I love how even in the format with a planeswalker as commander, people still find ways to play Godo as their commander.
What is godo?
@@jerrywhat4799 trollolololol!
This is the first time I've heard of that format, and a deck with Godo was my first thought. I lose to Godo a decent bit. I can't find mine, but he's cheap. May just buy a new one.
“As unsatisfying as a night with me “
I’m dead 😂
Just pretend Nate fetched a Forest with the Windswept Heath and then fetched a Stomping Ground with the Bloodstained Mire.
Honestly, I would love to see you guys try oathbreaker more. This level of production is new for content on this format I think. Love it❤
I want more oathbreaker. I always though it was a shame the format petered out so I'm glad to see it get second life.
It needs a more complete ban list, as it stands atm it is a broken format.
@matt osborne hard to know what's meta shaping when there aren't any games being played
@@DoctorJango it's not being played because it's a broken format. Too many spells break once you have them in the command zone, especially paired with a planeswalker
I'm surprised no one went for Ashiok, Dream Render as the Oathbreaker, with Demonic Consultation as the signature spell...
Ashiok is actually in the other pod we set up. It isn't running demonic consultation as the signature spell but it's still a nasty deck
I don't get it, what's the combo ? 🤔
@@tatesmith4527 i dont get it either lol
@Emily Jnt Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation wins the game. Consultation let's you get rid of your library, and Oracle wins when it etbs if you're devotion to blue is higher than the cards left in your library. It's a pretty common win con in cEDH.
For as long as Thassas oracle is legal, I vote the entire EDH ban list be removed. I would rather see ANY card on the banlist than see another Thassa's Oracle. I would literally rather stab myself in the leg with an 8 inch bowie knife then sit in a pod with that card...worst type of people, below Hitler and pedophiles...
Record your other pod!
I think I really want to see more oathbreaker content popping up everywhere. Seems like it will be a competitive format, but also fairly budget friendly too, while still being able to play high power. I know it's intended as a multiplayer format but I'm playing 1v1 with my friend in my commander pod and it's hella fun.
I liked that turn one win. Goblin/Godo Gang.
Happy to see a video from you all! Really love this channel. Keep it up! A big yes to the more casual video mentioned in the intro, I'll take anything I can get from your channel.
oh im so glad this channel isnt dead. hey yall we dont need high edit value or anything, i always watched you for your nice personalities and cool deck choices :) please dont let this channel go you have something really great on your hands
The commentary really kept cracking me up this time, great video! :D
Loved the self commentary of the channel. Watching y’all do oathbreaker was a blast.
I was just thinking of you guys the other day. Glad to see another video 👍
'not something you see everyday'
>the most common lands combo
Okay, the secret Godo list was SPICY
I hope to see more Oathbreaker!
I have a Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge/ Thoughtcast deck Artifact storm deck and a Niko Aris/Reweave control deck with Omniscience and Kozilek, the Great Distortion as the Reweave targets
I know the guys that made this rule set!!! Magikids! I tested this rule set out when they were making it! It’s insane that they got official and I love that it’s catching on!
You guys should try Minsc & Boo with Berserk as the signature spell. Makes it both a fast clock and an incredible draw engine (and using berserk as pseudo removal is great too)
Wasn’t a huge oathbreaker fan when it first came out but that was fun and I’m happy you guys posted the 2nd game. Much more exciting.
I absolutely love that Wrenn and Six deck. Looks like a blast to play.
Ngl, I didn't know how awesome having some indicator of floating mana would be while watching EDH/Oathbreaker gameplay, but that little touch is so nice! Thank y'all for putting out such amazing quality gameplay videos!!!
So glad to see this Godo deck, i Haven't looked into any oathbreaker decks but that was one that i came up with.
commenting to boost this video in the algorithm, great vid!!
That opening line 😂
Looking forward to seeing more Oathbreaker on the channel
At 11:30 Bill maybe had the win: Sac Crystal Vein for 2 mana plus ritual equals 7 mana for Godo and Magnetic Theft.
I thought I couldn't love Godo more then this comes on my feed ❤
Ain't no way my man played a Gaea's Cradle but proxied the Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler. I'm currently working on a Nissa of Shadowed Boughs+Awaken the Woods brew that I'm super excited to play. Nowhere near these wild builds though goodness gracious lol.
Would love to see more Oathbreaker, especially my boy Tyvar. Also, you know I'm down for double Elf decks
Oathbreaker seems really interesting. Would like to research more after this video
"Leave y'all as unsatisfied as a night with me" 😂😂 I'm dead!
I would love to see more Oathbreaker
Magus of the Candelabra is also a 1 drop that combos with Ashaya and Nissa.
