I had to perform an emergency landing in a farmers field. I lost all my coolant and my engine started to overheat redline. cylinder head temp started to redline. we as a couple vlogs our trip. We looked at all the cool airplanes and warbirds at Oshkosh 2019 and started our trip back home to Idaho flying low and slow with the flying cowboys.

Hal deserves an MVP award or something for this trip. He blows his own engine on the way to Oshkosh lands in a field, replaces said engine. in the field, catches up with group in what less than 24 hours? competes at show. helps every one along the way. Hals the man!
He also won the New Holstein STol competition! Seriously does deserve the MVP award.

As much as I like to give you guff about all your caps coming off on this trip, I'm grateful that you've shared the pain because I'll never take a fuel or coolant cap for granted on my plane. I'll always triple check, double torque now, and the problems I avoid will be thanks to you.

I think the flying cowboys should do a tribute video to Hal! I mean this guy changes his engine in a field and brings along enough spare parts and tools to build a plane! I bet McGuyver calls Hal for how to advice! !!!

Looks like you stopped at Wisconsin Rapids. My home town I grew up in. My dad had a 150 commuter and hanger there, when he was alive. Got my final instructions there and check ride out of Marshfield. Flew out of Rapids for a couple years. (I know they've improved the airport recently to accommodate larger planes and small jets, getting more traffic for the golfers hitting the courses south a couple miles at Arrowhead) Not current anymore but really enjoy your vids!

@@JonasMarcinko Good Grief! I was 41 in 1987 and still hadn’t taken my first flying lesson yet. Racked up 1200 hours and it’s been 10 years since I’ve flown. Time flies and stops for no one.

1995 We flew in and camped under the wing of our Cessna 210. I think in 96 their was a storm that caused major damage to the fly inn campground. Lots of memories.

Oshkosh to Idaho? Man, that's a fur piece in a little aircraft like that. A friend of mine flew from Santa Anna Cal to Jonesboro AR in a 172 and I called him crazy. Then he made the return trip safe and sound.
