and my epic folder is called Epic games... " C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.26"
I'm having the same issue and am very furstrated, not sure how to get this to work with the latest build. Not sure where to get the ndi source code like you did for arduino. Seems to be a big issue and lots of people are stuck on this.
It’s very simple to solve this problem
NewTek has released a new version of their plugins for Unreal 4.26, so you shouldn't need to use this recompile approach to use their plugin in 4.26. Download info for the new plugins are located near the bottom-right of the NDI SDK page: www.ndi.tv/sdk/
FYI, I just did this for NDI 4.27, and you can just drop the folder PluginBuilds\UE_4.26\NDIIO from the NDI plugin install into the Plugins folder in your project, and UE will prompt you to rebuild it when you open the project.

What if I get an error that says "An explicit Category specifier is required for any property exposed to the editor or Blueprints in an Engine module"? 'Cause that's what I got :(
That would mean there is variable declaration in some class with the UPROPERTY() macro above it. together with a specifier that exposes it to blueprints like UPROPERTY(BlueprintReadWrite). In this Macro there needs to be a category specified like: UPROPERTY(BlueprintReadWrite, Category = "Some category"). If it is only the case at a few instances maybe you can edit the files yourself and specify a category for these Uproperties

It's working for transforming ue4 plugins into ue5.2
maybe I'm doing something wrong but I couldn't make it work with 5.3

Yes... I think so.... but the free version should be fine.
