Band-Maid has come a long way since "Thrill"! Try "No God" and "Freedom", live to get more MISA bass excellence and Akane killing the drum kit! These ladies rock!
BAND-MAID is celebrating its 8th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local city of Japan to become a singer when she was about 20 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They compose, write, arrange and perform more beautifully live. They are pure hard rock bands with special talents, although they are maids in appearance. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October.
BAND-MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs.

8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile.
The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best.

10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day .
12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused.
13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation".
RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought.
14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony.
15 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics.
16 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song.
17 Dragon Cry : The only song produced by Tony Visconti.
It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock .
18 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock .

Aswell as speaking the language of the drums Akane is also fluent in Japanese & gorilla. What a maid :)

Kanami's solo is sublime,followed by a drop off into the arms of angels. This song is powerful and gentle at the same time,just like BAND MAID. These women are a gift to us from heaven ❤
Akane has the best drum fills today. The way she plays with triplets and rests is magical. The Band-maid song H-G-K (the first 34 seconds🤯) is my favorite showcase of her impressive technique. No MV for that song but it is on their channel.
Great start! If you like drums and bass, then Band-Maid is for you! Next you should check out Dice. It starts with drums and bass.

BandMaid really got that special thing I don´t really find in any other band right now... just great
This rhythm section is unrivaled out there in my view. Akane (dr), Misa (ba) and meanwhile I count Miku (rhy.gt) as well, are beasts in their own right, but what they can create together is actually always a feast for the ears. The same goes for Kanami and her solos. Always fitting for the song. Never too exaggerated that you think afterwards that it was too much. And since she doesn't even start sweating with a tapping solo like the first one and obviously still had a few ideas left, she simply adds a second solo at a later point in the songwriting. That's just the way she is. :) Oh, and as you noticed, her first solo would have had nowhere near the impact it did without the support of Akane and Misa. The chemistry and understanding between all the ladies is amazing. :)
I'm not really a fan of 'best in the world' statements, but at least I don't currently know any band that appeals to me more. I love these ladies and their music! 😎
I assume that you already got the comment once or twice, but with your nickname, the recommendation can only be 'Freedom' (Live). I'll just add 'Onset' and 'Play' (Live) to that.

Haha our Maid drummer Akane is really something special. If you continue with this band you will not be disappointed in her. She even impressed the great Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame.
Legend has it that Kanami (Lead Guitar/Primary Composer) came-up with the bare-bones idea for "Blooming" and challenged the rest of the band to write their parts/submit ideas and send them back to her. She then crafted this TOUR DE FORCE of a song. Love it! Thanks so much for checking the Maids out, TTD! PLENTY more where this came from. You LITERALLY can't go wrong with this band. Have a blast! 🕊

I see this is your first react to Band-Maid and you could not have picked a better tune to do so, this is one of their many Masterpiece songs IMHO. Every member is killing it here. MISA's chugging bass to Akane's kick drum and her intro slides are the best, Kanami tapping her tail off and the angelic harmonies of Miku and Saiki are the best. These girls are really special so please stay with them, you won't be disappointed. We forgive your "typo" (MADE) on the video title.........this time.......................Lol! Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 30 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 30 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 29 years old. Welcome to the Band Maid rabbit hole. There are many tunnels of styles and they are ALL wonderful. I already told you about Choose Me. Just go to their page and pick one. It really doesn't matter. There are some slow ballad types songs, About Us, Anenome. Jazzy type....Start Over. Mostly just good head banging rock and roll. We MAIDIACS love seeing someone find these lovely SUPER TALENTED ladies.

Yay! It's always fun watching drummers appreciate Akane ripping things up! I have been holding my breath waiting for you to get to Band-Maid. Apparently though bonnets don't need silly little things like oxygen or breathing, so now that you've done it I don't know whether to breathe again or not. Aaaargh!

Not hard to like it more than thrill- many BM fans are not much of a fan of thrill even tho it was their first hit. But since its 7yr old it really shows its age in their skill levels compared to now. And yes, blooming is a fantastic song.

There are a few other really great Japanese bands with amazing musicians that you should definitely check out.
Gacharic Spin is an all female band that mixes tons of genres, the bassist is an insanely good slapper and funky as hell. They also have a side project with Fuki called DOLL$BOXX doing metal. I suggest starting with Mindset.
TRiDENT is yet another all female band although it's only a 3 piece band, they play different styles of high energy rock. The musicians are great but I really like the lead singers voice. I'd go with Alive.
Asterism is an instrumental 3 piece band but they are co-ed , they are already among the very best and are still only around 20 yrs old. They play metal and Hal-ca is one of the best guitarists in the world, the bassist and drummer are right there with her. Dawn is the obvious choice here.
GS are my favorites of these because of their versatility though, just like Nemophila.