And if you use Green Sun's Zenith instead of Finale you can cast it a little faster (you can always get Magus on the same turn you play Nissa)
10:51 "Casting his commander."
Those are some sweet playmats
Awesome video super cool
Gran video 👌
Man, just imagine having Armageddon as a signature spell. You get to make people miserable before the match even starts.
When I started playing this format, a friend used that signature spell with Gideon (the one that becomes a creature on this turn for free), yeah, it was NOT fun.
I believe to truely balance the game is that only sorcery spells should be your signature spell because planeswalkers can only activate their ablity at sorcery speed. Maybe magic will make enchantment type of card that adds loyalty abilities to any permanent.
Really enjoyed the oath breaker content, would like to see more. I enjoy seeing how games finish tho, would you show the board state and the process of a player winning instead of explaining and linking next video. Enjoyed a lot
Unloved the decks burning was surprised to see, that no one played narset plus wheel on fortune
my first thought was paradigm shift and jace wielder of mysteries
came back to this video after have watched a lot of cEDH content. I see a lot of similarities
Id love to see more oathbreaker it was pretty interesting
Gotta love tha Shoraki and Grist just don't care about the Commander rules in either format.
Love how Wrenn/Crop Rotation is pretty much just Legacy Depths (other than Wrenn being banned there).
Force of Will breaks this format by itself.
It really doesn't. You can only hit one spell with it. It would be way better to be proactive than try to control all three other players. FoW would be broken in 1v1 OB though.
I have five oathbreaker decks, mostly cause 60 cards is alot easier to biuld than 100
I have Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler/Kindred Summons that threatens wins on t3/t4 at instant speed, and it's not optimized. Allowing the tap for X Elves to have "haste" is insane. I also have Saheeli, Sublime Artificer/Thoughtcast that has Paradox/Scepter/Reversal in it. My lower power decks include Ashiok, Dream Render/Exhume reanimator, Gideon/Brave the Elements Solder tribal, and Estrid/Wargate Stasis. I plan to make one OB deck for every color and combination.
I've had a Saheeli, Sublime Artificer with Thought cast deck constructed for a while now that combos pretty well
baanned wtf
there are two ways to play Oathbreaker: casual or broken. in my playgroup, we decided to build no infinite combos in there. fair games = alot of fun. i really like to play oathbreaker :)
I played the ral that copies spells and expansion/explosion. Win at instant speed is fun
this is probably a really fun 2 player format, as opposed to commander
Maaaan I built Nissa with Finale before Oathbreaker was official and it is BONKERS
I would like to see more Oathbreaker, one that would be great to see is Nissa of Shadowed Boughs
Always in favor of more content
Love it
Oathbreaker was my fave when it was first introduced. Too bad my friends didn't like it at all to the point that they would give me 'that' look when bringing it up. I had this super fun Arlinn Kord werewolf deck where the signature spell was... moonmist, I think. Might have been waxing moon. It's been a while. It's just super on theme with a werewolf planeswalker going full-on hunt mode with her posse.
I miss playing magic. I lost most of my friends by moving to a new place, and it's almost been a year. I thought someone in my work would even know what it is, but i guess not. The magic community here does commander at a time that is not suitable for me. So here I am, looking to my group hug deck in utter melancholy.
Hey! I was checking Nissas list and found pili pala. Is there anything Im missing?
Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, Mana Severace, 60 islands.
My Oathbreaker Deck is Elspeth Sun’s Champion with Flawless Maneuver as Signature Spell.
More Oathbreaker!
i remember playing this format years ago, i didnt know it got any traction. at the time i made an ashiok dream render deck with exhume as the spell for like under $100 to try it out. but no one wanted to play with me after a couple games for some reason :^)
Sorin and sorin's vengeance
lol I see Nate is a fan of loadingreadyrun.
My first Oathbreaker deck is a Bevy of Beebles deck, which I had to find a new signature spell for because no one told me High Tide was banned lmao
Shame, because using that to power out a Graaz when i've got plenty of Beebles on the field was fun; it's been changed to Artifical Evolution, which was in the 58, so I can change Graaz's text to say Beebles instead of Juggernauts
Narset, Parter of Veils. Windfall.
Have you ever thought about Ral, Storm Conduit + 2 mana copy spell as his signature spell.
The entire deck should be just fast mana + 6 or so other copy spells + cantrips.
Getting ral, and copying a copy spell is a game winning combo, and with the multitude of cheap spell copy effects, this is very consistent. Idk about how available fast mana is though
No Narset - Windfall 🤔. I guess you did explain you weren't looking for the most broken combos.
Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog also strong
why did nate never use his excess mana to remove ice counters from dark depths?
