You mean 7 time 20+ goal scorer Dustin Brown? On pace to have been 9 plus if the last two seasons weren't both shortened Dustin Brown? Why do people still talk about Brown like it's back in 2014-16 where he had those couple of rough seasons. Guys a proven goal scorer, who's also a pretty good physical presence and puck retrieval guy.

@@anthonymoring7061 if you think a consistent 20 goal scorer is a third line player I think you are pretty unrealistic. And I imagine that there's a reason why Kopitar and Brown have continually been paired together no matter how many other talented wingers have gone through LA. Reality is not everyone can be effective with everyone else. Brown isn't an elite offensive player but that doesn't mean he doesn't bring exactly what Kopitar needs in his role.

I'm telling you I'm a huge Dustin Brown fan, but he's no Rantanen, or Pastarnak, or Kucherov, or Kane, or Marner, or Stone, or Tarasenko..... With recovery time estimated to be 3 months minimum, that puts his start time past the start of the Olympics (plus, if I'm Vegas, no way do I want him to go the Olympics and frankly, that is fair). So what American fills his place at center? Vinny Trochek? Brock Nelson? Neither guy was mentioned on the lists but you need centers. Also, I want TJ Oshie on my team. He is a physical guy who can score, pass and play good D. Excellent bumper player on the PP and can play the PK. He is a presence on the ice. When you are matching up against Canada in particular, you are going to need his grit. Lastly, Batherson for Canada is not a bad choice. That guy seems to control play all by himself sometimes. Bergeron ages like fine wine, his line with Marchand and Crosby was crazy at the 2016 WCH, and he is used to win when stakes are high (WJHC tournament MVP while playing for a stacked team in 2005, two Olympic gold medals, World Cup, Stanley Cup, World Championships)... People in the comments have been pointing out that there are a lot of excellent players who were not included on either team, that could contribute. One thing to remember is that offensive skill is only half of the game so you better not choose someone strictly because they are fast or can put the puck in the net. They have got to play D also. Also, what about the penalty kill? A guy like Bergeron can not only can play the PK, he is used to doing it. That flexibility along with his excellent decision-making and overall skill make him awfully attractive choice. In a short tournament like the Olympics, his age means nothing. I am not a Bruins fan. I just admire what Bergeron brings to the game.