My other favorite deck is Darreti, Ingenious Iconoclast, with Demonic Tutor.
My oath breaker is Dakkon shadow slayer, my signature spell is flicker. This may bot sound powerfull but look at dakkon's static and ult
Yeah do it this was sick.
It's not hard to break oath breaker so for cedh it's fun
Breaking oath breaker is like winning with craterhoof: you have to actively go out of your way to not instantly win
Personally im very excited about alternate community formats!
Singleton, signature spells, sounds great!
But.. As easily shown in these matches, the format can be easily exploited for op combos, leading the decks to be exceedingly one note.
Overall,i prefer kitchen table commander.
With a lower power curve, this format could still be fun, but the final nail in the coffin is my utter hate for planeswalkers.
That's like saying "we tried to break cedh"
it's a bit redundant
oathbreaker is an unknown format played mostly by casuals? imagine having your unicorn tribal EDH players pick a cute commander and a random value spell for a format, yeah i don't think that format is being solved yet
@@gorzakMtG unknown? its been out for 5 years. People know exactly whats broken already. Its obvious whats broken just like what he said. Doesnt need an explanation.
I miss you guys 😢
Same, hope they come back
Unsatisfied as a what with WHO? 😂
the format is over 3 years old I believe. still interesting to see these newer oathbreakers put to use tho.
Edit 2: I feel like this format is like the perfect way to play constructed mtg, lore wise. Power level wise it’s also very scalable
Why did bill not crack his crystal vein to have enough to equip to godo?
Narset plus any wheel, that sucks
Id probs go with ral zerek with a spell double to just have combo in command zone and sig spell
If you want pure evil
Narset+ time twister or even better
Professor Onyx + chain of smog insta win combo 😊
We need planeswalker Naya and Sultai...
Honestly I'm surprised nobody went for T3feri with Silence as a signature spell. Seems like it'd be absolutely miserably OP to play against. Then again this is a format where FlashHulk is legal so what do I know.
20 life really changes what is good. I bet flash hulk would be pretty good, but also telegraphed and needs its oathbreaker in play before they can go for it. 3feri just seems kinda bad. It's not feasible to control 3 other decks for long and aggro is a lot better in this format so you will just get wrecked while looking for a way to close out the game. Better to be proactive.
Just starting the video, but yeah I can already see a problem with all the "fast mana" being banned, means Green becomes needed for competitive Oathbreaker decks
Infinite combos should be ban in all formats or if a combo could go infinite it should be limited to a certain non ridiculous number
Lab Man Jace + Mana Severance + islands (+ 3 mana rocks that give 2 mana to save a turn) = lose to any interaction
Is it just me or does Narset, Parter of Veils + Windfall as signature spell seem crazy
What do we think of Ral Storm Conduit as a competitive combo deck in Oathbreaker?
Your combo is in the command zone with Chain of Smog
I just came here to say... NEWEST?! NEWEST?!!! ITS AN OLD FORMAT! IT"S JUST RECENTLY BE OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED!!!!!!!! Ahem, that is all.
8:30 How does Nate cast Primeval Titan?
Edit: nevermind, I didn’t see the Yavimaya that Adam has
its legal in the format if that is what you mean.
@@joshbublitz4657 I don’t know how he has six mana. Does one of his lands tap for 2?
@@joshbublitz4657 never mind, I didn’t see that Adam has a Yavimaya.
With Ashaya out and the horn of greed, wouldn't Adam have been drawing 3 cards per creature now? I'm surprised he didn't deck himself in that process.
Is there no next Oathbreaker video or am I just blind?
Seems like you need at least 1 blue deck since these games are way faster
Nicol bolas and elder spell
My favorite deck for oath so far has been minsc and boo+blazing shoal, rg has the most ramp in the format and shoal being free let’s you pitch a 9 drop to one shot on the same turn you play boo, pretty silly deck
11:29 Why didn’t he sacrifice Crystal Vein to cast Desperate Ritual? Floating red would let him cast his signature spell
Unfortunately for Bill you can only cast your signature spell when your commander is on the battlefield
@@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG I thought the Shivan Devastator was Lukka with 2 loyalty D:
Nissa and Tyvar are pretty much Tier 1 for aggro when they're set up as Elfball.
As for control, there's lots of flavors and they all work. I'm really interested in what you guys cook up.
“This game may have left you as unsatisfied as a night with me”
Joesph with the self burn, i appreciate you joseph!
Precisely why is Chrome Mox legal when they ban every other fast mana for the format, even the budget Sol Ring?
It's about power level, not budget. My guess would be that it's because Chrome Mox requires you to blow resources from your hand to play. It costs two cards for one mana where sol ring costs one card for two mana.
